Question about shorts in the MDR
cruisegirl1 replied to nj356's topic in Royal Caribbean International
Some men wear shorts to evening dining venues. As an adult you can decide what is appropriate. m -
We’ve been on several NYE cruises and every one had a special MDR meal, souvenir menu, party decorations (hat, beads, noisemaker). The meal was always festive. m

Can you book Voom at checkin
cruisegirl1 replied to smalltimecruiser100's topic in Royal Caribbean International
You can’t purchase it at the pier, but you can purchase it once you are on board the ship. m -
Coffee in Diamond Club Lounge
cruisegirl1 replied to z_cruisers's topic in Royal Caribbean International
That would be me-so I always ask. They have regular decaf coffee and have offered to give me that with some milk/foam but I’d rather have a cappuccino. On the ships I’ve been on recently (Mariner, allure, harmony) none of them actually had decaf beans in the machines. They were all labeled incorrectly. I pay or use a voucher to get decaf cappuccino at Café Promenade. I don’t need all the drinks they give me, so using one for a coffee is great. Before all day vouchers, I had to pay. m -
Ha ha-I was thinking the same thing. m

As a diamond member you receive the cookies and can pre-select the welcome beverage in your cabin. You have a choice of a bottle of water, a Can of Coke, Diet Coke, Sprite or diet Sprite. If you did not preselect a beverage, your beverage selection defaults to a bottle of water. If you’d like to have something in place for your next cruise, see the loyalty ambassador. The other gift selections don’t kick in until diamond plus. m

Change to Bermuda Travel Authorization
cruisegirl1 replied to BND's topic in Royal Caribbean International
If they’re just doing it for the money, why couldn’t they just impose a fee rather than create a confusing system? Would’ve been so much easier. The fee could have been handled by the cruise line, like they did for Cuba, or passengers could simply obtain a travel visa like we do for other countries. m -
DOES RC OFFER SHIP OR GALLEY TOURS??
cruisegirl1 replied to catergirl's topic in Royal Caribbean International
A couple of upcoming cruises have the All Access tours for sale via the cruise planner. I was surprised to see it offered. I'll check the dates. Seems covid only cancels free ship tours not those that cost extra. M -
Change to Bermuda Travel Authorization
cruisegirl1 replied to BND's topic in Royal Caribbean International
What ever they decide works for me. I recall many cruises when everyone on the cruise had to go through customs ( on board) when we had a US port ( like St Thomas) after a foreign port, but prior to returning to Florida. We were all assigned a time ( I think by deck or cabin number to file through the dining room. Had similar routine on some European cruises. Officials came on board, and inspected everyone's passport. Got us all through. Guessing testing will be some method, maybe by deck. It certainly will be interesting! M -
Change to Bermuda Travel Authorization
cruisegirl1 replied to BND's topic in Royal Caribbean International
I find the FB page to be mostly clueless. According to RCCL, 8 night cruise itinerary 1, Port Canaveral 2. Nassau 3. Coco Cay 4 Sea Day 5 Bermuda 6. Bermuda 7. Bermuda ( well, a few hours) 8. sea day Bermuda is on the 5th day. Gotta count Port Canaveral as day one. Wish we had the Bermuda itinerary of the last 8 night Bermuda cruise so Bermuda would be our first stop and also we would have a few more hours on Day 7. M -
Change to Bermuda Travel Authorization

I printed the form but it cut the second page in the middle of the initial line. Changing size didn't help. M -
Condolences to your family 1.Plenty of quiet places. You can go anywhere at "off hours" and find a nice place. Central park, any lounge when the performer isn't there, etc. 2. Deck 15 port side to enjoy a cigar. 3. Bars are open late. 4 Try to catch the entertainment . You will find many passengers near, or over, your age. 5. cruise director will hold L&M show try outs. You will find others with your (wonderful) long marriage. The fact that it is your anniversary may help. 6 Generally the same questions are used every week. I'll let you decide how to handle that. Plus the show is run on the tv for a few days. Congrats on your long marriage and best wishes for a terrific cruise. side note - we will be on Harmony July 10. Perhaps I'll see you on the Love and Marriage show. m

Coffee in Diamond Club Lounge
cruisegirl1 replied to z_cruisers's topic in Royal Caribbean International
On a recent Harmony cruise, the machine was closed down and in cleaning mode about 9:00PM. We were in there at that time playing cards. M -
Coffee in Diamond Club Lounge
cruisegirl1 replied to z_cruisers's topic in Royal Caribbean International
If you require decaf, be careful as often the "decaf" beans are not decaf at all, and just a second bin of regular beans. I know that is the case on Harmony. I was told the decaf bin does NOT contain decaf beans. Otherwise, enjoy. -
Yes, some bookings will give you the money back in future cruise credit to use on another cruise, but you cannot get your money back. If you are concerned, you can pay a bit more and book a refundable deposit cruise fare. Sorry, I can't predict cruise pricing. M

Question Regarding Adult Comedy!
cruisegirl1 replied to surfjock27's topic in Royal Caribbean International
Basically, the same shows but they often feed off the audience. When that is the case, the show may slightly differ. The planner will likely not let you make more than one reservation for the comedy club. Enjoy m -
RCCL is making fun of us us Aussies - surely !
cruisegirl1 replied to hammo's topic in Royal Caribbean International
I believe RCCL is increasing specialty dining prices to persuade passengers to purchase the dining packages. Last month we used a BOGO on Harmony for Chops. We paid the first afternoon and went later in the week. The charge was OVER $80 for just the second person. Actually, we both used the BOGO and took 2 family members for a $170 charge! Of course 18% gratuity was added, ( no issue) but because we bought the dinners while still docked in Florida, we paid some extra taxes. $170 to use both BOG0's . Not sure we'll do that again, especially as we found the dining room food to be quite good. M -

NO WHERE does the OP mention fees. Even the introductory sentence mentions uploading documents, not fees. I see no issue with the thread title. M -
Change to Bermuda Travel Authorization
cruisegirl1 replied to BND's topic in Royal Caribbean International
Helpfully the change will make it easier for those of us heading to Bermuda soon. Sadly, Bermuda is not our first stop so we ALL ( or at least those who want to get off in Bermuda) have to be retested once on board to satisfy Bermuda requirements. Many countries have Visa requirements, so it is not huge issue for us. If we want to visit a country - we pay the required fees. M -

Pricing is CRAZY. Royal inflates a price and then makes up a sale! I don't purchase the drink package and don't pay much attention to the pricing but the prices showing on this thread are HIGH. RCCL extra pricing is ridiculous. We just paid over $80 pp to use our BOGO at chops. Don't think we'll do that again. Coco Beach club is well over $225 PER PERSON for the day. Cabanas are $3,500 for the day. My weeklong cruise for 2 in a balcony cabin was less than that! M -
So I guess no RCCL cruises for you. Many ships are at or near full capacity. Full capacity for our recent Harmony cruise ( based in double capacity which is how they count) is 5400. We had around 5200. Close to "full capacity" and just about the same as pre covid. The days of 30% capacity are long gone. We do seem to feel the large crowds a bit more because the ships are short staffed and have a bit less entertainment . Longer lines for dining, an fewer entertainment options, so overcrowding to see an available show. M

Coco Beach Club - Worth the money ?
cruisegirl1 replied to woneill63's topic in Royal Caribbean International
Over $500 for 2 for most of or upcoming cruises! No thank you. We enjoyed our day this past spring, but NO WAY would it be worth over $500 to us. The lunch was OK, we did like the fish, but honestly the bento boxes were not much different that what we get in the MDR or around the ship. We left most of it. Perhaps I am not giving it a fair assessment because we cruise RCCL often and have had the opportunity to have many of the food offerings. I did like the that Coco Cuvee drink. Many who I speak with tell me they like going to an "exclusive" beach. I guess that is what RCCL is selling. We often go to beach clubs (resorts) on various islands with limited occupancy, but with good food as well as open bar for far less than $500 for the day. I hope those who go, enjoy their day . M
