That one looks like one of the established brands, Husqvarna. For smaller lawns, they are pretty good value - but I wouldn't be game to let it out of my sight let alone have it mow when I am not home.

Just buffet bacon. I love the idea of community support, but it seems a bit like a Perfect Day lay mission. A bit like the comm bank with those school bankbooks. Get into the schools, and in 10 years time they will be running the Lelepa resort.

Carnival Splendor, Singapore 24 August

I have seen a copy of one of the equator crossing certificates. Did they get your surname ahead of your first name? Great that the captain on the certificate isn't even on the ship. -
Best Hotel post cruise Sydney
arxcards replied to goattyer65's topic in Australia & New Zealand Cruisers
If you are looking at a view for a [more] reasonable price, have a look at View North Sydney. Particularly if you are a train traveller, it is pretty much on top of North Sydney station. Walk downhill (approx 1km) to the ferry to Circular Quay or Darling Harbour from Milsons Point, or 100m to the train to Wynyard then another around to CQ. Check the price to have a harbour bridge view - it is worth the extra few dollars. I would generally second the Marriott, as it is a best of both worlds for us. Currently the prices there are up a fair bit, so much that you may as well Marry it. -
Even better if it is smart enough to return to the recharging dock and it mows a bit each day while you are cruising.

Must have been some really good cruise docos on TV yesterday, unless everyone was away cruising.

Thanks for those. Seems like the northern hemisphere are much like us - good deals are out of season. Here's a funky thought. With P&O Australia out of the way, does that leave room for a ship like P&O UK's Azura to spend the summer here for those that see the P&O brand as essential for cruising? All rhetorical - but it does seem they are making no money from UK cruisers flying to Santa Cruz.

Ship docks at 6am , possible flight at 11am
arxcards replied to driverandrews's topic in Australia & New Zealand Cruisers
Celebrity's advice is for flights after noon, so I am not going to go against that. It is possible on a good day, but a gamble. Another option is to disembark late, head to the airport and buy a lounge pass to chill for a later flight. -
Princess double points promo 2024
arxcards replied to aussielozzie18's topic in Australia & New Zealand Cruisers
I don't begrudge anyone earning a loyalty status and getting their perks. After all, there are plenty of Aussie cruisers who gained their elite status from a 10-pound pom or P&O cruise history, followed by a Princess 2-nighter. That is as long as Princess can cater for the numbers and still deliver on a promise. Elite & suite valet laundry used to be 1 day, and now it is common to be a 3-day turnaround. Priority boarding used to be for a handful of suites (as for Sun/Dawn/Sea) plus Captains Circle Platinum and above. Now add dozens of extra suites, premier package, double credits - maybe they do need an extra tier. -
6 weeks? That went so quick - feels like only yesterday. 😉

Musical chairs is the least likely outcome.

The curious part is that for September & October, they are currently selling Mediterranean cruises, not "Unique sailings". Those sailings are coded in blue - repositioning. Virgin & Princess have shown you can still arrive in Europe in the same time going via Fremantle & Cape Town, and visiting limited ports. Voyager has no Freo booking at this stage, and still has Darwin & Cairns on the way to Brisbane. It is possible they could dump a couple of Med cruises and the current segment to Dubai in favour of a "Unique Sailing" from Rome to Cape Town, then on to Dubai & Singapore per the current schedule. 20th October ex Rome should be enough to provide a unique itinerary that arrives to schedule in Dubai on 17th November. There is heaps of availability on those end of season Med cruises.

I am not sure they know, or they are being coy about something new. Following the 25/26 season, there are no outward port bookings in QLD or Darwin, so there is no clue about her heading north to Asia of Europe. There are no bookings in Fremantle to hint of going west toward South Africa. Transpacifics are usually done via Sydney to get the extra US passengers, and there is no booking there either. Possible it might be easier for them to leave her in Australia, but they are waiting to see what happens with the Red Sea, P&O Carnivalisation or the phoenix of the Lelepa colony. Lots of balls in the air, but they just need to grow a pair and make the most of a Carnival own goal.

Anything that is made from hardwood will be easily inspected for borers, then OK to keep if none are present. Baskets, or anything woven such as prayer mats, are often confiscated for eggs, small insects, seeds they contain within. I have seen a prayer mat from the islands shaken onto a white cloth to demonstrate, with dozens of bits of debris coming out. Drums are another popular confiscated item - usually the timber is OK, but has improperly treated hide attached. The same applies for stuff purchased at markets on any of the Pacific Islands. Some will even give you an approved by Australian quarantine certificate, which is not worth the paper it is printed on.

Princess double points promo 2024
arxcards replied to aussielozzie18's topic in Australia & New Zealand Cruisers
Yep. Extra days just = most cruised lunches, but that isn't much of a prize. In the end, it is just a promo trying to get newer cruisers to change loyalty, so I guess that is their target. For those who already have the benefits, if everyone gets priority and laundry, nobody really gets priority and laundry. A better product should drive loyalty, not quirky little promos. I mentioned to Barb on Monday that loyalty sucked around our choice of coffee, because of app perks and 10th coffee free stuff. We just presume we like them more, even though there are 7 other places we could try in the shopping centre. It is refreshing to ignore the perks and try something new from time to time. -

Pacific Explorer Dining options on Embarkation

How was your itinerary? It looks attractive from over here, and I am disappointed they have pulled the pin on Auckland departures. -
Pacific Explorer Dining options on Embarkation
arxcards replied to anjo's topic in Australia & New Zealand Cruisers
There are no issues with a multi-point thread, as you would think P&O could be consistent across the three ship fleet. They used to be. Debate over? It most likely is, as long as we are debating the same topic and not ending up in a mass debate. Definitively, Explorer - there are 3 strikes on over the top, Cairns & Auckland departures. No barking MDR soup for you. Encounter - there are glowing responses that you can still have a barking MDR lunch. Likely, at least until March, when a barking MDR lunch isn't a Carnival feature. Wait & see. Adventure - nobody has specifically asked, but could be either of the above. -

The first I had heard of this was in relation to Pacific Explorer, and this is initially a Pacific Explorer topic. It is still possible that Pacific Explorer has done away with a barking MDR lunch, even if only on NZ departures. -
Princess double points promo 2024
arxcards replied to aussielozzie18's topic in Australia & New Zealand Cruisers
I think you were overseas when they first announced this. My first preference would be to get a $50 discount instead. Second preference would be $50 OBC. Even as a plus passenger, this promo is worthless to us. -
If you have quantity, try the automated one at Cardiff. Like the new one I tried at Rutherford, for these ones you just empty the whole bin/bag into the hopper and it feeds them into the machine automatically. So quick.

Put down some ant baits and insist there was an ant trail, and they need to go.
