  1. Hi ontheweb, Oops! Sorry about that. I didn't read this thread carefully enough. Steve Dasseos
  2. Hi ontheweb, It would be a good idea if you talked with a knowledgeable travel insurance broker. Travel Guard's a very good company, and I use them a lot, but like every company, they have specific policy wording that may not benefit you. Steve Dasseos
  3. Hi Hammergirl, As klfrodo said, your only choice is you get a plan with the "CFAR" Cancel for Any Reason coverage. Steve Dasseos
  4. Hi estrawn, The answer depends on these items: your ages, your maximum out of pocket deductibles and co-pays for your health insurance. I've never seen a medical claim for more than $74,000 outside the USA. Steve Dasseos
  5. Hi Ombub, You will want to find out from your credit card if they cover pre-existing conditions. I haven't seen a credit card that does cover them, but it's worth asking. Steve Dasseos
  6. Hi bettysuetraveler, If you are old enough to be covered by Medicare with a supplement you bought on your own, have Tricare or are on a former employers' retiree health plan, or you have Advantage plans, then you'll want to get a plan other than Carnival's plan. Steve Dasseos
  7. Hi Shari, I'm sorry about the delay responding. I thought this Forum was locked for new entries. I haven't found an Annual Trip Cancellation plan that is good enough for me to sell due to their plan limitations. If you're not getting a Trip Cancellation plan and you want good medical and medical transportation coverage, I suggest you get the Geo Blue Trekker (Multi-Trip) Essential or Choice plan for your trips outside the USA that aren't longer than 70 days for any one trip. The Essential and Choice plans cover pre-existing conditions. You may see all the Geo Blue Trekker plan details here: https://tripinsurancestore.com/geo-blue-trekker-travel-medical-plans/ Steve Dasseos
  8. Hi Virgo61, Not all travel insurance brokers and companies allow you to do this, but the ones we have do allow this. You may call us at 888-407-3854 or 816-282-6858 or fill out this form at https://tripinsurancestore.com/travel-insurance-email-contact-form/ and we will help you. Steve Dasseos
  9. Hi Trunkabella, Depending on your email, you might not receive my response or it could be in a spam folder. I often have intermittent problems with comcast.net, verizon.net, hotmail.com and yahoo.com You may also email me with this form: https://tripinsurancestore.com/travel-insurance-email-contact-form/ Steve Dasseos
  10. Hi brzymom, I haven't found an Annual Trip Cancellation plan that is good enough for me to sell due to their plan limitations with what's needed to cover the changes in travel since Covid started. I'm happy to discuss this with you in detail if you want to call me at 1-888-407-3854. Steve Dasseos
  11. Hi mapleleaves, It depends on the policy, but the ones I know the best only cover drivers that are listed on the travel insurance plan. It's best to ask whoever you bought it from. If they say "Yes", get it in writing from them. Steve Dasseos
  12. Hi Willwils, I don't offer Nationwide, but I'm surprised that your Travel insurance agent said it doesn't cover "Common Carrier" delays. The policy wording for their Choice Cruise and Luxury Cruise plans both state: "TRIP DELAY The Company will reimburse You for Covered Trip Delay Expenses, up to the Maximum Benefit shown on the Schedule of Benefits, if You are delayed, while coverage is in effect, en route to or from the Trip for six (6) or more hours due to a defined Hazard. Hazard means: a) Any delay of a Common Carrier (including Inclement Weather);" Steve Dasseos
  13. Hi regan3, It depends on various factors including what risks you want to transfer to a travel insurance plan. Steve Dasseos
  14. Hi majmaj4, The coverage to look for is commonly called "Pre-Departure Itinerary Change". Steve Dasseos
  15. Hi Spurlady, > We have a very locally limited HMO medical plan through BC/BS Call BC/BS and ask this: "If I get hit by a cement truck in Scandinavia, what is the most I will have to pay out of pocket for deductibles and co-pays?" If the amount is less than the medical coverage with the Trip Mate policy, you don't need additional medical. Steve Dasseos
  16. Hi PatMH, It's hard to compare the plans because Viking's plan is a "Pre-Departure Waiver Plan" with elements of insurance to pay claims for accident and sickness medical benefits. Go here for more detailed information: https://tripinsurancestore.com/travel-insurance-vs-travel-supplier-waiver-plans/ Steve Dasseos
  17. Hi realtorlovescruising, It's not too late, but Canadian travel insurance plans define "pre existing medical conditions" differently than USA travel insurance plans. Once difference is the "pre existing medical condition lookback period" looks back from the departure date while a USA travel insurance plan looks back from the plan purchase date. Steve Dasseos
  18. Hi labates629, > I’m still a little confused as to whether I really need CFAR though Call us at 1-888-407-3854 when you have a chance and we can discuss this. Not as many people need CFAR for those reasons. You have a Free Look period to cancel for a refund. I'm open today. Steve Dasseos
  19. Hi springtravel, The deadline to get a travel insurance plan is the day before you leave home as long as nothing has happened where you would file a claim. Steve Dasseos
  20. Hi WmFCoyote, Your Princess plan likely won't cover any treatment that was done after your trip ended. Besides Medicare, are you covered by a Medicare Supplement plan? Or do you have Advantage plans? Steve Dasseos
  21. Hi labates629, Depending on the plan you bought, the Pre-Existing Medical Condition Lookback Period might include your non-traveling family members. Most plans do include them, though over half my plans always cover Trip Cancellation and Interruption for pre-existing medical conditions of your non-traveling family members. Which exact plan did you buy? Steve Dasseos
