  1. Never had any issues. We purchased a couple of plastic "glass" vases at Dollar Tree on one of our trips to the US and packed those for a couple of years in case we could not get a vase on board but never had to use them and have stopped packing them.

Thanks for the helpful response. I know we have not packed back home a number of ship vases provided with our flowers. I would think the florist shop simply recycles them. Packing a vase back home seems semi-rediculious.

  2. This is the 3rd cruise I have used this TA and she is very honest...I do my research and her prices are right near the top---minus the group bookings one! I can trust her and she is gives great customer support, and thats worth something......but like others stated--it all depends on the Celebrity agent u get.....and took going to a supervisor to get it.....

Some thoughts. I find pricing baffling. I've had online agencies withhold perks. I' ve seen agencies give expected pricing plus OBC. I've seen discounted pricing with OBC. I don't think I understand the dynamics of it all. I'm not sure anyone does but the corps. When I get the invoice the fare is low and the taxes/fees high - just don't get it. If anyone can explain...please do.

  3. A few days before final payment and just seeing if there were any new opinions on having a balcony on deck 9 directly above the Waterfront on the Getaway? Were there issues with smoke, noise, etc. Would also like opinions on if the overhang and lifeboats were annoying and obstructive on your balcony. We could move more forward in the same cabin category or move to a family balcony which claims to be slightly bigger but I have my doubts. Only concern is moving more forward and higher and feeling more movement. Any insight is appreciated!

I just need clarification so that I won't be concerned. Are you referring to cigarette smoke? I ask because of some complaints about exhaust of the ship on the aft cabins. We are booked on an aft cabin and wonder if it is an issue on the Getaway aft cabins.

  4. It is not Mandatory. I'm thinking of buying the specialty restaurant package for my 7 night cruise so I will not double tip the MDR. With the implementation of this package they need to rethink a different daily tip amount because it's double dipping. I believe the package for the specialty restaurants include the tip but if not I need to know that.

Check your email. Too me, not a big deal. An increase of about $1 a day after 5 to 6 years. I would never think of opting out.

  5. As long as the 123 Go promotion and it is regular pricing you should be able to keep it. I have. If it is a resident, senior, or military then your TA is correct.

At first I had another thought - possibly a TA group rate? But then I thought as long as the cabin is in the group, that wouldn't change the perks. But I have run into online agencies playing pricing/perk games.

  6. We are avid cruisers, sailing on Disney and Royal. We are thinking about sailing on the Summit to Bermuda next May. Our group ages range from 68 to 25 yrs old. Give me your thoughts…..GO :)

I"d say stick with Royal.Celebrity does not play to 20 - 30 crowd.

  7. These small things, like flowers, bathroom niceties, belgian chocolate, Ice buckets are some of what set cheaper hotels from the nicer ones. There is also a change in dining staff and quality of food over a few years. Entertainment costs are also cut.

If all anyone cares about is someone making the bed, there really are less expensive cruises.

Since the stock is at an all time high, I expect the issue is to make more money, not stay in the black.

Am I sweating no, but I do notice.

Well said. What matters is what matters to me. Cut it so close to NCL and the sheep wander.

  8. From limited experience, I think think RCL is my most liked line - grant it, only one cruise. Went on a Celebrity B2B out of NJ to San Juan - loved the NJ & NY crowd, and then Southern Caribbean. Loved the first first week, not so much the next. For the ship itself, I didn't find the Summit anything special. I felt the bar staff was great, the entertainment (did not try the main stage) and food average.

But we did book Celebrity again, as we find the perk packages valuable (Read, we drink plenty) and frankly, every ship has a sun deck while sailing the Caribbean. That is ultimately all I need. We are now 49 and 38 years of age btw - not worried about the age of the passengers, not looking for groupies.

My only hope is that this is helpful.
