I can understand why would say that and I would agree based on the limited information I presented in this thread but there has been extreme frustration on both myself and my TA over many issues with the start up of new Crystal in the bookings I have made. Like many other businesses I’m guessing with the frustrations my TA has had, hearing directly from the client adds some backup to the issues we are trying to get Crystal to consider. As they say the more you hear from different people the more a situation gets attention. I have had very great experiences with old Crystal and I’m hoping new Crystal will be at least the same or better and in going through these hopefully growing pains with new Crystal I’m hoping to help them and help me have the best experience possible.

@BWIVince Thanks for taking the time and effort to help me in this situation. I’m still confused in this particular case because I have 3 paid for and 1 deposit down on other Crystal trips and from the information on Crystal’s website I can cross check and was able to understand and confirm my invoices with all those bookings but not this one which is adding to and bothering me as I like to be able to understand everything on my invoices. Thanks again for your time and help. Cruise critic has helped me more in figuring things out than a cruise lines customer service at this point and that certainly includes other lines other than just Crystal. Hopefully on Monday, with my TA, I can get this resolved in a way that I can move on with this situation.

Thanks for the reply and info. Hopefully you can expand on or show me where on the website it states that the 20 day cruise is advertised at the net fare including the discount. That will go a long way in me trying to understand this situation better. It’s been quite frustrating to say the least.

Ok I agree the price could and can change and that should be up to date on there website don’t you think I mean I brought this to everyone’s attention I could at Crystal up to this point and the website, I just checked still says $9100.00 pp. I’ll mention a couple of non cohesive issues that are easy to check if you have a copy of the Before You Sail Guide. You can look at the FAQs section on the website which is what Crystal management like to quote me at the beginning when I was asking questions as far as their policies were concerned. These issues as well as others where brought to Crystal’s attention when I got a copy when someone posted the BYSG on cruise critic and when it first came out I think now a couple of months ago now, and guess what, there are differences, like the smoking policy for cigars, the storage of luggage and don’t get me going on the formal nights dress code which happens to be the same for both yet I have a documented emails from management at this point which conflict with each other on what and how it should be interpreted and my guess is before I sail in December I’m guessing it might change again. Those are a few. Btw I was told by Crystal the BYSG trumps the FAQ’s. YMMV!!

In my case I did not pay anything to be on a waitlist. My TA knew I wanted this specific room and situation and it finally became available and I was presented with being able to book it. YMMV depending on who you deal with or talk to at this point. Unfortunately for me up to this point Crystal has been all over the place with different explanations with certain issues depending on who you talk too that are important to me and I really do hope they become more cohesive in explaining there own rules going forward!

Has anyone recently booked it as a 20 day by itself and got the 5% discount. In other words you booked it and it was priced out at $9600.00 pp vs the listed $9100.00 pp and then got the 5%. Just trying to make sense of this situation which Crystal is not making crystal clear!

@avalon244 Btw the 5% on my invoice is because I’m adding it to cruise after that that I already have booked so idk if this is all adding up the way you suggested?

I never originally booked it I just booked it now and there is the 20 day on the website with $9100.00 price that I wanted to book I wasn’t looking to book it as a btb. That’s a misleading way to price it you are correct and it certainly wasn’t explained that way to me by Crystal!

My travel agent tried first and they told her that that was the price after I questioned what was going on. I did not like the answer and that’s when she suggested I call myself and hear it for myself which I did and got the same response she did. I still don’t like it and nowhere does it say that can can charge you more that what it currently says on the website.

I cut out as much of the private info as I could. Hopefully it makes sense with what is left? As you can see the $9600.00 vs what should be $9100.00 and it is an invoice from Crystal! They had no explanation how they came up with the extra amount they are charging me. Any help would be appreciated as this is an increase of $1000.00 for double occupancy?

The invoice is from Crystal. It is PP with double occupancy. I did question the difference and was to to bad so sad! No deposit put down. I’m getting no where at this point. I have to wait to Monday when my deposit is required if I want to proceed. Frustrating to say the least… Thanks for your suggestions!

Hi Keith when I go on the website for the exact room I’m talking about right not on the Crystal website it’s says the room is $9100.00. I went on the Crystal website and the exact room and the price is as I stated. The room is a double guest room with veranda and is maxed out at $9100.00 I went through the travel agent route. Believe it or not we have the same one. She told me the same thing and suggested we call directly to Crystal. She is quite frustrated with Crystal at this point. My wife got off the phone with Crystal a few hours ago and they said the same as I mentioned above. I am frustrated and decided to see if anyone has had the same experience and is there anything anyone can suggest I try?

No worries! It’s the Dec 18th to Jan 7th before the 2025 World Cruise. i will also be on the 2024 World Cruise with the 2 segments before which includes the 2023 holiday cruise so I will see you on board for that!

We were waitlisted for the 20 day holiday cruise before the 2025 World Cruise. We were informed yesterday our room request became available. On the Crystal website when that became available it’s says our room pricing is $9100.00 per person and that’s what it was listed at when we were put on the waitlist. Our invoice for that room from our TA showed an increase to $9600.00 per person with the caveat from Crystal that it’s because it’s waitlisted and they can now charge us a premium. I’m currently not sure if I will proceed with the booking? Has anyone else experienced this type of situation? It is certainly not sitting well with me!

I’m 6’2” about 200 lbs I wear a 44L jacket and 36” length shirt. I got a large jacket and the sleeves were great length like if buying a tall size and the chest was also just right as well as length so I hope that helps? My wife on the other hand hand to go down to the smallest size they had and still a bit big all around. Good luck!

Ok YMMV!!! Just got the current update from my TA as of this posting. I live in NJ I will be going down to Fort Lauderdale a few days early in my choice of hotel. I do not get transfers for any of that on embarkation. On disembarkation day I will go directly to the airport in Barcelona. I get one transfer to the airport. None when I get home in my NJ airport. So in the 5 transfers that @CruisePfan lists above I get one. If I were CruisePlan I would check with your travel agent to confirm that what Daniele Puma told you you will get. I gave all that to my TA and she sent the email thread from all the Crystal management to me to show that this is what Crystal said, that you do not get what you posted. The email said it will make sure those on board will be told that your post was an incorrect interpretation of the private transfers. I think Crystal should give you what Daniele said you should get, as he is at the level in Crystal that he should know better. Who knows maybe this will change if enough people contact Crystal to let them know that the fine print is not very clear and most people would most likely figure they would get the 5 listed transfers you mentioned in your post. So… This is my experience so far, good luck everyone and again YMMV!!

I’m still waiting to hear back from my TA. As of yesterday she could not get confirmation on the Daniele Puma private transfers amenities list above. It will be interesting to see how this all plays out in the end and where the final say comes from? There is still conflicting information between the FAQ’s on Crystal’s website and the Before you Sail guide as of today! As always with Crystal at this point YMMV depending on who you talk too!

Same thing happened on the January 5th 2024 cruise on Serenity. I only found out checking on Crystal’s website no notice from my TA and or Crystal. Still trying to find out what went wrong with the communication to me that there was a change, and there was a couple others too!

Absolutely great news and thanks so much for getting that confirmation. This is exactly what I was hoping the private transfers would be. I will gladly pass this on to my travel and see what the problem was with her not being able to get this information the way you did. Thanks again for posting this!

@skybluewaters I just checked the invoice I got today for a 2024 sailing and it is 4 months for the final payment.

Good luck assuming! I thought it was as you mentioned above too, but my TA said no go! Let me know when you get confirmation from your TA or Crystal on that is what you are entitled to for private transfers? I would really appreciate it.

I have been looking at something and my TA just literally got back to me with a 2024 sailing I am looking at and the invoice only had 2 1/2% and she said the 5% promo ended July 31 2023 so it’s now back to the normal Crystal Society discount of 2 1/2%. YMMV Good luck!
