  1. She just posted on her blog. Seven Months Seeing the World (2022-2023hal.blogspot.com)
  2. Yes you can carry on board if they fit through the x=ray, which is sometimes smaller (narrower) than an airport x-ray. We were not allowed to when we embarked in Buenos Aries because the x-ray was too small (or our luggage was too big 😁). Best to have your luggage tags handy so you can tag your bags for the porters just in case.
  3. Because you can remove it (or add extra) for whatever reason. It's at your discretion.
  4. Don't know for sure, but I think you're ok if you have the excursions in your cart and don't close your browser. IOW, I think you'll have time to add your cc info.
  5. We stayed in the Hilton near the train station in AMS. They had a "tour desk" that offered a bus ride to Keukenhof, which we purchased. I think it included the entrance ticket. Anyway, it worked well.
  6. You can also check your roll call for ideas. Usually several people get together and arrange a private excursion. Link to your roll call:
  7. In addition to this link Cruise/Travel Insurance - Cruise Critic Community, you can compare policies and get a quick online quote at insuremytrip.com
  8. Thanks. from the article linked above: "Ships being turned away for dirty hulls was not uncommon, he said. About 6% of international ships had been told to clean their hulls before entering the country since January 2020."
  9. Sounds bogus to me, but you might want to Google it.
  10. Maybe this will help. This is the reverse of what you asked but good info nonetheless.
  11. I just checked their website and their quote was 86 GBP from Kings Cross to Port of Tillbury. I agree door to door service is super convenient, but I wonder how much the tube/train would cost. Any idea?
  12. Apparently one passenger was fatally injured. Investigation of very serious maritime accident south of Cape Horn | SHK (havarikommisjonen.no)
  13. Agreed that Keurig makes weak coffee. Try making Keurig coffee with 6 oz of water instead of 8, or 4 instead of 6. That makes it palatable for me. If you want *really good* pod type coffee, get a Nespresso machine. Lots better than Keurig.
  14. We're going on a Med cruise this summer. It's typically hot in the Med during summer, and we'll be wearing shorts. Is it ok to wear them in the MDR or am I going to have to change to long pants? We'll be on the Getaway if it makes a difference.
  15. Note that CFAR polices only pay 75% of the insured cost (at least the ones I've seen).
  16. Thanks Steve. I am covered by Medicare and a former employer's retiree health plan, which is secondary. Basically, if Medicare pays something, the employee plan pays the rest. If Medicare pays nothing, the employee plan pays nothing.
  17. I'm looking for a comprehensive policy and medical coverage seems to range from $50K to $250K depending on the policy. How much do I really need? If it matters, this will be for a western Med. cruise, and we are seniors.
  18. Thanks! I hadn't considered that.
