  1. Hi we are on a very last minute cruise with no prep time. We want to have lunch in Barcelona tomorrow. We are looking for recommendations for outstanding tapas with an emphasis on seafood and fish though some meat is fine. Thank you so much for the help!
  2. Check out Cunard QM2, they canceled last month on the day of sailing. Our cruise was not canceled, it was a problem with the only ADA cabin on the ship so we could not go. It has been a scramble to cancel and rebook with less then 48 hours but we are almost done. Even got my husband packed.
  3. @euro cruiser thank you for your quick reply. It is to AMS (Amsterdam) which is in the Scengen zone and that is our final destination for that portion of our trip.
  4. Thank you for helping, I am sure this has been asked and answered a million times but am really pressed for time as we leave in less then 48 hours and this is a very last minute trip due to our original cruise being canceled and suddenly having to rebook etc. as the original cruise went out of Reykjavik and we live in Los Angeles. So with less then 48 hours I am canceling reservations, rebooking, and having to pack... We are on a large Celebrity ship, disembarking in Civitavecchia and need to depart via plane from Rome that day. What time is the earliest we should book our departing flight without stress? Thank you.
  5. We are happy with our plan B which allows us to keep the post cruise itinerary intact including the QM2. The problem is we have to get to Rome instead of Reykjavik and the flights are limited. I don’t want to book until we know we are getting our monies back from SS. But I also need to cancel hotels etc before penalties kick in. Not to mention I had to suspend packing due to uncertainty of our destination. Either way we leave first thing Wednesday. Monday and Tuesday will be busier than anticipated. Oh well Stay clam and Rebook.
  6. I have confirmed with a guest currently on the ship that the construction continues and deck 5 is off limits. This cruise simply wasn’t meant to be. Just frustrated waiting until Monday to get confirmation of a refund so I can move on with our plan B.
  7. We are booked on the Endeavour for a June 3 cruise, we have just been notified that our cabin has been changed. The problem is we were in the only wheelchair accessible cabin on the ship, which is essential for us to be able to cruise. We are awaiting a response from Silversea. I suspect it is due to the deck 5 construction. If you are on the ship would you mind updating me on the deck 5 construction!!! Thank you so much for the help.
  8. TWA hotel in JFK has a pool and partial day bookings available if you have a lot of time to kill. https://www.twahotel.com
  9. We did a walking tour in Southampton that was wonderful. It was a group tour however, my husband and I were the entire group. It was £10 each Modern Southampton Walking Tour English - book through trip advisor
  10. How far prior to your cruise, do you receive your electronic ticket?
  11. @AusMum Happy to update you after our Arctic cruise in June, 2023. While we will have dress clothes since we are taking the QM2 transatlantic home, I do not anticipate wearing them in the Arctic.
  12. We have done many Celebrity cruises and done the Edge when it was new. This is our second SS cruise and our first expedition cruise. I suspect it will be unique and a contrast from both Celebrity and our SS Moon cruise.
  13. How far in advance does one receive their boarding pass?
  14. Last year we did a 12 nights on Silver Moon Norwegian Fjords itinerary from Reykjavik to Copenhagen. We then flew to Hamburg and spent one night and boarded the QM2 for a 9 day transatlantic. This year we are doing a 14 night Silversea Endeavour Arctic Cruise from Reykjavik to Tromso. We will then fly to Amsterdam for 5 nights. Followed by a quick flight and overnight to Southampton to board the QM2 for our transatlantic to NYC. We really enjoy not flying back to the States, ship hoping is also fun for variety.
  15. I would add if they have afternoon tea with ballroom dancing with the orchestra, go early to get a seat where you can see the dance floor. It is worth the extra effort.
  16. I got confused so please excuse my post if you read it before it was deleted. Jean
  17. I do not know about now but on our previous cruise the mask policy was at the discretion of the Captain. It changed throughout the cruise. This was true on two different cruises on two different lines including Silversea.
  18. @Aulight If you write specialservices@Silversea.com they can tell you to the best of their knowledge at the time which are tender ports. On our Norwegian Fjords cruise last summer we tendered twice, once in Flam and Leon, we were originally docking in Olden but a larger ship took priority. Both operations went smoothly, the crew was wonderful at helping guests, as well as myself in my wheelchair.
  19. Endeavour is on the move. Left Genoa and is passing Monaco as of now. Looks like she will remain on schedule. Happy cruising to all.

    Cruise Sold Out ?

@Host HattieThank you. With all that is going on this week with QM2 it is nice to know this is normal. Not surprised it sold out as people were scrambling to rebook after the current cancellations.
  22. I am not familiar with how Cunard works in regards to sold out cruises. Do they just remove the cruise from the website? We are on a WB transatlantic cruise in June and it is no longer listed. It was there until a couple days ago. I check it often because I am looking to switch cabins to the portside. Just want to make sure this is normal and not an issue with the sailing. Thank you for your help.
  23. @mysty Thank you for the helpful information. Packing is my second to least part of traveling. It is a constant battle to be practical about we we can reasonably manage. I am looking forward to GV as we will only have a night or two pre-cruise and not a lot of weather to contend with. Our upcoming June trip is two cruise ships, two land parts, and lots of varied weather. A packing nightmare. I do not know how the carryon people do it. Best, Jean
  24. @mysty Hi I am enjoying following this thread and learning a lot. When you can would you circle back to which luggage you landed on and also about the insurance you were having requoted. Thanks, Jean
