  1. I went back and watched it for a second time. There are just too many inconsistencies in her story for me to believe that she is an innocent victim. When the female officer asked her how much she initially put down as a deposit she said "couple of hundred" then she confirmed "two hundred" then when the female officer said something about it being a non-realistic number, it immediately became "five hundred." Then she said all she had to do is "pay for her flight." Her demeanor was also too calm. If you really had been scammed and were losing your money and cruise, you'd be upset. The lies continued, Her Grandfather suddenly became her Uncle. I think she was acting as an accomplice to a scammer who wanted to get a charge back for a cabana ($500) and later Para Sailing. They also picked a very short cruise, so they can get her in and out. Notice the KW cop said that this happens to Virgin all the time. I assume they have a system in place now to prevent this.
  2. Virgin Voyages has something for everyone. It is by no means for the young only. I am in my 60's and have been cruising them exclusively lately. They will love it and I'll bet you will love it. Music is definitely geared for a younger crowd but you can see blues bands in one particular bar area so I'm fine with that. Food is very good. My first cruise was a gift from my in laws. I was twenty something and remember it (and them) fondly. Go for it.
  3. Walter, I'm thinking that should tell us all we need to know 🤣
  4. It started years ago on Disney ships. It's just a fun thing some people enjoy doing. They usually put a tag on it with the ships name and their name and a QR code to one of the websites that are dedicated to hiding them. It's to post a selfie with the duck if you'd like to. You can either keep it or re-hide it. It's just done to make someone smile. It's funny how it infuriates others.
  5. There is a FB page totally devoted to hiding ducks on VV ships. 🦆 🦆 🦆
  6. When I saw your title my knuckles twinged from the times the nuns would rap them 🤣
  7. I know one of the managers on Scarlet and many a day I've seen him grab a mop to sop up a spill.
  8. Absolutely. The roughest weather I've ever experienced on an ocean liner was Bermuda to NY in September.
  9. So true...they are basic and older models, but they get the job done. Wife wasn't thrillled but it saved her from packing one (scroll down) . . . . . . . . . . . . .
  10. That's going to make it harder for TA's that use them for their clients to get enough. I guess that's the goal.
  11. Thanks so much for the background story and the photos. I had always wondered how they did this on VV ships because of the way they are designed. The helicopter looks military. So glad it went well for everyone involved…especially the patient.
  12. Any chance of getting a link to the OP so I can see them?
  13. I can see that now that you mention it. The nerve of you going to sleep when I want to know something!!! And you were doing so well with the bacon reports 🤣
  14. I know there was one of these on Scarlet Lady as it approached Portugal recently. I believe someone said that the decks were off limits during the process (as they should be). Since the Lady Ships all have an enclosed bow, that leaves the midship and stern for a helicopter to send down the basket. Can anyone shed light on how VV does this? The stern has that big monster net that could be hazardous to a rescue persons feet. The midship has some open deck on both sides (near the pool) that can be cleared of tables and chairs. My guess though is the stern with something floor-like that can cover the net. Anyone know how the helicopter rescues are accomplished on the VV fleet?
  15. If you have one cruise booked and completely set up with all your passport data, restaurant reservations, excursions etc. and you book a second cruise and eventually have the same things listed: 1) Do you have to re-do passport data/security photos twice? 2) How do you switch from one to the other booking on the app? 3) Did the second cruise screw up anything with the first or are they two completely separate areas and never the two shall meet?
  16. I was looking at their drink menu. They have Dom Pérignon by the glass. Has anyone ever ordered this? Do they open a bottle and then have some special way of keeping the other 5 servings fresh? For $65 a glass, I'm sure someone wouldn't like a serving from a 24 hour old bottle that was just kept capped and chilled...or would they? Anyone know what their process is at SIP?
  17. You’re where I first heard about it. Can’t believe I sailed SL twice and never noticed it. I’ll try one next time for sure!
  18. I could make a meal of the fried ancovies, cheese plate and some bread...would pass the tartare up though 😜 BTW have you downloaded Google Translate? You set the language, point the camera at a foreign menu and you instantly see it in English. Not always perfect, but it works pretty darn well.
  19. Do the 2 coffees per day include embarkation day? How about debarkation day also?
  20. Can you order the hamburger part well done?
  21. Ever partake in the French Toast Hamburger?
  22. Now this is the definitive bacon report…Thank You 💃🏻💃🏻💃🏻 🤪
  23. Was it in a recent video he made??
