  1. Hi beach bunnie, The only way to know for sure is to ask VIetnam. Here’s their Consulates’ website: https://vietnamconsulateinhouston.org/vietnam-embassy-united-states/#:~:text=There are currently 03 Vietnam Embassy%2FConsulate offices in the US. Does your health insurance cover you 100% when outside the USA? If not, what’s the most you would have to pay if you got hit by a cement truck in Vietnam? Also, yes, I have plans with $10,000 medical. Steve Dasseos
  2. Thank You to Cruise Critic for letting me do another Q & A. This is the 8th one I have done since December 2019. I think it’s important to get the issue of money out of the way up front. I do not pay / give any money, nor any other financial consideration to CruiseCritic or its related companies. And, the reverse is true: CruiseCritic or its related companies do not pay / give any money, nor any other financial consideration to me or TripInsuranceStore.com . I do these Q & As to help people understand how a Trip Cancellation or a Travel Medical plan works. One reason why Trip Cancellation plans are complicated is that they are combining some coverages of Life, Health and Accident insurance with some coverages of Property, Casualty and Liability insurance. In addition, I don’t offer plans from all companies for various reasons, so I can’t tell you exactly why each of the hundreds of policies available are written like they are. I hope this Q & A helps you, Steve Dasseos
  3. Hi jodaytona, As klfrodo stated, your question is entirely too open ended. My question is “Why would you want a travel insurance plan?” What is at least one risk of a financial loss you would rather not pay for yourself? Steve Dasseos
  4. May I get this info from you? - In the last 180 days, have either of you, or a traveling companion or a non-traveling family member, had any medication changes or had treatment for or been diagnosed with any medical condition that could worsen and, in turn, cause you to cancel or interrupt your trip? Or that could cause you to seek treatment on your trip? - Are you old enough to be covered by Medicare with a supplement you bought on your own, have Tricare or are on a former employers' retiree health plan? Or do you have Advantage plans?
  5. Hi Cindy, When are you paying your deposit? Steve Dasseos
  6. Hi Libra10, Those are the right numbers. I don't know why we didn't receive your calls, but it would explain why you couldn't reach us. You may also also use this form: https://tripinsurancestore.com/travel-insurance-email-contact-form/ Steve Dasseos
  7. Hi Libra10, What phone number did you call? We didn't receive any calls between 2:30 pm Central time and 2:49 pm Central time. Steve Dasseos
  8. Hi leishirsute, If you have Medicare Medigap plans, you'll want Primary Medical. Here's why: https://tripinsurancestore.com/medicare-does-not-cover-you-outside-the-usa/ If you have Tricare or an Advantage plans, Secondary might work for you depending on how your plan covers you outside the USA. Steve Dasseos
  9. Hi SPacificbound, That's odd the URL includes "?doing_wp_cron=1681593642.5484719276428222656250". The URL should be https://tripinsurancestore.com/ Steve Dasseos
  10. Hi simong, Hopefully, it wasn't myself, Kim or Deanna that failed to tell you. Geo Blue pays the bills directly if you go to a medical facility in their network. You may see all the Geo Blue Trekker plan details here: https://tripinsurancestore.com/geo-blue-trekker-travel-medical-plans/ Steve Dasseos
  11. Hi simong, Did they explain to you how the payment for medical services is done when you use one of their contracted providers? Steve Dasseos
  12. Hi simong, Who told you that Geo Blue pays as Secondary? Steve Dasseos
  13. Hi retire2cruise55, We help everyone with claims so there wouldn't be any issue with your scenario. It's a little more complicated, but not much. Everthing hinges on what your doctor advises you to do. Steve Dasseos
  14. Hi realtorlovescruising, I used to a lot of business in Canada before 2019 when some insurance laws changed. You need to pay attention to the pre existing coverage "Lookback Period". Canadian travel insurance plans often count the Lookback Period back from the departure date while other plans count the Lookback Period back from the policy Purchase date. Steve Dasseos
  15. Hi LoungerOnBalcony55, I've seen many people successfully refuse a future credit. Each airline is different, so find out from your airline if it can be done. Steve Dasseos
  16. Hi Joel, Thanks for the update. It's best to verify it with the source. Steve Dasseos
  17. Hi SuzieQ521, You're welcome. Email me at steve@tripinsurancestore.com and I'll send it to you. This company has some quirks I prefer to tell you about in an email. Steve Dasseos
  18. Hi Fairwinds789, Do you have the name of the person at Berkshire Hathaway, the time and date of the call who told you this? You will need it if you decide to followup with Berkshire Hathaway. He or she gave you the wrong advice and you won't have the waiver of the pre-existing condition exclusion. Berkshire Hathaway's policy wording says: “Trip Cost” means the dollar amount of Trip payments or deposits paid by the Insured prior the Insured’s Trip Departure Date and shown on any required application which is subject to cancellation penalties or restrictions. Trip cost will also include the cost of any subsequent pre-paid payments or deposits paid by the Insured for the same Trip, after application for coverage under this plan provided the Insured amends the Application to add such subsequent payments or deposits and pays any required additional plan cost prior to the Insured’s Departure Date. The key wording "which is subject to cancellation penalties or restrictions" means you cannot insure a $0 trip cost and have the waiver of the pre-existing condition exclusion. I hope this helps you. Steve Dasseos
  19. Hi SuzyQ521, You can't get the 75% CFAR because you are using Future Travel Credits. All the plans I know well, and a lot of the many companies I don’t offer, define your Initial Trip Deposit Date as the date you originally bought the trip that later something happened and caused the Travel Credits as the first payment. I know one company that has a 50% CFAR that you can get. Steve Dasseos
  20. Hi cwayne, You need to insure the trips as one trip from the dates you leave and return home. Steve Dasseos
  21. Hi jhwarren4, It would be a good idea if you talked with a knowledgeable travel insurance broker. Travel Guard's a very good company, and I use them a lot, but like every company, they have specific policy wording that may not benefit you. Steve Dasseos
