  1. If one has one of the beverage packages does one pay the corkage fee? Thanks!
  2. The only time one is limited to asking for another glass of wine or beer is if the venue is closing. WE ate a late lunch once and the waiter brought us a cheese and cracker plate telling us that the Terrace was closing but advised us to take our time! We never saw anyone drinking over the top. Maybe there were some noisy conversations in Waves! By the way, the wine by the glass list has some very tasty ones with lots of choices. If you are looking for "special" occasion wines buy a bottle.
  3. OK, one vote for using O's air. We were on the December cruise that was significantly delayed in arriving in port and disembarking. We were concerned about getting to the airport in time. The Cruise Director advised that they were monitoring the airline reservations of those who booked with O. One group was rebooked and given a hotel. Those who didn't use O were left to book rebook their air and rearrange their transportation. Not to say that this situation happens often but twice in Miami we were faced with air delays. The moral is book later flights especially if going west. The good news is that we made it to our gate as our group was boarding!
  4. We enjoyed the wine by the glass very much. It's not top drawer wine but not bah bah. It's worth not dragging your own wine.
  5. Did the ship put out Christmas cookies around the gingerbread cookie village? We were on the previous voyage and thought the holiday decorations were simply beautiful!
  6. As you may know, as one enters the dining room you are asked for your cabin number and name. My husband noted that we were usually seated with people from the same deck. Has anyone noted this or is this just a one off situation? We were on a December Insignia cruise if that makes a difference. I thought we were all mixed up without regard to our deck assignment.
  7. Buy Bonine (it's an over the counter item. I've found it at Target but sometimes it's difficult to find. I also use the generic one with good results too). It's the best for motion illness and you don't get sleepy.
  8. Our daughter has slept in the sofa bed twin couch and the fold up and advised us that the couch bed was more comfortable. She is 5'8''.
  9. Wonderful, informative review for those of us who have not sailed on Windstar yet but dream to do so some day. Thank you for the time put into making this report.
  10. I've used the hair dryer in the ladies spa with good results. It starts out cool and warms up as you use it. The dryer in the room is sufficient for my thick hair but I personally refer the spa one but it's a pain to drag your clothing bag up. I often shower in the spa for it's spacious shower area. We were on the Insignia in December and they were offering L'Occitane products in the shower area.
  11. Yes, if you had travel insurance all of it would have been covered. It happened to us once and the check from the insurance arrived just before we got our cc bill for the hotel stay!
  12. Actually when I organized a M&G with the cruise line, they wanted a minimum number of people to show plus limited it to 30 people. They also wanted names, cabin numbers and confirmation numbers submitted to them by a certain date. In turn, they had a no host bartender, nibbles, swag and the cruise director came. A lot of work but it paid off with great attendance.
  13. The repairs had to be done since there was leakage into the deck below. We were on this cruise and at the end of the cruise corporate offered $400 per person future ship board credit. Of course, this truly doesn't take away the repair noise but at least recognized the inconvenience of the matter.
  14. We like to book early in the cruise when we are not so full of food from the great other dining venues. We can really enjoy our 2 specialty restaurants on The Insignia. Enjoy!
  15. The only down size on the bathrooms on the PG is the bathtub you have to step up and into in order to shower. Kinda scary when the ship is bouncing around! Otherwise, the cabin have lots of storage.
  16. Or you can go home, take a deep breath and then call your travel agent within 30 days of your cruise. Same deals offered.
  17. I go not due to the size of the shower but to let my husband sleep a little longer.
  18. I often shower in the spa shower areas. Lots of towels and amenities plus a blow dryer. It's quiet and I've never had anyone come in while I was there ( maybe because I go early after walking.
  19. ATT: Pinotlover: WE had just received our invoice, . I spoke to our TA who advised it depends on the length of the cruise as to when the final payment is due.
  20. I think it depends when and where the compliant is lodged. While on one cruise, I lodged a safety compliant and we got a visit to our cabin by a ship officer. I know that they review comments and often make changes if possible.
  21. So you are saying no spirit cocktails? I.E. No gin & tonic drinks, etc?
