I understand the distance, and it would be an all day tour, but wouldn’t be much worse than visiting Paris from Le Harve, Berlin from Warmunde or even Mt. Rainier from Seattle. I have been to Mont-Saint-Michel several years go, but my daughter has not, so I’d love to show her. I know there are all-day tours from Paris, but that involves even more driving. Another option might be to visit the area a couple days before the cruise. Anyway, thanks for the suggestions.

I love this tour. I’ve taken it at least eight times, and once I took it two days in a row with different vendors, riding the train r/t from Anchorage. IMO just as nice as Glacier Bay with up close view of glaciers and rafts of otters in calm water around you.

Yes, there is much more construction than last year. My “city view” room was a view of empty concrete condo construction across the street.☹️ Book a pool view if view matters to you. On the upside, Dania Pointe has more shops and restaurants open.

Just stayed at the attached AC Marriott two weeks ago. Free shuttle from the airport. The shuttle is $20 pp to Port Everglades.

It’s a fun trip, but have mom sit in the last seat in front of the driver. Ideally, they would use the raft that holds more people with a bench seat at the end. The front seats are like riding a motorcycle, and also get much more motion. I’ve taken the ocean raft in Skagway and Sitka and enjoyed Skagway more. In Sitka you are out in the open ocean as opposed to a more sheltered Lynn Canal and could be a very bumpy ride depending on ocean conditions. YMMV.

The ocean kayaking I have done in Homer, Juneau, Seward and Ketchikan were all IMO very stable double kayaks, three or four kayaks to a guide, and we stayed fairly close to shore. You wear a flotation vest, and paddle at a nice pace. No need to race to the finish😊. If the water is rough they cancel. I would be more concerned with those little planes that take off for Misty Fjords.

I had a reservation for 6221 on the Edge. Don’t underestimate the incovenience of living out of a suitcase for your cruise, especially if longer than a week. IMO Since the IV isn’t really a balcony, just a window that opens, for the same money or maybe less, book an ocean view. Bigger room and actual drawers and shelves for your clothes and other necessities.

Just looked at the fleet-wide menus posted above and they are not the menus from Flora. Also wanted to mention that meals on the plane to and from Baltra, as well as meals planned in Quito will be to your preference also.

My daughter is vegan, and the maitre’d, Stevenson, spoke with her at least once and sometimes twice a day about her preferences ( she hates mushrooms, too, and can’t have avocado ). The chef ( one of eight ) made vegan pancakes, pasta that did not contain eggs, some kind of hummus on bruschetta, vegan tostados, just anything you can think of. When she ran out of ideas, the chef would send something new to the table. You will have no problem getting whatever you need, I promise. Oh, and don’t discount the “always available” chicken. Delicious!

I have two friends who booked the Beyond for September, sharing a cabin. They each paid $450 deposit, non-refundable, and also paid about $450 each for Celebrity insurance. Unfortunately, one of the ladies has been diagnosed with late stage pancreatic cancer and will not be on the cruise. Can the lady who is ill recoup any money? Can she cancel the insurance since final payment is not until June? Thanks,
