  1. Speaking of flights….. Our daughter and her family did not have the best end to their vacation. I dropped them off for their direct flight on SW to Pittsburgh last night. So I go to the flight aware website later, to check on their progress home, and the flight had disappeared from the screen. I did some more searching, and found that their flight had been diverted to Nashville. That is not exactly on a direct line between Ft. Lauderdale and Pittsburgh. The official explanation for diverting the flight was that Pittsburgh was experiencing icing, and the engine anti-icing system was not working. Who schedules a plane going to Pittsburgh in January, with a non working system? They did get on another SW plane, but didn’t get home till 2am. So now, grandkids are back to school this morning, probably falling asleep. Daughter had to get up early, and is already in Cleveland for her second cancer vaccine shot. And, Susan and I are tired from being awake most of the night and early this morning, checking to see if they made it everywhere they needed to be.
  2. Good choice. Somehow, our grandkids were hungry after the big crab lunch yesterday, so they went to Air Margaritaville at Ft. Lauderdale airport, before their flight last night.
  3. That’s the way it ended up for most of the meal. Yes, it was pretty tasty. That was our 4th trip to Rustic Inn Crabhouse, since we came down in December. Grandson even tried an oyster. He slurped it down, but said one was enough.
  4. California family landed in San Francisco. Meanwhile, lunch was this. These guys enjoyed cracking and eating crab.
  5. Already dropped our son and his family off at the airport, for their flight back to California. I have already decided this is one of the things I hate about Florida.
  6. Another couple beautiful sunrise pictures at the beach Early morning flight tomorrow for my California family and a late flight tomorrow for my daughter and her family.
  7. First sand sculptures of the new year. Busy morning. The dolphin was a popular photo op for a lot of people on the beach. Sand castle was a last minute, 5 minute build for the kids.
  8. Even these guys made it to midnight, ate their 12 grapes, said rabbit, rabbit, white rabbit, and Happy New Year.
  9. Likely you will be on deck 4, and that should be open on boarding day. Did you have reservations linked and request a large table when you booked? Highly unlikely they will make any change for the first night, even if you go as soon as you board. They will try to make a change for the second night and the rest of the cruise. That has been our experience.
  10. They did up our speed to around 20 knots, when we had the port change from Labadee to Nassau. Guess they had to make that port by a specific time. Were you able to have your Labadee stop? Safe travels back to SFO. Our family is still at the beach house, and they don’t fly out till mid week.
  11. Come on, say it. You know you want to! 😂
  12. Yes they do. Here are the details with costs, times, and available airlines.
  13. That is correct. That is where we go, every boarding day on Oasis class ships. It is much less crazy than Windjammer. It did start getting busy by the time we left, so the secret is getting out Don’t forget to check food stations both sides, because they have different things.
  14. Same for us. Cool and overcast, and no sunrise. Waves crashing at the beach. IMG_0273.mp4 The pool and spa heater quit working overnight, so now we have to run it in service mode, and manually switch between the pool and spa. Kids said the pool was getting a little cool. And Daryl? Somehow, he has evidently ended up in the hospital.
  15. I can help you out with the grolsch. I have a couple I carried off the ship. The one kind of voucher drink that travels well, if you need to use vouchers at the end of the day.
