  1. I lay the brown bage flat too. The down side is it's hard to observe the one's in the very back. In a box it's easy to see them all. Finnley is showing here eyes more now. And Lottie's training to be more like Kenzie.
  2. Cherry tomatoes usually does well for potted tomatoes. Look into using grow bags for pots. You will not have to be concerned with them becoming rot bound because they air prone in grow bags.
  3. Yes. Tomatoes produce ethylene, which encourages ripening. Placing the tomatoes near another fruit that releases ethylene, such as a banana, can speed up the pprocess.
  4. We had a bunch to give away before we left on our cruise last month then came back to a bunch more. I started off using paper bags. It works good too. I find it easier to check them while in a box. Adding a banana or two will help them ripen. If you have a sealer like a FoodSaver or chamber vac, you Mike like making roasted tomatoes and freeze them. I have grown to love them.
  5. Last month whole cruising, the kids cane over and picked about everything out of the garden since we were having our 1st freeze night. I put all the green and partially green tomatoes in boxes to ripen. In this box every tomato was green. Now look at them. This box was green to partially green. Another box that holding some about ready to eat. Last year we ate our last garden tomato mid December. This method works good for peaches too. When grocery peaches are hard, I put them up like this and they ripen up to just ripe peaches. If you trybthis method make sure you check up on them every few days.
  6. If you are talking about the CC roll call I think I made maybe two replies. It not very active. I don't do other Social Media stuff. We really haven't planned much yet. Just a few days ago we booked flights and hotel. We always do Nachi Cocom at Cozumel. Prices are higher on the UDP so may just do 3 Specialty Restaurants. Sharon's DB stayed at Roatan for a month so may ask him for some recommendations. Do you have plans?
  7. Yes, January 22. And I am glad to see your in on doing a combined live thread. After just doing one on Allure, I probably would not do another on my own.
  8. We did the UDP last time so I was to full most of the time to eat the pizza. We are on Allure again in January. Unless we can get a good deal again on the UDP, we will probably due the 3 dinner plan and I would probably try the pizza. We cruise with another couple and Chops was always our #1 on the list. Giovanni’s will be our #1 in January.
  9. We were on Allure last month. The shrimp being smaller at Chops was the 1st thing I noticed. Giovanni’s was real good. So good that we changed our 2nd visit to 150 CP to a 2nd dinner at Giovanni’s. On the 1st day we had a good lunch Giovanni’s too.
  10. This adventure sounds nice. Have a safe trip. Thanks for sharing.
  11. I have been playing daytime batchelor.. our DD started back to work so Sharon is babysitting at their house. It gives me an opportunity to do a little experimenting with lunch. Today, while the bread was toasting, I sauteed a chopped up Jalapeño pepper and garlic in olive oil. Then I fried an egg and melted sharp cheddar cheese over it. Also lightly sprinkled brisket mix on the egg. I put some Duke's mayonnaise on the toast, sliced tomatoes bacon and the fried eggs, Jalapeños and garlic.
  12. You could make reservations at Sabors for the time she is supposed to perform. You will not see it but would definitely hear the performance. The noise from the Aquatheater was annoying when we ate dinner there but wouldn't be bad if it was music.
  13. I believe the closest we ever came to missing a cruise was out of Galveston. The second leg of the flight got messed up. Lucked out.
  14. Very wise. Being a Dad of 3 married daughters, it didn't take long to learn to just step back. The most memorable moment of each wedding was the moment I spent with each daughter right before we headed down the isle. If you want to catch an emotional moment of any good man, watch that moment.
  15. That was a great summary Deb. And great pics of the Schooner Bar. I don't think some realize how challenging it is to do a live review. There is a lot to deal with and can take away a little from the cruise. I know that it is appreciated especially from those we have become friends with on "the threads". Thanks again for sharing. Glad you and Andy had a great time.
  16. If you go to Bow and Stern to train bartenders, ask for Joshua. Supper nice bartender. He is scheduled to leave Allure the week before we board again but said he is trying to extend it to the end of January. If you meet him please tell him we said hi and wondering if he is going to be there when we board again. Have fun.
  17. Thankful you made it home safe. Thanks for sharing the cruise with us. You did a good job.
  18. That is what I was thinking. Skip sour cream. When I make poppers the cheese will sometimes ooze out but I like to eat that cheese. I found, at least when I make them, that the Philadelphia cream cheese does not ooze as much as cheddar so when I have more cream cheese than cheddar it does not ooze as much.
  19. Rolling the stuff up in crescent rolls is a cool idea. Did you add the sour cream? I would probably skip the Slap ya Moma seasoning. I wouldn't want to add heat. They say it's OK to freeze them if you have left over.
  20. Congrats! I bet that was cool 😎. Glad to hear it all worked out.
  21. Good to hear you made it home safely. I am happy you enjoyed the cruise. Thanks for taking the time to share the experience. Did you hear what was going on with the flow rider?
  22. It looks like the garlic I'd doing well. I planted a row down each side of 4 beds. A total of 8 rows. I had one bed that was not developing but it looks good today after a good rain this week. I planted 178 cloves. If I have a 80% harvest I will be happy.
  23. Usually I see y'all get our weather a day or two later. Yesterday it got to 82⁰, storms rolled in late last night and today's high 62⁰. I hope your allergies get better soon. Sharon's has been real bad for the last few days. No fever.
