  1. That seems so far away, but still within reach I guess. Covid numbers are on the slide everywhere, and I suspect we could even be mask-free by then. A careful resumption is fair, after all, that is what has happened here - 15 weeks down, 3 active ships, protocols still in place since day 1, and thankfully ships are now reporting consistently at green status.
  2. Any chance you could put a laundry bag in on the last morning, and have it waiting in your cabin when you get back? Get the steward to hide your luggage for a few days.
  3. Not so easy after all the lockdowns. Everything is running behind now. Raw materials, construction, buses, trains, the works.
  4. Yeah, she is a cool ship. Can't wait to get a few more days aboard. I hope you picked up a good deal through the future cruise desk.
  5. Enjoy your day, and I hope they don't mess around with your itinerary too much. Looking at the upcoming schedule, it looks like the weekday peak hours curfew isn't currently in place. Sad you will lose a port. KI is at risk for tendering, but hopefully it will have settled down before you are due to arrive there. Port Lincoln may be the odd one out.
  6. They need more full moons to get the wharf at Eden finished. Quantum's season just keeps getting better.
  7. It doesn't read that way. We are due in Eden on Coral Princess in a bit over 3 weeks time. Having heard nothing, I presume the construction won't affect the smaller ship.
  8. An Australian was arrested in Scotland yesterday for a similar deed. I agree with his observation, but there is a time and a place for everything. Not the time, nor the place.
  9. DL and set up the app any time after booking, and you can set up a profile, and you can do all of your check-in steps and then choose your boarding time 60 days from sailing. You can also reserve your preferred dining times ahead of those doing it after boarding. Once aboard, all you need to do is to connect to it to use the features.
  10. Stayed there a bit over 10 years ago, walking distance to Breakfast Creek hotel for a feed. There are a few others a but closer for the airport, with some also doing the free cruise shuttle when arranged with the booking. There has been a couple of active threads here over the past month or two, the most recent one -
  11. Those that received the generous offer from Carnival a bit over a week ago was for the first 5 or 6 cruises. Yes, I can cruise that one balcony solo for $199, or the first 7 nighter for $446 solo balcony, or 11 nights NZ for $607 solo balcony. I was doing some extra digging to make room for the first one - my flights from Newcastle would be almost as much as the 7 night cruise.
  12. Yes, inside final payment date. I had the same with the first Pacific Explorer cruises back, and couldn't get 2 x cancelled deposits from other cruises moved over in time. I did get told that when I booked though, and unlike FCC, they just became an everyday refund a couple of weeks later. I guess they are happy to do so, but someone needs to find that form in their inbox first.
  13. I owe, I owe, it's off to work we go. Oasis? Too soon, I reckon.
  14. I'm torn, really am. Might do some begging with my home boss tonight and my work boss tomorrow.
  15. Sigh!! Still $446 for a solo balcony for me, no extra discount for being over 55. 🧓
  16. Until you hit 1001 nights in Arabia, it would show as 0?
  17. It looks like they are counting your cruise history in Arabian nights 😉
  18. There has been database issues, and it was playing on which "version" of me was cruising as to whether medallion even recognised my cruises. Via the chat line, they were able to tidy up and remove some of my old contact details that I had updated years ago. The same CC number is shared among some other of Carnival's lines, so it is possible to have old contact details mangled in. I think their DB has been more of a cause of medallion glitches than the medallion app.
  19. I quite like that there are more and more USB outlets, and it means we just pack one phone charger plus extra cables instead of all the extra paraphernalia. Every bit helps when having to pack light. The outlets on Coral Princess were fine for fast charge. There was also a USB socket in one of the bedside lamps, but it was slow charge. It is still horses for courses though, as a Majestic Princess mini only has a single USB in a bedside lamp. There are AU/China, US & Euro sockets, and we will just add a powerbank to create 2 x USBs, and have something to keep our phones charged in transit or in an emergency.
  20. Something like this - $74.25 AUD / 11 nights = $6.75. That is for the multi device upgrade though, as we already have the single device as part of plus.
  21. Have you got yours back for the 2nd cruise, or are they keeping it for the whole journey?
