Get yourself one of each of these to use a 220volt "European" style outlet with your CPAPs.  This is what I set up for both my wife and myself.  Just make sure that your CPAP power supply is "dual voltage".  (Almost all power supplies of that type are these days.)

The top one looks perfect. Leaving tomorrow  and now too late to buy. I’ll be switching with the lamp. I hope there are reading lamps.

    Now

however with a little forethought-- ship builders could have adaptable plugs like they have in Thailand for example -- that fit BOTH 110 and 220 and plugs of many shapes.

Or to have one 110/ and one 220 of each on either side of the bed and a USB...

We also carry adapters that we use in Brazil that we can use on ships

Imagine that-- shipbuilders putting in some thought that the ships sail out of BOTH the US and EU each year.

Then THAT would be hospitable of a cruise line instead of telling people to "get over" it.

Most important is not where you are sailing, but who is sailing on you. Having cruised a lot on NCL I have never seen anyone more in the majority than North Americans.

As primarily a US marketed line, I shouldn’t have to carry adapters for the cruise. When I reach my destination, I should expect to adapt.

The US isn't the only power system in the world, we Americans need to get over ourselves and stop thinking we're the only ones that matter.  Do you expect them to swap the outlets out when they move the ship to do Mediterranean and European sailings?  Europeans could make the same "shockingly thoughtless" exclamation if the outlets by the night table were US 110 while the ship is sailing in Europe.  Those outlets were not placed for passenger's convenience, they were placed for the decor.  If you look at the fixtures around the ship and the tools used by the crew (vacuums and such) you'll find that many are 220v devices.

But the ship was designed and built in Europe and is flagged in the Bahamas.

And marketed primarily to the US.

Your point and fixtures and equipment is well taken. Of course I was being self centered. It’s my job. 😚

I re-checked the posted link - it is correctly linked/shown, last one on post #371 - picture of the night table pulled away from the wall, black (typical of round EU 2-pins) plug on the bottom right corner.  Lamps and others in the cabin, including hair dryer runs on 220V - there is no 110V thru the lamp and/or from those outlets.

There are 110V outlets elsewhere ...

    PXL_20231120_132520241_MP.thumb.jpg.6e82

You will need to either tap into that with a spliter and/or unplug and use the proper adapter as described - look below ...

Answer is yes - behind both bedside nightstand is a 220V outlet, providing power to the table lamp with USB-A and USB-C charging ports (they are rated at 1.5A each only ... too low & slow for "modern" smartphone or iPhone/iPad, adequate for digital cameras (what's that, haha) and/or rechargeable USB battery bank, etc. or

You'll need a 2 pin EU outlet plug or adapter for your 110V machine.

see this post - last picture

I went to the photo, it was a dessert pic.

Are there 110v outlets on lamp? From your description I would conclude in the wall is a 220v plug that would require me to unplug lamp, plug 110v adapter and then plug into the adapter on the wall.

    Am I correct?

Interesting.  I applaud NCL for being brave and seeing what is not working or popular on a brand new ship.  No one should be drinking and then racing go karts so a Speedway Bar never made sense to me.

Agreed. Odd from start. And near all the youngers. I noticed the Speedway bar overlooked the Vibe and was pleased they recognized the disturbance.

This is a 19 day transatlantic during school time so the passengers should tilt older.

  7. Delivered today for our 4/7/24 sail:

“Dear Valued Guests and Travel Partners,
As part of our commitment to continuously offer extraordinary vacation experiences for our guests around the world, and to uphold a consistent world-class product across our fleet, Norwegian Viva will be undergoing some enhancements during your cruise. The Speedway Bar will be converted into an all-new Entourage, offering teenagers aged 13 to 17 a dedicated area for them to meet and engage with others their age. Additionally, we will be making some upgrades to the Galaxy Pavilion, the virtual reality complex.
To complete these enhancements, The Bull's Eye, Tee Time (mini-golf), The Stadium, The Wave and a section of the Galaxy Pavilion will be closed during your voyage. However, if we are able to reopen these venues during this voyage, we will communicate accordingly. Rest assured, there will still be plenty of activities available to entertain you during your days at sea, including the Speedway, The Drop, The Rush, the Aqua Park and so much more!"

Those of us who have paid for Vibe get $100 per stateroom for potential noise.

The only ones I care about...

    Gins....Tanguerey and it's "10" counterpart

    Vodka...Kettle One and Titos

    Bourbon...Bulleit, Buffalo Trace, 1792.

Not a tequila person so don't know.

    Beers...Stella, Blue Moon

    OP..what are you looking for?

You nailed it. Are all of these usually available? The only one not on my list is 1792. I ought to try it.

  9. I’ve booked Haven and Vibe on Getaway. Glad I did. Haven sundecks are large and bar service seems to run every hour or so. Too long in the heat for me. There was a one way door from Haven to Vibe. Vibe has a bar and is very social.

Next cruise I’m doing a suite and Vibe. Saves a lot of money and gets away from the same menus daily. I think this will be a perfect fit for us.

Don't hold your breath friend.  I'm pretty much a slacker these days (and no, that does NOT mean that I put on slacks to go to LeBistro).🤣

What do you wear? I only want to bring shorts but want to dine in Le Bistro.

  11. Social media brings out the worst in people. This discussion is silly. If your cabin is dirty, let them know so they can clean it. If your dirty experience ruins your trip, find a therapist. They can help.

  12. I realize the alcohol beverage lists provided by NCL are pretty extensive. But my experience has shown it to be more limited on board.  Recently, the shelves have been multiples of the same bottles - what I would call upper end well pours. Bacardi as far as the eye can see, and not just at the mojito bar. I’ve been enjoying Tanquera and flavored better vodkas. Haven’t seen the vodkas.  Gins? What’s your experience. Not referring to FAS+.

ten days on the getaway is currently going for $309.

fourteen days on the prima at $329 is standard.

vibe pricing varies, based on the duration of the trip, but also the ship. NCL has placed the ships into three pricing "buckets."

breakaway, getaway and escape are the lowest priced, with 7 days at $249 and 10+ days at $309

followed by bliss, encore and joy, with 7 days at $259 and 10+ days at $319.

and the prima and viva (and presumably aqua) are the most expensive, with 7 days currently at $269 and 10+ days at $329.

all the ships have $20 per day incremental pricing along the way, until they cap out at 10+ days.

I have Vibe on Viva for 19 days at $319.

I'm calling "you know what" on this comment.

I've been on enough cruises to know how difficult it is to find loungers and how it's impossible to avoid all the kids. The info you're providing is completely misleading to the many that read your posts. Especially those that are new to CC and may be looking into Vibe for the first time.

IMO you are part of the 1%.

I've read and watched 100's of reviews over the years from people who've experienced Vibe and I can count on one hand the amount of people that didn't see the value and thoroughly enjoy their experience.

It's the reason that finally, when given the opportunity, I've booked Vibe on Getaway for my April sailing. It's the thing I'm most looking forward to, knowing how much my wife and daughter are going to love it!

According to you all I'm getting for my almost $900 outlay is 3 lounge chairs.

Personally, I'm going to believe the 99% of people that love the Vibe, describe it accurately and are repeat customers.

I go to the Vibe to be around similar people that see value in what I see of value in. Child free, space, great bartenders, clean bathrooms, and good conversation. If you don’t like the concept, please don’t go and ruin the atmosphere for others. The concept seems to separate us well.

  15. This thread is a psychotic spiral.

I have cruised a lot. From recent experience I can say cruising with NCL and Celebrity has given me less enjoyment and value. My concerns are not ROI, capitalism, or their stocks.

Because NCL owes me a lot of credits, I’m going with them next month. But despite even more leftover credits, I’m looking elsewhere to spend my vacation dollars. It’s seems easy to lose $500 in credits to not spend thousands in a futile attempt to rekindle my past experiences.

The drama exhibited here just seems to be social media vitriol.

Make your decisions and move on.

  16. Hi RMS,

We have done a few food tours, independent ones. I highly recommend them. You will enjoy a walking tour with history provided by the guide. You will also try some great food. Our favorite was in Madrid. You will also meet people, can be hit or miss. In San Juan Costa Rico we were with an obnoxious elitist - but that was only one out of many.

We will be on the Wind Spirit next year. And we now live in Fort Myers FL.

    Kip
