  1. Georgia Peach, so wonderful to meet you! This is Denise, traveling with Steve Q. We agree with many of your impressions and observations. For us, still a wonderful cruise with some hiccups, Navigator is definitely a different ship than Explorer, but has its charms. For example, the theatre is the best—intimate and no poles! We have had some wonderful service, from particular waiters, sommeliers, etc., still something is a little lacking. We can’t quite place our finger on it. Still 9 days to go, so more impressions to come!
  2. Interesting. We are on Navigator now and have just docked in Freeport. They did arrange some last minute excursions. I do not think that the Escape was originally scheduled to be with us in Great Stirrup Key. Not sure what happened.
  3. We will also be sailing with you. We were looking forward to a beach day at Great Stirrup Key. Hopefully, there will be some sort of beach excursion in Freeport. Not sure yet as Regent hasn’t announced any excursions. I must say that we have been on many cruises, but none that have had changes like this. Last year, on our Transatlantic crossing, they substituted Nassau for Hamilton. Regent did, however, explain that it was because of bad weather. There has been no explanation provided this time for any of the changes. We booked this cruise while on our last Explorer cruise. We are very excited and looking forward to a great experience.
  4. We will also be sailing on this cruise. Honestly, I have never sailed on any cruise that has had this many changes. Altering the schedule to arrive in Hamilton at 6:00PM is the biggest disappointment for us as we depart the next morning by 5:00AM. We will still have a great cruise, but I have to agree that Regent really has come up short here. There have been at least 6-7 changes to either the ports or arrival times. No explanation has been provided for any of the changes.
  5. Just received it 20 minutes ago. Hope you are enjoying your cruise.
  6. As I mentioned in an earlier post, we are scheduled to depart this Friday on Navigator from Miami to Montreal. We just received an email from Regent with another itinerary change (I have lost count of the number of port and arrival time changes). Today, they cancelled Great Stirrup Key and substituted the Bahamas. Obviously our excursion has been cancelled. We have not received notification of any new excursions in Freeport.
  7. We are also scheduled for this cruise. Originally, we were to arrive in Hamilton early in the afternoon. We had scheduled an excursion for a twilight boat trip. Recently, Regent announced several port time changes. Thus, we now do not arrive in Hamilton until 6:00PM and depart early the next morning. Regent hasn’t provided any new excursions for this port. I suspect there might not be any due to the late arrival.
  8. We also had Isabelle during our transatlantic last March. She is terrific— one of the best performers we have seen on a ship. She also did a 2nd show, so you might really be lucky.
  9. We are on the Allure in July. Do you happen to remember the approximate cost of the trip? Thanks
  10. We are also on the same cruise with you in early May. We have already had several port times changed and today they cancelled the stop at Fernandina beach and replaced it with Jacksonville (departing several hours earlier. Two weeks ago they delayed our arrival in Hamilton to 6:00PM. Since we depart at 5:00AM the next morning, there is really no reason for this stop. I’m not sure why our port times are being reduced and arrival times delayed.
  11. We just disembarked the Equinox on October 6. There were 2663 passengers aboard. It honestly felt very crowed. I guess we were spoiled in August 2021, when the Equinox was only at 40% of capacity.

  13. We also will be aboard your cruise next May. It will be our 2nd Regent cruise. See you aboard!
  14. I also have Celiac. We sailed on the Equinox last August. I found Celebrity to be fairly accommodating. While my gluten free allergy was noted on our booking, I’m not sure that really meant much. Shortly after boarding, I visited the main dining room and spoke with the person in charge. That. I think, was the best thing you can do. We were seated with the same two waiters every evening. At the conclusion of dinner, our waiter provided me with the next evening’s menu. I simply made my choices at that time and everything was prepared gluten free. You are also not limited to the options that state that they are gluten free. Your waiter will work with you. For instance, they prepared the rack of lamb for me without the usual crust, which contains gluten. Don’t be afraid to ask. They really do want to please. The bread was just Canyon Gluten Free brand, so was nothing special. It was available at all of the restaurants. One highlight was the daily availability of a gluten free cake at Cafe en Baccio. The cakes were some of the best I have tasted. They were one of the highlights for me. Good luck.
  15. Irishwitchy on a separate thread stated that there are currently 380 passengers aboard the Splendor. As Pcardad said earlier, there just are not that many people that seem to be ready to sail. Splendor is almost half empty. I suspect that Covid is the the primary factor, although the current state of the investment markets may also be a factor.
  16. Regent assigned us The Diplomat Resort in Hollywood for our March transatlantic.
  17. I do not think Regent has a written policy to restrict capacity. There simply does not appear to be enough future cruisers eager to book. Check virtually any of the sailings in the near future and there is availability in most categories. Thus, the cabins are available but not enough are willing to sail. Some of the people currently sailing are mentioning on FB Boards that they are sailing at far below capacity.
  18. We sailed the transatlantic in March from Miami to Rome. The return flights were business class from Rome to JFK and first class from JFK to Dallas. Both flights were on Delta.
  19. We sailed on a 16 day transatlantic from Miami to Rome this past March. We were in a Concierge suite (via two category upgrade offer). The cost was quite a bit less than $1000 per day. While onboard, we booked a 15 night Miami to Montreal cruise for next May aboard the Navigator. It is also quite a bit less than $1000 per day. While these two might not be appealing to some, we like the itineraries. I guess it depends on what you are looking for.
  20. Yes. I use their app. It’s very convenient. They even have a “Latest News” option which keeps the news current. you only have to download the paper once daily and you can bypass using your browser, which is dependent on continuous Internet connectivity. We are sailing again on the Equinox Sept 26th. We really like that ship. A real plus was using Celebrity air to fly in a day early. Our roundtrip cost was less than $175!
  21. I don’t think you will have a problem. We downloaded the WSJ daily last year without a problem. I’m sure the Times app is comparable. Enjoy.
