I did call them and i was told about the 12k. Pethaps if i hadn't asked for the cost of adding a person, but that was information I genuinely needed. And if I hadn't called, I wouldn't have known I chose a cabin only for 3.

The 12k is kind of meaningless since it is more like 7,700 after 'discounts'. That makes me think the rep was new or just didn't look hard enough.

So do as ourusualbeach said, and call back and just say you want to switch to a cabin in the same category as you are in now, just a different location. There shouldn't be a price change. Look online and see what is left (not much). I see (12199 is connecting) and 12605 when I put in 4 people. Call and ask if you can switch to 12605. Don't ask about adding another person now, just secure the cabin.

Make sure the price stays the same or don't do it. Unfortunately, not all reps are knowledgeable.

Thanks but a little upset and looking for insight if anyone knows how their sales go.

I was watching this cruise because family members are doing a group cruise on this date. I've been watching since about late January and the price has only gone up. A cruise out of Cape Liberty during summer is going to be popular. Unfortunately, I would not expect any discounts between now and sailing.

Since the mother has been uncommitted until this point, there is no way I would pay that much more 'just in case'.

    Good afternoon.

Well I am Not usually a Debbie Downer and put my broom away years ago but I want to share with you a disheartening occurrence.
It has me bothered and I am debating how to resolve.

At one of my dinner meals which by the way was delicious,  as the server was ready to pour water from a carafe  I requested as my drink will be  bottle of water ( we have refreshment package).  He looked at me and I said one more thing    “ the way we drink water on board I have noticed in the past my ankles do swell up from  a combination of food and tap water”.
I wonder if it could be the way it is treated that reverse osmosis technique. Or whatever that fancy Mumbo could be.

He got me the bottle of water. And I thanked him.

Shortly there after he refills the glasses of water from carafe to the couple next to us  and goes in a loud voice. “Here’s some more salt free water.”

Now I’m pissed. But more so embarrassed.
How he said it loud enough that I was in total shock.   And he looks directly at me. How unprofessional. And the couple kinda did not know how to react as they looked towards me.

Now I do not want to report him know how hard it is to get a job and he is working.
But Is  RCI that desperate to hire rude workers.

Ok. I got it off my chest.

    Thanks for tuning in

    addendum

I will probably put his name on the follow up evaluation. I hate conflict and that would probably be the best way since everyone is conscious of getting “10s.

I'd just ignore it but I would not want him as my server again. And I wouldn't have explained why I wanted the water. I would just say, "I would like a bottle of water, thanks".

Unfortunately, this idiotic website wants you to enter an email address and create a password FIRST, before it even knows if you have insurance with them. I've tried it twenty times with two different email addresses, and spoke to customer support for over an hour. Every time I try, I get the same thing: "invalid email address", so I have up completely. I told the people at the insurance company, but they couldn't offer anything else. So, basically the only way I have to deal with them is just to call them on the phone. I know it sounds stupid, but I've tried everything...

    Maybe try another web browser.

I just spent another half hour on the phone with my health insurance company, and now they're saying they don't see my primary care doctor in their network. I completely gave up on registering with their website, so everything from here on out will have to be done over the phone. So, basically I may have to try and find an entire new doctor before I can even get this situation looked at. They said that if I go out of network, I'm responsible for every single penny up to $10,000... Totally not happening, I'll just have to find a new doctor in my plan...

There is no reason why you shouldn't be able to access your online information. Usually the website asks for name, zip code, birthdate, maybe SS#, and your insurance card ID number. That should get you 'registered' and if not, I would think there is a tech support or member services number somewhere.

A half hour till quitting time... I tried logging into the health insurance website again, and it still keeps saying "invalid email address". I'm giving up on that for good, just to save myself the frustration. I'm just going to wait until my doctor's appointment on Monday and go from there. I was basically just trying to get an idea of what this is all going to cost me. On my insurance card it says "maximum out of pocket cost $9,000", so that's what I'm preparing for. Basically my life savings.

You should really get this sorted before you go. If your provider is out of network, some plans will not pay anything at all, and it will not count towards your maximum out of pocket cost.

Anytime you go to a provider, or have a procedure, you need to confirm that they are in-network for best reimbursement.

Also check to see which labs are in-network. Your doctor will probably do at least basic bloodwork and that is very expensive if you go out of network. Know your labs and if they want to take blood in the office, tell them what lab you want it to go to (for ex Quest, LabCorp, etc). Learned this the hard way!

I was also advised that what you receive is based on lead guest so me and dh picked different options so when we book in future we will switch between lead guests to get more variety without have int to call in every time.

This has never worked for me. I am always the lead guest on the booking and my husband is always the one who gets the gift choice. I finally made both choices the same so I would get what I wanted.

Hey you are lucky - when I called in today all I could hear was chickens in the background - I kid you not the entire call I heard chickens.I have no idea where they were .

I called Celebrity yesterday and there was a woman screaming in the background. The guy was like, 'sorry, I'm working from home. My windows are open, I don't know why people are screaming.' It continued and he apologized a few more times for the 'screaming'. Then he put me on hold, never to return, and I gave up after 35 minutes.

However, the beds on the Independance in October were so worn out and concaved, a homeless shelter probably has better bedding. The dining room and Windjammer food on the Mariner in December was awful, the quality of the meat and chicken was so bad it was disgusting.

In the before times, I remember getting a generous fcc because I complained that the beds were too hard. Maybe Anthem. And who can forget when they were serving chicken necks and spines in the MDR. The more things change, the more they stay the same.

They throw things at the wall and see what sticks.

Love your breakfast and your dishes — I used them in the 70’s.  But . . . You can tell me to mind my own business if you want.  These corelle plates sold prior to 2005 have high levels of lead.  The company now recommends them for “decorative” purposes only.  Of course if you are old like me you might think — “What the heck?  I have been using these plates for many years with no problems.”  But research states lead dinnerware can be very detrimental to children especially.  Lots of information online.  I saw your plates and thought that I had to say something.  Please forgive me if this is offensive to anyone.

    Happy New Year!  Katherine

I didn't know this. I have some old plates where the edges are wearing that I was keeping as extras. Time for them to go, I guess.

In our house, we have a rule that the car doesn't leave the driveway until the passports are physically produced in the car.  My son used to roll his eyes at me every time I would pull them out of the passport holder in the car and verify we had the right ones, not the expired ones but it works for us!

I do the same. They have to take them out and show me before we leave the driveway.

  12. I've booked a few guarantees and have been happy with the result, until this past one. I was in an inside and I figured any balcony would be great. Loved the location that I got,  but it was a connecting room with noisy neighbors. Still, it was a good price and they quieted down on night 3. You really have to be prepared to not get your optimal choice.

If they charge you, they should give you a receipt to sign.  At that point, you tell them to use a voucher.

Six cruises since restart and the only place I've told them to use the voucher was Johnny Rockets (for an adult shake) and only because there's also a 50% off coupon.  Obviously YMMV.

No receipt offered, and no idea why they charged me. If I was on the borderline of voucher usage, maybe, but I had multiple vouchers left.

Pretty sure you don't actually have to ask. If you have drink vouchers available, they will automatically use them. Which means that if you don't want to use one (say for a bottle of water), you specifically have to tell them not to use your voucher.

Meaning that vouchers are opt-out, not opt-in.😉

Not true, we were charged for a glass of wine on our last night, even though we had several vouchers left over. I would mention the vouchers every time, even to your assistant waiter who should know better...

  15. No way. We just sailed via Miami and even though they told us to be in line at 7am, we waited due to 'delays' for about half an hour. We finally got outside about 7:40am and we were in the luggage carry off line. Line was very, very long behind us.

To answer your question, maybe 10am at the very earliest. You would have to carry off your own luggage and grab a cab (not a shuttle, not an Uber) as soon as you get outside.
