  1. Good afternoon. Seville what a beautiful city. Today we toured portions of the river, checked out some of the beautiful homes from the Exposition of yore, Presidential Palace. Such a clean a vibrant city. The tour included and ended with a large Tapas lunch and lot’s of wine. Tonight we are headed back to a specialty restaurant as with 24 hour pre request they are providing us with a Dover Sole dinner. Had it twice last cruise and it was fantastic. Tonight they are bringing an entourage of local and cultural entertainers onboard for our enjoyment. We leave for Lisbon tomorrow. Our tour in Lisbon is taking us to Fatima. After our Tapas lunch we needed siestas and we are now ready to face tonight’s activities. Thanks for the reports and prayers for those in need. Bruce
  2. Guide offered but this old coot knows my limitations.
  3. If you travel to Seville there are many wonderful and historic places to see and visit. It’s a historical overload. Today we enjoyed a guided tour of Seville Cathedral. Why guided? We would have walked over Christopher Columbus son’s crypt and had no idea and later that we were looking at Christopher Columbus’s actual crypt and memorial. The gold gilded altar is the largest in the world. It’s the largest Gothic Cathedral in the world and third largest cathedral in Europe. Tomorrow a river cruise more tapas and of course wine. Happy days!
  4. Great dinner in Prime C tonight on our two night over stay in Seville, Spain on Journey. Toured Seville Cathedral today the largest Gothic church in the world and third largest in Europe. Only St. Peter’s in Rome and St. Paul’s in Rome. Plus it’s golden gilded altar is the largest in world. Maybe pics on a separate post. Excuse menu clips but when asked I got a full slab menu which was hard to copy. A great dinner and fantastic wait staff.
  5. Just finished touring Seville Cathedral the largest Gothic Cathedral in the world and third largest Cathedral in Europe. The altar all coated in gilded gold is the largest altar in the world. The monument of four figures holding a casket is the burial chamber of Christopher Columbus. Today Seville is bustling as it Corpus Christo day a Holy Day and in this area of Spain also a holiday. Two night’s here tomorrow another tour and adventure.
  6. Amazing we are still backing up the narrow river through a narrow portion of the river through a small draw bridge. Just guessing that we backed almost a mile! We just stopped.
  7. Good morning. We have a foggy and rainy morning as we sail up the river to Seville. We just passed through the river lock and our now passing under the suspension bridge with a few meters to spare. We have two overnights here. This afternoon we are going to visit the cathedral. Recently discovered that Christopher Columbus is buried there. Nice advantage with these 30,000 ton ships is there ability to go where larger ships can’t. We had a wonderful dining experience in the Italian themed Aqualina restaurant last night and tonight we’ll dine in Prime C the steak themed venue. Specialty dining is free for suite guest. Chefs Table is not free. We are backing into our berth so time to get ready. Thanks for the report.
  8. Tomato Caprese for starter. Then watermelon salad and homemade gnocchi with Italian sausage with a too die for marinara sauce that I asked for extra sauce. Wife had the Branzino and loved it.
  9. In Gibraltar harbor hundreds of dolphin sightings and now we are on our way to Seville enjoying a large dram of single malt whisky on balcony after our outstanding dinner at Aqualina followed by a great crew production show. Can tell we are in a major shipping lane as 15 ships in view here on our port side. The Mediterranean and Atlantic meet which makes the importance of Gibraltar more evident. Great experience.
  10. Yesterday we had a beautiful day to enjoy Malaga. We did a guided walking tour around city center, palace, Roman theater ruins and San Maria Cathedral. The tour included two stops for tapas and drinks. First dinner in Discovery and food was great a wait staff highly efficient. Today we arrived Gibraltar with cloudy skies and light drizzle. We did a private tour with two other couples. Saw the stunning Michael’s Cave, the man made tunnels with fortifications and of course the dramatic and historical Rock. The monkeys were aggressive and two jumped on my shoulders at same time. I remembered our guide stating what ever you do don’t touch or swat at them. Two good shrugs and they were gone. Good tour and guide. Headed to Aqualina in an hour. Life is good on the beautiful Journey.
  11. Greetings from Gibraltar. We toured Michael’s Cave, the man made fortified tunnels all of which was pretty dramatic. Lite rain this morning but it’s starting to clear and we can see Africa. The monkey’s are pretty aggressive and I had jump on my shoulders at the same time. We were told not to touch as they will bite. I shrugged them off and no harm done. We are here to eight and tomorrow we sail up the canal to Seville. Have a great day and thanks for the reports. Bruce
  12. After returning from our 10,000 step walking tour we took a rest then went to the Den Lounge for libations followed by dinner in MDR. Meals and service was spot on. We watched the guest violinist who was an outstanding performer. Here’s some pics of today’s tour in Malaga. The palace, Roman Theater ruins, Cathedral and beautiful city of Malaga, Spain.
  13. Buenos Tardes, What a beautiful day here in Malaga, Spain. We did a guided walking tour that included the Palace, Santa Maris Cathedral, Roman theatre ruins and two stops for tapas and sangrias. We are here until ten PM and we are excited about finally visiting Gibraltar tomorrow. Last night we enjoyed the guest comedian and tonight we have a violinist. Just got back and after all the walking it’s time to take a break. Having a grand time. Thanks for the reports. Bruce
  14. We had a great time visiting Cartagena yesterday. Toured some city highlights and then had a detailed tour of the ancient Roman ruins with ann archeologist who brought the ancient ruins back to life. Upon returning to ship we enjoyed the spa’s sanctum which is free access to guest in Club Continent suites and above. Wish that was the case on Onward. We enjoyed a wonderful dinner at the Patio. With only a couple of tables being occupied it was like having your own private chef. Went to the Cabaret and enjoyed a great comedian who brought back the days of yore. Just arriving Malaga and need to get ready for our next adventure. Life is very good on the Azamara Journey.
  15. Buenos Noches. With the time change and our excursions it’s hard to keep up to date on the Daily. Another beautiful day in Cartagena, Spain. Visited beautiful city venues and Roman ruins. Drinks, dinner and a really great comedian find us heading to bed at 10:00 PM as tomorrow we again visit Malaga, Spain. Today our tour walked us through prominent parts of Cartagena and old Roman ruins. Our archeologist guide through the Roman ruins brought this ancient community back to life. Thanks for the reports. Tomorrow we visit Malaga, Spain. We basically are sailing around all of Spain. Bruce

  19. Good Afternoon from Valencia , Spain. Up early and enjoyed sunrise with coffee as we had an early excursion. Tonight they are busing us to one of the super venues in area for dinner and special entertainment. Every Azamara cruise has an Azamazing evening. Our guide today said we are in for a special evening but didn’t say much as she wanted it to be a surprise. Should be fun. The seafood buffet extravaganza last night was fantastic. Need to get ready for tonight. Thanks for the reports.
  20. Nothing like first cup of coffee at daybreak from Sunset Bar as we arrive at our first port of call Valencia, Spain.
  21. Last night’s seafood extravaganza on Journey was well, extravagant! Oysters the night before in Barcelona were $6 Euro each. Fresh Sea Bream delicious as well as entire offering.
  22. Bubba he will make it happen in a flash. That’s his job, but no need because everything is pretty much perfecto.
  23. Never made it to MDR as the seafood extravaganza Buffett was to die for but proudly did not participate in desert or homemade gelato bar.
