  1. The discrepancies between Princess ships is a real curiosity. One ship, show your steward; another ship, put a paper bag in the bin whether testing positive/negative/not at all.
  2. Even the plebs will often get a "fill a bag" discount promotion. Alas, promotions can change from ship to ship, cruise to cruise.
  3. Their old dark is quite a nice drop too. Might be worth an effort for out next Dunedin stop, if only for the tastings.
  4. Yes, although the protocols require that test to be done within the 24hrs prior to embarking of the 2nd cruise. The next international followed by domestic for Eclipse is on 28th Feb, and hopefully these technicalities are all a thing of the past by then anyway.
  5. Surely the vista gaming lounge would also work, squeezed between bingo sessions. Princess Live is great - for fruit carving demos and the like, but not for trivia. It also reminds me of past locations sitting through boring lectures. On our last cruise, we just voted with our feet.
  6. This will be pretty consistent for Eclipse, as she is mostly doing international cruises out of Australia. When B2Bing has an international cruise followed by an Australian domestic cruise they effectively disembark everybody and luggage, including the B2B'ers, to "arrive" into Australia. If you are covid positive during such turnarounds, local protocols don't allow you to board/reboard the ship.
  7. Congrats on your bottle of Duc. Looks like it is the fleet wide choice of ship champagne.
  8. I guess it doesn't matter, as long as borderforce are very thorough with their search methods.
  9. True. An added bonus from much of Asia saying no to ships.
  10. Perhaps a tipoff to borderforce, identifying a passenger suspected of smuggling 😉
  11. Coral is nice but is the odd one out, with most Princess ships having their International cafe on deck 5. Coral's cafe was a retrofit, and they couldn't find enough space on deck 5. At least you have plenty of days to get used to the differences.
  12. Barb didn't like the shampoo/conditioner on Majestic Princess - declared as horrible. At Coles in Port Douglas she bought shampoo and conditioner bars, and thought they were awesome. I also like the idea, as they are easy to pack and travel with.
  13. I thought your mum would be able to get around the grand class ships with a blindfold on.
  14. Agreed. That page has been around for some time. Just a varied hop-on/hop-off point for a limited amount of passengers on their around Oz sailings.
  15. More or less, chasing the northern hemisphere summer, and the peak fares that go with it. Most of them leave late March into April. Splendor stays, and I think Westerdam departs a bit earlier than the others.
  16. A similar thing happened here with P&O Pacific Star some years back. I don't think the passengers actually made it aboard though, and they were turned away at check-in but suitably compensated.
  17. Carnival Splendor ✔️ Majestic Princess ✔️ Celebrity Eclipse ✔️ Ovation of the Seas ✔️ Carnival Luminosa ✔️ Quantum of the Seas ✔️ Grand Princess ✔️ Queen Elizabeth ✔️ Westerdam ✔️ Noordam ✔️ Norwegian Spirit ✔️ is currently off Sydney Heads, on time for an 11am arrival at White Bay. Also a few smaller ships getting about and just a few larger ones to call for a day here and there on the world cruises. Migration complete.
  18. Ocean Front is between the photo gallery and Vista lounge. They are a wizz at all stuff medallion Say hi to your mum for us.
  19. I hope boarding is slick and the B2B days are a minimum hassle. Enjoy!!
  20. I wonder if the other possibility is if it is carrying too many passengers on the hull. To look up close, she is way overdue for some coats of that special anti-fouling paint. I don't know if too much flora would prevent a ship entering rather pristine waters, but maybe when they say hull cleaning, they might actually mean hull cleaning.
  21. Who is saying that we should stop cruising? I like your maths though, only one ship in Sydney that week?
  22. Rarely, and I do mean rarely, a cruise will call at Cowes, Phillip Island. They are able to have a late departure for the penguin parade, with only a short cruise to Melbourne overnight. We have been on a cruise that called there, and several hundred were on buses to see the penguins. From Melbourne, not possible. For Koalas though, check out Healesville Sanctuary. That is doable. https://www.zoo.org.au/healesville/
