  1. Hi RuthC, Thanks for your comments....those were the days. I'm sure some folks probably think we are talking about crossing over on the Mayflower! I think we now get too caught up with staying connected that we've forgotten how to truly relax and just enjoy being on a ship. But, that's the world we live in now. Take care, happytotravel
  2. Hello, Do any of you remember cruising in the 90s or before when there was no internet onboard and getting any real news was when you got into port and bought a paper. There were mini sheets from the in house printing onboard but only the briefest of news? We have come a long, long way. Enjoy life, happytotrvel
  3. I love all you folks who are able to take extra long cruises. I`m sure you have had a life time of hard work and are now able to reap the rewards! Enjoy each and every moment. happytotravel
  4. Hello, Since this will be your first cruise on HAL I would suggest also checking out the New to HAL forum aka HAL for dummies. You will receive lots of good information from the folks that have responded. If you have any questions about HAL they will be happy to answer you as well. This too is my first HAL cruise and I've learned a lot from them as well as those on this particular forum. Hopefully, you will also join the roll call. Although it is still small it can only grow as we get nearer to sailing. Enjoy planning your trip. happytotravel
  5. I too was able to make my dinner reservations for my June 01 and June 08 cruise today with no problem. These were complimentary. Enjoy planning, happytotravel
  6. Hi, What do you mean by linking the rooms? Thanks, happytotravel
  7. Hi OlsSalt and others, I have two different booking numbers so for me that makes it two different cruises according to you, OlsSalt. And whatever the perks are it's fun to have them. My previous cruises were with NCL and being Sapphire gave me some very nice perks. Thanks for everyone commenting. happytotravel
  8. Hi All, I will be doing a b2b. This will be my first time on HAL. If I understand correctly my 2nd segment will make me a 1 star Mariner. Will I be getting the following benefits on my return segment? Mariner Society Welcome Onboard Lunch A special collectible gift presented to you on board "Mariner Cocktail" voucher to be used anytime during the cruise Thanks, happytotravel
  9. Hi, I just checked the Port of Montreal site and it states a flat fee from airport to cruise terminal is $49.45 with a taxi. Doesn't include tip. What price does HAL give for a taxi for two? Which cruise date are you on? I'm doing a b2b June 01 and June 08. Enjoy planning your cruise! happytotravel
  10. Thank you, that's the type of thing I am looking for!
  11. Great. Hopefully there will be some on the Volendam in June. Happytotravel
  12. Thanks, I saw that but wondered if there were other things too. Happytotravel
  13. Hi, Do the shops onboard have Blue Delft items to buy? I will be on the Volendam. Thanks, happytotravel
  14. Hello, Last week on November 15 I re-booked my b2b due to a decrease in price. On Saturday I noticed that Black Friday was giving the free crew appreciation promo. I contacted my PCC and she re-fared my cruises and gave me the promo. I have been able to save $600.00 Canadian which I am very, very happy about. When I re-booked I got the refundable $99.00 deposit promo but lost it in the re-fare. I was told that I would also lose 1 of the 2 $100 shore excursion promos on each cruise BUT when I got the confirmations I still had them on both cruises. Have a great day planning your next cruise. happytotravel
  15. Looking forward to the mini jars!!!!!!! happytotravel
  16. Hi, I am now on the wait list for early seating on the 2nd half of my b2b since my reservation number changed due to a lower price change for my cruises. Yeh! I saved $145.00 Canadian on each one. When I get onboard where do I go to check on this? I presume that not all reservations are taken given out at time of booking. Thanks, and have a great day. happytotravel
  17. Hello CGinMTL, I've booked a b2b as well from Montreal but my cruise begins June 01. It is my first HAL cruise and am looking forward to it. I chose this because I didn't want the hassle of flying this year. I live an hour and half from Mtl and would have to stay at a hotel the night before and leave my car at the airport. Trying to make life a bit simpler. I can just take the bus in the morning and get on the ship and relax for 14 days! I hope you enjoy your cruise as much as I plan to. happytotravel
  18. Thanks, I've booked my 2 excursions for the first week and since I'll be visiting the same towns again I think I'll wait a week or so and see if anything else is added. In the meantime I've written down the ones that interest me. I have a $200 credit to spend each week so I'm looking for the ones that interest me within that budget! I don't need to spend more than that as I've been to all those places before. Still looking forward to everything. happytotravel
  19. Hi, The excursions for my June 01 and June 08 cruises are now being shown. Will HAL be adding more in the upcoming months? Thanks, happytotrvel
  20. Thank you to everyone who has contributed to these pages. I started on the last page and have worked my way back to page 233 so far. As this will be my first Hal cruise (a b2b) in June it is really helpful to learn from you all. I will be on the Volendam and am really looking forward to sailing on her. happytotravel
