  1. we visited in september, caught the very crowded bus and was dropped off out side, there is a small snack bar and toilets close to the entrance.Spent and hour or so wandering around catching commentary from the organised tours it was very busy.

We then wandered down the road to find a bus stop to avoid the crowds and enede up at the sea and a couple of small tavereners so it was lunch time and we had lunch there we sat approx 1 meter from the shore had a relaxing long lunch and then caught the bus back, the stop by the bay is a lot less crowded than the stop outside the ruins,a wander thro Fira which was packed and caught the cable car all i all a relaxing day out :):)

The bus station is a real experience very busy ;)

  2. We caught the train a couple of weeks ago, cost E10 return very comfortable and air conned ,takes about 45 min and goes straight thro the towns so lots to see,its about 10 min walk to the ruins just go straight past the bins and over the bridge, the only thing was we went on a Sunday and it all closed at 15.00 and we arrived at 14.45,oh well been there got the t shirt :):) about 8 of us on the train its not very frequent and does leave a little early:(:)

  3. It looks as if Azamara needs to have a word with it's TAs. Page 67 of todays Mail on Sunday has an ad from Cruise Club UK stating categorically "5* All Inclusive Cruises aboard Azamara" and All Inclusive with gratuties inclusive" the latter is of course correct in part where it mentions gratuities. There is a logo below the photo of an Azamara ship ( pre-refit ) which says "Azmara Club Cruises ALL INCLUSIVE". That is not open to any misinterpretation and will not help in calming ruffled feathers, particularly if a whole new batch of unhappy and disgruntled guests come into the picture.

This whole farrago really does need sorting out and a unified approach from Azamara and it's agents. I am desperately looking forward to our cruise and this sorry debacle will not, I hope, hamper our enjoyment ( although I'm still sore about having to pay for fizzy water and alcohol free beer when gin, wine, vodka and scotch are available gratis ) but it is not reassuring to find misinformation still being peddled.

I was going make the same comments :(:)

  4. Also booked the 5/7 nite back to back:):),just waiting for the paper work from rccl(got rev no and 1 set of forms) we are sorting out our own transport

Got a revised set of documents this after, for both sailings showing all discounts etc wondering how big a piggy bank I should buy :):)

  5. A quick question will the wine now be avalable outside of dining hours,ie if you want a glass as a sundowner before the buffet opens

On our last azamara cruise nothing was included, and we still had a brillant time, that is why we have booked again, the inclusive is a bonus going for the ports :):)

  6. Im sure the list will be tweaked over time, does the fact that you can buy packages mean that every time you buy a drink you have to present your card but get no slip, also will you get a bill one the final day saying 0,my only experiance of drinks packages was on celebrity where this happened, also had to query the fact that some drinks had been charged, bud and beer should not appear in the same sentence,my only disapointment is no Heinken or stronbow (thats 2 i know) PS thaks for the list its a great help

  7. They are european taxes which are levied if the ship doesnt leave the EEC,if you are on a cruise where you pay for drinks you will pay the tax on the drink till you leave the EEC its very complex and the Spanish tax people are hot on collecting it,we cruised on a celebrity cruise ex UK and british VAT was levied on shop purchases

  8. Hi Ani

    WELCOME BACK!

I have a question that probably has been asked many times. is it possible to visit Scherwin from the ship terminal in Warnemunde.

I know that we would need to take the train to Rostock and then switch to another train. Not sure which one and the times.

Or should we spend our time in Rostock and Warnemunde? is it better to take a boat to Rostock and return by the teain or vice versa?

Your help is greatly appreciated as I am starting to panic .

    Thanks

    Sharon

we did the same trip, prepurchased our train tickets on line,we followed the directions on Anis web site it was a nice day out,the trains were very busy but we got seats ok
