We walked up to the historical village in Molde, quiet a hike but well worth it didnt even pay to get in ;):)
-
We used SPB on our cruise,1/6/12-2/6/12,had a very good guide Helena, its was a lovely incite into the tsars and st petersburg,if we ever go back they will be on the top of the list well organised and friendly :)
-
We went to Kristansand, the ship docked a little way out of town,we walked in they were getting ready for a beach volley ball tournament so a lot of activety,
The town is laid out on a grid system so its quite easy to get around, the main square has a nice church and a modern shopping mall, there is a man made beach area which was being modenised its a popular holiday resort with the norwegians, some parts of the town look quite seedy, there is also a pedstrian shopping area with a good selection of shops by the time we docked it was our 8th stop so we were all ported out a nice stop but nothing to special as for futher afield i cant comment, worth a few hours ashore tho easy walking no hills,
There is also a port called Kristansund which is in a totally different part off the country, i think our friend goggle will be of more help :)

if you have a stop/port before your vist which has a railway station, buy your tickets there,
we got ours in Stavanger station, the train gets full very quickly so a late booken might
be to late

The card holders dont have to be present,so you couid get 2 drinks for your self if you want, as long as its 1 drink per card its ok ,i used to get the drinks in the ocean view bar whilst DW got a plate of snacks for sundowners
-
A nice trip would be Honfleur, you could do this by public transport but you would need to be in port till late

Hi! I hope the answer isn't already in the thread but so many pages to look through!!!
Firstly, does the classic package include non-alcoholic cocktails under $8 please? yes it does
Also, is there a decent choice of drinks for under $8? I mean, I'm not a wine snob and enjoy vodka/brandy with mixer, and bog standard cocktails (long island iced tea etc), so would I be covered? I'd hate to book the package then find that everything I wanted to drink was over $8! we had the classsic package it included sprit and mixers, the only thing is the sprits are all at least doubles
Also, I'm travelling with my mum and I think she might only have an non-alcoholic package, if any package at all - can that work?! Not a problem
Finally - I've arranged to pay my onboard account with my credit card but with my card provider doing the conversion to sterling rather than Celebrity - as this is the case, am I better booking my drinks package on board? Yes you are you will hopefully get a better exchange rate, also you dont have to buy on boarding day
Many thanks!
Passy
hi we had the classic package and found it good value

Hi can anyone tell me if we purchase a Classic or Premium alcahol drinks package, what does that entail can you have as many drinks as you like spirits, beer and wine or is it limited, sorry but I am a bit confused thanks
There is no limit to what you can drink, this also includes coffes, water and sodas,The only thing is the price allowed by each package>so in therory you could drink 24/7 :):)
-
you can get lattes etc at the bar in the buffet, not sure about juices as we have brekkie in the MDR :)
-
most bars have draught lagers, some have 1 type others 2 last year it was heineken and amstel but only 440ml glasses for $5 plus 15% we had the classic package and drank bottled becks, they also have a couple of bottled bitters but for those you will need a prenium package :)We are planning to go on Equinox, Eastern Med this May and are interested in the drinks packages. Having read most of this thread I think I know how it works but I would appreciate some advice. Do they serve draught ( draft for our American friends ) beer anywhere on board, if so how much does it cost? What's the current price for the drinks packages in Europe? Thanks,
Jim

it was the classic alchol package, the water is whatever the bars have european stock mineral water the naive:),sorry evian water is in the more expensive package
-
Weve just returned from a 16 nite cruise on the Eclipse,we had the classic package and found it meet our needs, espically when you take all the coffes and teas in in fact we had 1 coffe at the buffet the rest of the time we ordered from the bars, even in the MDR also had approx 4 waters a day and a few cans, thats with out the beers etc and JB and lemonades so a real good deal its will cost us nearly £1000 :(:):)
-
Dont forget about the take ashore buffet!
we look at the short stops as a look see,to see if will return for a longer vist as 1 day in any place is not enough no mattter how bad,we have returned for a longer vist to a few ports we have visted :):)
-
Can any one tell me are they still doing the cariffes of wine in the buffet and ocean view bar on the Eclipse ,because we found these good value :)
-
The draught beers where avaliable is $5 plus :)
-
Is there a limit to the number of beer or drinks you can order per day on the Alcohol Classic Package? (ie, 6 beer a day?)...thanks
i dont think there is but you will only be able to order 1 at a time and this will be opened so no buckets :(
-
hi thanks jg51 for price up date,we will purchase the drinks package:) and wait n see what happens:):)
-
Hi all a quick question,if we purchase the package a year in advance and pay the price is held, what happens if the prices are raised on board so limiting our choice,or would the package limits increase
-
We were on the Opera, the bars opened at various times during the day,but 2 were open at 7,and the rest around 17.00,most closed at 01.00 except nite club which was when ever never got that far tho ;)
-
Yes all coffes, lattes etc, from any bar with a machine, also hot chocolate drinks, but not the chocolate fondue any time as long as bar is open so breakfast time is ok,the bars were open at 7.00 so no problem
-
There are a wide selection of cocktails, from long n fruity to martini style and also a wide selection of frozen ones,at a guess it would take a good few days to work thro them, they are avalaible in all bars,my wife liked the melon ball and pinky,i just stuck to becks beer
As for the mini bar we had the soft drinks and beers, also had a few carry outs ;)
Had a few vodka and diet colas in the bars,as they are nice places to sit and it wasnt to good for sitting on the balcony :):D
-
The cheaper one, didnt know it had a number, its the one one the UK website,it had to booked via whoever handled our booking ie TA booked ours and we paid the TA the monies
-
in the mini bar, there were a couple of beers,4 cans of pop,2 juices and snacks which arent included, also some sprits and small wines,i dont see why you shouldnt have it stocked to suit you,its not the biggest fridge but ok,as for the amerrito coffe i never saw it listed, but ammerioto should be included so i dont see why not,the staff didnt seem to know much about the package,so time will tell if the family are all drinkers, i think it would be well worth it, as for childrens package im not sure
it also covers ice cream cups so a dessert from the buffet can be enhanced with a portion of ice cream also you can make up soda floats,we always asked is it included in the package before ordering and was never told no ,its really good if a few sea days are on the cruise but if port intesive and a lot of time of the ship it could be different for 4 family memebers it will work out quite pricey,
on a slightly different tack there was a happy cocktail hour every nite buy on get on free from 5-6

Hi all just back and enjoyed the all inclusive prepaid package,as Amomondo has said that is what was included,we found it good value but it has to be pre paid the only packages on board were the booklet ones, also it runs until you disembark,as this is a new concept it took a few questions to find out what was included,i think if you start trying to by rounds it would be stopped, also it has to be bought by all memebers of your party, all right if only 2 off you and you both like a drink but a large group it could be a different story also includes all 6.7 euro cocktails which is 95% of them and valied as long as the bars are open, also great for a nice coffe or chocolate
Live in Rostock/Warnemüde - happy to help you enjoy.
