  1. are you able to ask for more wine if you find one you like?
  2. I have some questions about our upcoming Solstice Mexican cruise. What time does the gym open in the morning? Are the shower rooms accesible from the gym in the early morning (I like to exercise and shower there as to not disturb my husband)? How many laps does it take to make a mile on the jogging path? I like to bring my toothpicks for counting the laps. How much does a latte or cappuccino cost? Where is the coffee bar on the ship? We have the basic the drink package for wine and wine. Can we order these in any bar or restaurant? How much does the wine tasting class cost? We have cruised on the major mass market lines and Oceania, Regent and Paul Gauguin so we are curious to see how our Celebrity experience compares.
  3. Only he was truly injured! The crew saw his injury! Please don't be snarky.
  4. My husband wears Rockport shoes in the dining areas. However, he injured his big toe on one of the cabin doors and bled out like nothing. He could not wear shoes due to his bandage injured toe and he was allowed in Toscana with sandals.
  5. We had the beer and wine package on our last cruise( Regatta:9/9) and found the wine to be very drinkable on the wine by the glass. We didn't expect top drawer wine but didn't have BAD wine. The steward always gives you a sample prior to pouring a full drink. The Malbec and the French Burgundy and Pinot Blanc were great. We went to both the Italian and French wine tastings and found the the wines to good ones (some on their list listing for over $200). Gabriel the wine steward was great and allowed for very generous pours. Well worth the cost. I upgraded to the prestige package and my husband did not have to do so. 2 spirit drinks a day covered the cost of the upgrade. I had a bloody mary in the am and a gin & tonic in the early evening with some other drinks as I felt I could handle it. The Regatta Waves bar makes a spicy Bloody Mary(which I loved) but the other venues are more mellow. I did find that you have to ask for a brand name with your drink or it will not be as tasty.
  6. Thanks for the help. I, on past O cruises just asked for a drink without specifying brand or what else and was always disappointed in the quality of the drink. Now I know to be more discriminating.
  7. Su-Arizona, thank you for your reply. This is what I have found in attempting to cost out the air.
  8. Thanks! Now I know to order my G & Ts with a specific gin and ask for Fever Tree which I love. I will try the Drumshanbo Gin.
  9. Do the Regatta bars have Rose's sweeten lime juice? A gin and tonic without it is blah. Also what kind of tonic is offered? Thanks.
  10. There is only one cabin on the ship I would avoid and it is 426 which at 4:30 am and 4:30 pm water swishes down the outer wall very loudly. We were luckily able to be moved from it. We have been on all the decks and loved them all. My suggestion is to take the cabin level that enables you to be on the ship the longest, Enjoy!
  11. The gym has tread mills and weights and I believe a bike. It is a small room. I usually tried to go at 6 am and had it almost to myself (maybe one other person). You can walk around on the pool deck.
  12. Do the bars on the Regata have Rose's Sweet Lime Juice? I like it in my gin & tonics.
  13. So one person could have the premium package and the other the basic?
  14. We have the basic wine and beer package. Once on the ship could one person upgrade their own package?
  15. I notice that the Windstar does not provide airfare packages. I am interested in the Caribbean but find getting air is difficult. Any tips on how to get air that works with one's itinerary? Thanks.
  16. Do any of you have any pre boarding rituals you always do? What helps "pat down" the nerves and excitement? Thanks.
  17. We enjoy the activities and entertainment on Oceania and for the most part the quiet vibe. Yes, people should research whichever cruise line one is interested in booking. Each cruise line appeals to different audiences. Let's be tolerant of each other.
  18. We will board on September 9th and wondered what type of entertainment is planned for our cruise. Will there be a production show or single acts such as a magician or singer? We are not interested in necessarily critiques of what is provided. Thanks.
  19. PLEASE let us know if get an upgrade and tell us about your trip.
  20. If the airline has openings in business or first class you can purchase the upgrade. We did several times and enjoyed the extra room immensely. We got off the plane in Tahiti ready to cruise. We stopped when they started charging $900. We never were able to get an upgrade going back to LAX. Good luck! Watch your carry on since the airline weighs if they think it's heavy. The food going over is decent but coming back bad in coach. Enjoy the PG! You will love the trip!
  21. We didn't go to the room until after lunch. The service was good in general but I believe the main dining room crew is under staffed. The food was very very average nothing to write home about. We did go to any specialty restaurants due to the the number in our group(10) which would have cost us $$$$. Would you believe I didn't put my toe into the pool. One of my adult daughters advises that the main pool seemed heated but the slide pool was cold. The room sea passes are placed on the slot on your cabin door.I don't recall any announcement about not going to the cabin upon arrival. Please put a boarding tag on your carry on luggage. In my excitement I ran off without my carry on. Fortunately the boarding crew set it aside near luggage drop off. We received a notice on the second day that someone did not have their luggage and the ship was asking if anyone had picked it up by accident. Very sad if someone took it by accident or intent and did not turn it in.
