  1. I'm sailing on the Epic on March 9th, can't wait!!!! :D It's been a couple of year since I sailed with NCL (also on the Epic, love that ship) so I can't remember all the details. There is a package for unlimited alcoholic drinks isn't there? How does it work again? How much is it, what's included (and not included), does everyone in the cabin have to buy it, etc?

    Thanks so much!!!! :D

  2. so great news for my cousin.. she got a free carnival upgrade to PLATINUM status & $100 OBC ( seriously no joke ) now my question is...

I want to know how she got "upgraded" to Platinum? Do you mean she got upgraded to a suite (which would give her VIP Embarkation) or she was given FTTF for free for some reason? I don't think you can be upgraded to Platinum, you have to earn it by cruising until you have the right number of cruise days (75).

  3. Casino: Buy 1 tournament entry, get one free

I can buy a seat right next to your free one.

    Complimentary Arcade credits

(valued at $5; guests under 18 only)

I can spend $5 while your son or daughter waits to play that same game.

Carnival logo gift on every sailing

I can buy all of your free gifts at the gift shop.

This is not true!! The gift we get for being Platinum are different and not sold in the shops onboard or on the Bon Voayage section of the website. And Yes, I have looked in both places many times. :)

Oh, and what you said about your laundry being in the same machine as my free laundry? That's true, but mine mine is still free and you had to pay (a lot). Same with the slot tournament, arcade tokens, etc.

I as well dislike FTTF because I feel like it isn't fair that after I've spent thousands of $ sailing with Carnival and being loyal to them, that a 1st time cruiser can pay $49 for (almost) all the same perks. Aand yes, I found on my last cruise on the Breeze, the FTTF people were very pushy, especially at the guest services line where they would try to push me out of the way saying "I paid for this line, the regular line is over there)". :( Simple solution, just hold up my Platinum card and say (ok, think about saying but don't really because it's rude) "So did I, and I paid a lot more than you"!! :D

However, all that being said, I do enjoy being able to go straight to my cabin when I board the ship!! :D Sometimes, you have to look for the positives in life!!!!

  4. I know allof of you guys watched our Carnival Breeze videos from this past May and my wife was pregnant with our first child....well he came last week and wanted to share it with you guys

We decided to do a video a week so we can remember everything so if you want to join the ride please Subscribe to our Youtube channel

    Thanks

Aww, he is so super adorable, I love him!!!! :D Congrats to both you and your wife!! :D

  5. Ah, well, this was a last minute decision for us, which is probably why we never had this problem before. When I booked last night, I also noticed your time dining was wait listed too. We've never done your time before, but I'd prefer that over late. Although apparently DH doesn't have a problem with late. I just don't think I could wait until 8:30 p.m. to eat! Remind me, will your dining time be printed on your S&S card? So I guess I'll just wait and be surprised. It's not the end of the world, it will just be a change for us.

You might find you're pleasantly surprised with Late Seating. On my 1st cruise in 2003, Mom and I were wait listed for early seating (we booked 2 weeks before the cruise) and were assigned Late which we thought we'd hate. We ended up loving it and now that's the only dinner seating we want!! :D It's great because you don't have to hurry of the deck (and out of the sun) on sea days or hurry back from port to get ready for dinner. And don't forget, there's always the buffet, deli, pizza place, fish and chips, etc if you get hungry before dinner!! :D

  6. Hey buddy...smoking in the Casino and isn't one side of the lido deck still a smoking area

Hey buddy back!! :D Smoking in the casino (and part of the casino bar), that I know about. As for the Lido, I think it depends on the ship. Most ships (ok, all the ships I've been on) I would say yes but my last cruise in August (on the Glory), no. We had to go to a spot on Deck 10 (right above Lido) midship to smoke.

  7. Anyone else doing the single digit dance today? Leaving in 9 days on the Carnival Conquest out of her new home in Miami for a B/2/B. Wahoo! We are dancing today!!!! ;)

I've been dancin for the past 3 days, haha!!!! :D Boarding the Imagination in 7 days (yup, next week) for part 1 of my B2B2B, can't wait!!!! :D

  8. Let's not turn this into a "Smoking vs Non-Smoking" thread ok? Let's all just play nice and get along!! :)

Now, with that being said, can anyone tell me where the public smoking areas are on the Imagination? I know I can smoke on my balcony (we have a suite) but was wondering where else around the ship I can smoke. I haven't been on a Fantasy Class ship since my 1st cruise in 2003 so I don't really remember what they're like and a lot has changed since then anyway.

Can't wait to do another B2B and sail on my 1st ship again, super excited!!!! :D

  10. This is so funny I just had to share it with you. I got an email from Carnival this afternoon "introducing" me to the VIFP Club for what will be my 22nd Carnival cruise over New Years (yes that was Carnival's choice of words-introducing me), and telling me that I am now a VIFP Club Member. Do you really think that Carnival doesn't know that I've been cruising with them for 17 years, and that I didn't know they launched VIFP a year and a half ago reducing my platinum benefits? The email says that I am a member of their brand new guest recognition program; VIFP. And I guess they also completely overlooked the fact that I will embark one of their ships this weekend.

Jeez Louise.....I had to laugh. Somebody fell asleep at the keyboard today. Carnival is officially "welcoming" me after 17 years! Funny stuff worthy of the Punchliner Comedy Club!

I got exactly the same email and I got a real kick out it as well, way to funny!! :D I've been sailing with Carnival since 2003 and will be embarking on my 14th, 15th, and 16th Carnival cruises starting at the end of next week, lol!!!! :D

  11. The luggage mat says: a yoga mat for your luggage, if your luggage does yoga.

I think Carnival is doing a tongue in check kind of humor with the gangway aka little bridge thingy and not treating adults as kids with it.

Yes, I have seen that one but it's not the one my friend had. Her's was just as cute though!! :) Really wish I could remember what it said, I'll have to ask her.

You could be right about doing a tongue in cheek kind of humour. I just thought it was kinda insulting, just my opinion.

  12. that's kind of cute, actually. Many peole have no knowledge of ship-related terms.

True, but there must be a more adult/mature way of saying it. They manage to get across what thing like "Starboard", "Port", "Bow" or "Forward", "Stern" or "Aft" are without saying it like they're talking to a bunch of 4 year olds.

Now, I did like her luggage mat (the one on the bed on Embarkation day). I forget exactly what it said but it was cute!! :D

  13. I saw a picture of one from a friend's cruise on the Breeze. It was when they were in port and was directing people to the gangway. It said something like "This way to the Gangway, AKA That little bridge thingy from ship to shore". Something like that anyway. Not sure if it's silly but I kinda found it insulting. I mean, how old are we, about 2? Carnival, we're not stupid and don't appreciate being treated like we are (or being treated like little kids)!!!! :(
