  1. As long as you can go to the early or late show in the theatre you should be OK only the 8.30 shows seemed full. BTW we are on Iona in 11 days as well
  2. Your opinion v mine. I reported on my last cruises on Iona the excellence of service and food. It’s there in black and white.
  3. They go bust and then change their name and start again. A very traditional way of working. Builders have been doing it for years
  4. We must just be lucky. Service on Britannia excellent but we were in fixed dining. Cant fault Iona either.
  5. I have seen the photos of people waiting for their cars, reports say up to 8 hours. 😈. I think people should take this as a warning not to use odd parking firms stick to ones whom have been around for years Parking 4 Cruises, CPS or stay in a hotel and leave your car there..
  6. Sorry food quality and service has not been reduced. The food we have had on Aurora, Britannia and Iona in the last 12 months has been good to very good 6 cruises in all.
  7. Just checked our next Iona jaunt we paid £1777 on day one now it is £2666 - 10% = £2400. So well happy with that. As the ships fill up in the next few years the prices at launch will all go back to being the lowest.
  8. Well I am still of a mind that day one bookings are the cheapest, even though we need the accessible cabin. I have checked our next 4 cruises and I have found this to be the case. However I have seen the odd price very cheap within 3/4 weeks of sailing. I suspect that some of these are cabins the company have been paid for and people have dropped out. Therefore they are being sold off cheaply. I had not thought that people would drop out in large numbers but on a recent cruise there were around 10 people. That was from a smallish group of 70/80. But as I say I dont have a choice.
  9. I cannot see it continuing if its not used, especally with the other venues possibly stretched.
  10. Not sure of the validity of the report but I have read recently that this restaurant was no where near as full as the equivalent space on Iona, the Olive Grove. This would be disappointing if it were not being supported. We will certainly try it next year.
  11. End of what, it says P&O has fine dining, which is correct, the Epecurian.
  12. So you do know what fine dining is?
  13. John a fine dining room would not serve Huge lamb chops. Or huge anything. Usually you are looking hard at your plate to find the food. You are not describing fine dining. You are describing good mass catering.
  14. There are fine dining rooms on all but one ship. So you can return to cuckoo land. It does not say or claim the MDR is fine dining. NO cruise line would claim that. Fine dining is a small restaurant, serving high end food sometimes with a celebrity chef and costing a fortune. All MDR’s are mass catering.
  15. On another forum. It has been said that TUI cannot provide the aircraft for the flights. Is it not up to TUI to charter a replacement as they are the ones with the contract for these flights. Should it not be TUI everyone is having a go at. Or is it too easy to just blame P&O. I do wish people would wait for the facts before blasting away at P&O.
  16. Exactly where does it say that food in the MDR is fine dining. If you think any mass catering can be fine dining you are in cloud cuckoo land.
  17. I could have written this On the sauce front I have heard complaints that the chicken was not there and the person only wanted plain food. Just goes to show with catering you are not going to please everyone.
  18. I work on the principal that i fall back on the steak if nothing takes my fancy. I have only had one steak in 3 cruises. The always available items are the least desirable in my mind. I don’t tend to eat deserts. As I am too full and I keep away from carbs.
  19. Sorry don’t agree at all we have been on Ventura, Aurora, Iona and Britannia and the food has been good. Because people had said that there wasn’t not so much choice we have looked a menus from previous cruises and its just not true. Outside of MDR we have found that what is available on Iona in terms of quality and choice is certainly a level above.
  20. Not that much less if at all. We have looked back to menus over the past 15 years. Iona is excellent BTW.
  21. Interesting your comment abut the layout of the lower decks and going the the bottom deck at the stern and being stuck. Well if yo have traveled on other P&O ships like Oriana, Aurora Ventura and Azura you will find the same set up with two restaurants on one deck with the kitchen between. You will also find this on the Princess Grand class ships and the ones similar to Britannia. It’s not just Britannia.
  22. I have usually in the Crows Nest or Metropolis on Ventura.
