  1. Hello, We will be on the Nieuw Statendam that has an overnight port stop in Reykjavik in July. We have a private tour booked for the first day but wondering what our transportation options for visiting the city of Reykjavik on Day 2. Specifically does Holland America provide shuttles into the city? If so would these be complimentary or fee based? If not what would our other options be? Public transport? Taxi availability? Any insight would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance, Rochelle
  2. I upgraded my package once I boarded the Eurodam in November. I did not think there was enough wine options to make this worthwhile to do again in the future. I must say though if you are a whiskey /liquor drinker I think this would be a great option. Rochelle
  3. Hi , Here is a link to get your certificate; Proof of vaccination - Ontario Follow the steps indicated for getting your proof of vaccination certificate. You will then be able to download, print or email the certificate and it will appear like the one pictured above by leerathje. This will have the QR code as well as the dates and types of doses you received. I put a copy on my phone and printed one as well. This is what I used to board the Eurodam in Florida this past November. Good luck! Rochelle

So if I understand this correctly; If you receive an email offer with a free cabin you will be given a guarantee cabin in the category offered and you should be able to pay for an upgrade or pay for Club Orange in order to to choose a particular cabin up to the best available in that category. If you receive a Come Back and Play offer you can pick your cabin. I was able to make a slight down grade on the one offer I received so far but, for future reference, is it possible to upgrade on a Come Back and Play offer? Rochelle

  12. It would also be nice if everything could be seen on the booking confirmation. It does get quite confusing when you have multiple bookings. My favourite is when it says digital copies are not accepted, but I am not sure what to do with an email offer other than make a digital copy. 🤪 ?? Rochelle
  13. Does anyone know why they stopped this? If people had to use their own device there would be no ongoing cost, just the initial set up expenses. Great idea of it being available on the navigator app and will I add it to my comments on my next cruise. Rochelle
  14. I am sure there are different ways to upgrade but the one I would suggest is upgrading both of your cabins to Club Orange. This includes several benefits such as priority boarding and on the Koningsdam a separate dining room but most importantly this would allow you to upgrade to the best available cabin in your booked category at no additional charge. So you would be able to move to the best available balcony cabins. You can check out all the benefits here; Club Orange You will need to contact them to inquire about pricing. The advertised amount is $50 per day per person but I believe I have seen on here that number recently has been more like $25. My next cruise is a longer one and I paid $15 pp/pd. I don’t know how long you will be able to keep it as a surprise as the cabin number will show up on their booking and of course the number will be on their luggage tags when they print them out but it will be lovely all the same. One final thought if you do this, is to try and score what HAL consider the second best cabin in this category and ask if there is any aft view cabins available. They provide fantastic views with very little wind and would be amazing in Alaska. Good luck getting an upgrade and have a great time with your family!! Rochelle
  15. How disappointing to have your cruise cancelled but at least the reasoning behind these cancellations is worthwhile and shows HAL as a socially conscious business. They are not only doing the talk but putting some concrete steps in place to help, even at a a financial cost. Kudos to them. I had a free casino booking cancelled this past November and was able to rebook to this coming July. I did not even have to do a refund, they just transferred everything over. My advise would be to find another cruise you would be interested in taking and then give them a call and see about rescheduling. I had no issues at all and I hope the same is true for you.
