  1. The Botanic Gardens have always seemed to allude us due to weather or just lack of time and tiredness, but it is on the list for next trip. Some things we have done: Fort Canning Park, we did a tour of the Battle Box WW11 history. We walked over to Sentosa Island and made our way to Fort Siloso...more WW11 history. Visited the Pinnacle @Duxton, a residential complex where you can take the lift to the skybridge for $6 and walk around for great views. Singapore flyer We have had cocktails at the top of Marina Bay Sands. Sunset at Gardens by the Bay Had a Fish Foot massage! Visited Changi museum.....prior to The Jewel opening, we disembarked a cruise, dropped luggage at airport and spent the afternoon at the museum, which is close to the airport. Done a couple of river cruises We love to eat at Lau Pa sat, Satay by the Bay at Gardens by the Bay, and all the little Asian restaurants around Bugis. We are not shoppers, but have walked around Orchard road area, Suntec Mall, Vivo city and Gardens by the Bay Shoppes. Have also seen the Light show at Gardens and light and water show on the bay. If you like Whiskey we went to the Auld Alliance Whisky bar, where they do tasting type paddles. So many areas still to visit, the Zoo, Botanic Gardens, I wanted to go to Singapore Turf club for a race day but it is closing in October so will miss that, and there are loads of islands to visit nearby too.
  2. I knowwww.....we cancelled our Discovery Princess in 2025 to do Whatsy of the Seas repositioning from somewhere to somewhere, just like to know where haha! We booked Discovery 3 nighter in March, think it's the one you are on, to check it out.
  3. John, if you like high end shops that's the place to be. Not an area we would book, but like everyone has said, the MRT can take you anywhere and once in your hotel room you could be anywhere.
  4. Yes, as stated the Mercure on Stevens is a fair walk from MRT. I have looked at it often but too far away for a short stay for us. Last two visits to Singapore we have stayed at Ibis Bencoolen, basic, clean and great reviews. Three MRT lines close and we love that area. Walk to Little India and Kampong Glam, Orchard Rd if you want. We use Accor and have booked the Mercure Bugis for the next stay, but have a flexible booking and keep checking the price. Only reason we chose this over Ibis Bencoolen is it has a pool. Also looking out for a new Mercure opening April possibly, Mercure Icon, near Chinatown, lots of MRT options and right near Telok Ayer, where Lau Pau Sat food market is. It will be brand new, pool but can't find much info at the moment.
  5. No, don't do fb. Have booked airfares also, Qantas from Sydney, 3 nights in Singapore.
  6. Ditto for me too, waiting to see what comes here from Asia in 2025/2026. We are on Quantum from Singapore this year and hoping for Voyager next year. The Discovery Princess Singapore to Sydney is too long for us at 16 days, but Royal seem to keep theirs at 12 days.
  7. Have fun Geoff n Barb. Love Carnival! The comedy venues are great as well as piano bar etc. Head up front top for quiet and lounges...behind water slides.
  8. Wow Cheryle, that is so bad that people may have stolen them. We had a couple of games when we were on board, love those tables. Hope you guys are having a good cruise.
  9. Oh Cheryle, I hope you guys get to see him this time, you have had such bad luck.
  10. We got exactly the same worded letter except 25%.....forgot to add in post above that deck 3 aft was definately poop deck, they were always spraying it with Eucalyptus spray as it stunk of sewer. Stewards told us that there had been many leaks, so they just keep spraying.

  12. Chilli, we had non working fridge, air con that hardly cooled down and the noisiest cabin ever on Brilliance. Trolleys being wheeled overhead from about 4am. They didn't even question our complaints, just gave us 25% off next cruise. I would have been happy for them to fix the issues for the next guests, cabin was very unclean, we found tablets under bed. There was glitter over the floor which was never vaccumed up.
  13. Oh yes, just walk off.....too easy. We hang about depending on flight times etc. And just to add, our cruise earlier this year from Brisbane on Luminosa, a taxi van charged us $60 per couple, we jumped in with another couple to share the cost, but nope, he got $120 for that ride.
  14. We always choose self disembark ( don't put your bags out the night before) and get off when we want. We have done this on Carnival, P&O and Royal this year, works good for us. We can easily wheel our medium size cases and a back pack off. I will never put my luggage out again haha.....oh maybe a world cruise, but can't see that happening!
  15. I know, I was surprised. It is shared, not private, I put the time of our flight in, it gave a suggested pick up time, but we were able to select an earlier one as we have Qantas lounge passes to use. Our flight is at 1pm. We will get the free Skygate bus from Domestic to Novotel the day before, then the next morning will have to taxi it to the port, will see what that costs!!
  16. We just booked with Con x ion as per Mic above. Port to Domestic airport $40 for two of us ($20 each) You pick a pick up time and they give you instructions where to meet etc, very easy.
  17. We did Sarah, put a hold on Japan to Singapore as like the Japanese ports, and we love Vietnam and Hong Kong. We just have to suck it up and fly a bit as don't have enough leave during the year for all the seas days. Already done Beijing to Alaska and few repositionings from Singapore, with another next year. Got a hold on a obstructed balcony, had the deluxe obstructed on Majestic but don't need the sofa, plus they have blocked all the deluxe obstructed unless you book for 3 persons. There are some very large balconies with no obstruction, unless looking down 😉 Haven't done Princess since 2020 Ruby/ Majestic saga!!
  18. Our Celebrity cruise has $65AUD drink package, but Royals is $106AUD.
  19. An update to mine, it had been sitting there for 3 days "in progress".....so I applied again, same cruise and an hour later received a new updated booking from Carnival with $100 OBC added. Went back into the App and they are both sitting there "In progress". Also to note, when putting the date in for the cruise, 02/18.....it kept reverting to 02/17, (USA date) I had to go with that, but the confirmation Stockperks sent sent says 02/18.
  20. Thanks so much, we have a Carnival cruise coming up so will give it a go.
  21. Hey you know all my secret spots!! When we did the 15 night repositioning back in 2019 that area on deck 12 forward had lots of chairs and lounges but noticed not as many lounges when we were onboard in June. As well as the forward decks on 6 and 7, there is also one on deck 10, we had booked an inside spa cabin and used that deck lots for morning coffees, and sail ins, only ever saw another couple there and its huge, plus we had the secret lift up to the spa, so good. Yes Splendor is gawdy and clunky but we love the vibe, loads of food choices, so many lounges and outdoor areas, we can overlook the Pink!! We have been on Spirit, Splendor and Luminosa and have enjoyed them all.
  22. Be so great if we get Voyager, I cant see it anywhere else but the stop in Darwin and Brisbane spots.
  23. Oh no!! Take care of yourselves and hope you are feeling better soon.
