  1. ???? Enjoy them???? Think you might need to be a little more specific for folks to give any sort of advice.
  2. Thanks for getting back with a detailed answer. It sounds like there are attempts being made to curb this problem. That's really good to hear.
  3. @Georgia_Peaches Thanks for this review. Wanted to ask your opinion of the much-discussed "interlopers" in YC issue. It has been pointed out many times (and sometimes with corroborating photos!) of how entry doors are held opened for people to get in. Others have mentioned seeing people sneaking into YC and using the buffet and even trying to eat in the dining room. Did you see any/much of this going on? If so, was the Staff trying to take care of the issue?
  4. Well done! Kudos to your proactive TA, who did this for you! Thanks for the reply.
  5. @Rick&Jeannie How in the world did you manage to get a Reserve cabin for less money than a regular mini-suite? I mean, that's fantastic, but we just don't understand how that can be when it's a higher category. Does your TA have special connections??? We're currently in a minisuite guarantee on the Sky, and are talking seriously about trying for a Reserve cabin. Any pointers to accomplish this for less would be appreciated!
  6. Thanks to all for your responses. We also aren't too worried about reaching our drink limit, but we do order doubles for our pre-dinner cocktails, and given our following enjoyment of wine over dinner, we just would want to "make sure"! ๐Ÿ˜‚ We like the M.O. of taking a glass into the DR with us, and then ordering another one immediately. Seems like that would work pretty well. It's been very interesting to hear everyone's methods of working with/around the system. ๐Ÿ‘
  7. Of course that would be something you'd "hope" for. But you mentioned in your first post that your travel agent had spoken with her Princess rep, who told her that Princess would not be "able" to covert the charge to OBC, or some other form of credit. The original error is annoying enough, but even more so if you have to argue with them, once onboard, to have those charges returned to you.
  8. Well, this is utterly ridiculous! Princess admits the glitch but then says that they aren't able to correct their glitch, by giving you your own $ back? We have a Sky P booked for this December, also with the Premier package. After the reservation was done, we immediately made our dining res. In the App, we could see the 2 dining credits, and when we booked the two specialties, the credits were applied and our cost was $0. So, would you consider contacting your credit card company and disputing the charges? Otherwise, it sounds like you don't have any guarantee that you'll get that money returned/refunded to you, in one form or another. This is not right, you should not have been charged, and we hope you're able to get this resolved.
  9. Really enjoying your Live. Did I miss it, and have you already "reviewed" your cabin? Are you in a Deluxe or a Grand Deluxe? Are you having a stop at Ocean Cay on this particular itinerary? Remember you mentioning how much Gen Z was looking forward to it. Hope you continue enjoying!
  10. And do you get "charged" for 2 drinks off your daily 15 allotment ?
  11. Where does this get "registered" or notated? I've been surreptitiously checking everywhere in our upcoming res but, other than actually purchasing a package or gift, I don't see anywhere to advise them of a birthday while onboard. Thanks for the help.
  12. Thanks @LACruiser88 for the quick reply. We also have the PP package and had read that the wine choices available on that package were, shall we say, limited. But your choices have looked nice. Can you bring the bottle into the dining room with you? And, from what you said, does this mean that Vines is the only bar that will "potentially" do this? ๐Ÿคž
  13. Enjoying your review. Thank you for taking the time. Noticing that you're having a different bottle of wine each evening ... is this part of the Beverage package, or a different wine package for purchase? Or are you just ordering bottles separately from the package. We like the idea of having a bottle, and thus not having to chase someone down each time we need a refill! ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚ Hope your weather continues to improve.
  14. Thanks all ... This is useful and great info to know. ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘
  15. Thanks all for your very helpful and informative replies. What a great resource CC is when fellow cruisers are so willing to jump in, with their knowledge, to reply to questions. @capriccio Hope things are going well on your cruise! We've been hearing so many sketchy things about the Caribbean P and have been just a little worried, but we hope that you aren't experiencing any of those issues. If you do happen to come across any Truvia around the ship, would you please come back to advise? And in the meantime, hope you continue to have a good time. Thanks again for all the replies.
  16. We haven't been on Princess in over a decade, but we've got one coming up in just a few weeks. We've been on 12 Princess cruises previously, but from the sounds of it, some things have changed significantly. Since we live in Florida, we try as much as we can to avoid flying, but in this case, we will be flying home, so trying to avoid items from packing where we can. With that in mind, could those who have recently been on the Caribbean P, please let us know: > In restaurants and especially the International Cafe, is the sweetener Truvia offered? > In the stateroom bathroom, understand that shampoo/conditioner and body wash are in the wall pumps on the shower wall. By the sink, is there a liquid hand soap? And is there body lotion, or can we/ do we have to ask for it? > On embarkation day, if we immediately want to book a couple of specialty restaurants, is there a central place to do that, or must we go to each restaurant directly? (We know we could pre-book in the App, but we have OBC we want to use, so ... in person, once we're on board is how we're going.) > As Platinum cruisers, will we have bathrobes in the cabin? Not sure, but seem to remember always having received them in the past. Would really appreciate having replies to these specific questions, but if anyone has anything else that we should be aware of, we'd love to hear about those things too. Thanks for your help.
  17. Oh golly! We are "go with the flow" kind of people (or, at least we try to be as much as possible!) and we always try to make the best of not-so-great situations, but those issues you mentioned don't seem to be such "small stuff"!!! We're boarding the Caribbean Princess in the next few weeks and we're praying that whatever else we may find, those small stuff issues you had happen will NOT be challenging us! Fingers crossed! ๐Ÿคž
  18. Reading all these comments from Princess cruisers and we're getting concerned about our upcoming 2 cruises! Based on all your advice, we are going into both cruises armed with our painters tape. But, with a view to not wanting to spend time hunting for the culprit, can recent cruisers on the Caribbean and Sky tell us exactly where these sensors are? Forewarned is forearmed! ๐Ÿ˜‚ Thanks!
  19. I think it is so unfortunate (especially for newbies to a cruise line) when people just can't help themselves from comparing the different cruise lines and ships, and unfortunately, sometimes (oftentimes) without the a proper context or even actual knowledge! We're getting on the Norwegian Getaway in four days (yay!), our last cruise in March was on Celebrity (it was great!), and our next cruise in August is on Princess (can't wait!). My point is that each and every cruise line has it's own individual good and (maybe) not-as-good features, amenities, food quality, and service. But these things are so subjective! We find things on each of these quite different cruise lines and ships that we really like, and then the things that we prefer on another cruise line or particular ship ... well then, we'll look forward to experiencing them again another time. I don't know why people, like the one's that @njsmom spoke to, say such uninformed things ... is it just to try to sound like they're so knowledgeable? But it would be so much better for everyone if people like that could just keep those kind of comments to themselves. Just my 2ยข ๐Ÿ˜Š
  20. @mshulman: Happened for us the same as it did for you. However, we were aware that BistroSLM was being closed, so we were doing a daily check in our booking to see what would happen with our BistroSLM reservation. Just a couple of days ago, we saw that the reservation had been changed to Sabatini's, and, again, also like you, with no notification from Princess (which we would have appreciated). Our reservation had been made using a specialty dining credit from the Premier package. We cancelled Sabatini's and then planned to rebook into Catch, but the dining credit was now not showing. However, about a day and a half later, the specialty dining credit showed back up and we went ahead and booked Catch using it. It was interesting that Princess moved the reservation from BistroSLM to Sabatini's, instead of the restaurant that actually replaced Bistro, but, ours is not to reason why ...
  21. To the OP: Thanks for a good guffaw ... or, as the young'uns used to say ... As if!๐Ÿคญ๐Ÿ™„ While your wish list items were all fine and well individually, they weren't based in the reality that we all currently live in. It reminds me of when DH and I go off on a "what if" dream world of what would be the perfect ship, picking favorite features and amenities from all our past cruises on all the different ships. It's a fun and fanciful exercise ... that will never happen or exist!
  22. After @tonit964's post, seems like you might want to consider the same thing for the girls' cabin? The boys WILL be messers, but there's a good chance the girls will be the messier messers.
  23. I second @wowzz comment, asking to hear your impressions of the Sky, fresh out of drydock.
