if you only dine in one you’ll miss out on a great feature of these ships - variety!

We love E class and love the choice of signature items in the different MDRs.

Our least favorite is Cosmopolitan - because it’s too normal.

My favorite is Normandie, DW loves Cyprus.

What do you love about Normandi, and what does your wife love about Cyprus?  Those were the two I was considering.  Honestly, we just prefer to have the same waitstaff every evening.  I find that it makes dining go more smoothly when they learn our preferences.

Rum Bum is no more as they were replaced as the concession operator a couple of years ago. The current consession operator is Horseshoe Bay Live.

That's fine.  As long as there is some sort of bar still there with food there and shaded areas to sit in near the bar.  That's all that matters.  🙂

  3. I guess I'll be visiting the Maitre'd in one of the main dining rooms as soon as possible when we board.  I hate waiting in lines to be seated for dining. Plus, we prefer to have the same waitstaff every night.  Now I guess we'll need to decide which main dining room we prefer to be in every evening for dinner.

  4. After doing more research, I booked Ultimate Beach Experience - Resort World Day Pass.  Total cost with Celebrity for 2 of us was just under $90 - we have OBC with Celebrity, so it makes sense.  It includes beach chairs plus one drink each.  I had read on tripadvisor that it cost $75 for two chairs with an umbrella on Paradise Beach.  It's extremely uncomfortable for me just to sit/lie on a towel, so chairs are a necessity.

If anybody here has done this excursion, I'd love to read more about it.  Thanks!

  5. Going on a cruise with Celebrity which has a stop on Bimini.  I was looking through the excursions, and Celebrity has one that goes to Paradise Beach and includes chairs for $40+ pp.  I was wondering if we just went on our own, what the cost of chair rentals would be.

We had 6240 on our B2B in March.  Loved it.  Yes, it was larger and I believe even larger than when we had 6242. We had 6238 once and we felt we were like way back in a tunnel.  All are angled balconies.  We like the bed near the balcony to recline and relax while watching out.

That's what I thought.  I went ahead and switched our cabin to 6240.

  7. I'm considering the above 2 hour excursion when we're in Bermuda in August on the Pearl.  If you have done this excursion through NCL, how was it?  Was there dancing on board, what kind of music did they play, and most importantly, how were their rum swizzles?  When we did the snorkel excursion with them through Celebrity this past Oct, they were kind of weak.

  8. We're cruising on Celebrity Silhouette and one of the stops in Tobago.  We were booked on a beach excursion through Celebrity, but decided to cancel it and just stay onboard the ship.

does anyone know how far tobacco bay is from the orange ferry? how would I get there if I cant walk? how about crystal caves

Take a taxi from St. George's to Tobacco Bay or Crystal Caves, because it is a couple blocks to walk to get up to the road where the bus will stop, and if memory serves me correctly, it is a little bit of a hill.

  10. We've done one transatlantic, back when NCL Epic was new.  We sailed towards the end of June from London to NY and arrived in NY on July 3rd or 4th.  We had wonderful sunny, warm weather for a couple days prior to the cruise in London, but the day after departure, weather was windy and rainy and very cool, damn near all the way to NY.  One and done for us.  We'll never do another transatlantic cruise.  Not for us.

You can park right at the port and there is no need to prepay.  We just did it.  There was a lot of talk about prepaying and unless you want to park elsewhere and shuttle to the cruise terminal, then go ahead.  The parking garage is literally maybe a half a block from the entrance to the terminal.

I agree the info is sketchy at best, but I called the parking garage and they said you can park there and no prepay.  I will say that they have a standard price that was 200.00 and we were on a 12 day cruise and that was what we paid.

Would you mind giving me the phone # for the parking garage that is right across the street from the pier, or, in the alternative, the address of that parking lot so that I can look up the phone number. Thank you!

  12. Do more dining reservation times open up once on board the ship?  Today is 125 days from when we board the Pearl.  The only two time slots for dining reservations available at Cagney's and Le Bistro were 5:30 and 9:30 p.m.  Although I made our reservations for 5:30, we'd prefer a little later, such as 6:00 or 6:30 p.m.

  13. It's been at least 4 years since cruising on NCL for us.  Since we're platinum, we get 2 vouchers for dinner, plus we have 2 specialty dinners each with free at sea.  Can someone please remind me how they differ in what we can order with each of them (app, soup, salad, entre, dessert.  I know I've read it on these boards, but was unable to find it while searching the site.  Also, I believe since we're cruising on 8/18, that reservation ability opens up tomorrow for us.  We are also cruising with 4 of our friends.  When I make the reservations tomorrow, can I make a reservation for 6 of us?  If so, do I need to put down who the reservation is for (name/res. #) or just make it for 6?  I'm really out of the loop on this.

I think only the round trip sailings are there. I believe the Zaandam is doing one-ways to/from Montreal so you would need to find alternate parking.

Besides the Zaandam doing the one-way Canada/NE cruises, it also has a round trip Boston cruise, and I believe it is the May 20th, 2023 sailing if I remember correctly.
