  1. Prima does have a splash pad/water park on deck 18 forward for toilet trained kids. Be aware that there is no elevator service to this area but rather a flight of stairs from deck 17. One set of stairs did seem to have some sort of assist under a canvas cover with a phone # to call for help but never saw it in use.
  2. Any vegetarians looking for some good proteins? On Prima the Rosemary Lentils side in Onda and the Giant Beans side in Palomar were both delicious.
  3. All the varied upholstery and cushions were so lovely. We had a small Starbucks spill on a chair cushion, windy day on deck 8 . Brought it to the attention of a server who said: “No worries. We have a guy for that!” I think Prima has there own Steam Clean Team onboard 😀 Thanks for your review Pete. Fun to relive my cruise!
  4. Recently on Prima. Cruise Next/Lattitude Desk Rep confirmed that Lattitude dinner coupons can be used in any speciality dining restaurant on Prima with the caveat that Palomar does not include a free bottle of wine.
  5. On recent Prima 5 day cruise. There was at least one evening I recall where there were multiple photo stations set up.
  6. Was on this cruise too and am thoroughly enjoying your descriptive, snarky, photo-filled take. I rarely laugh out loud while reading but had to share some with my husband who laughed out loud too and he wasn’t even on the cruise with me. No pressure with your work schedule yet, more will be appreciated!
  7. Not quite live but just returned from Prima yesterday and had Free at Sea Plus. Staff was very quick to see and acknowledge the “Plus” and offer high end liquors, champagne, wine and waters. For example when I ordered an aperol spritzer at the Penrose, the bartender made it with Veuve Cliquot instead of Prosecco. (Not a waste of Veuve as I had plenty of her on her own as well!) Most wine stewards were quick to know “Plus” included glasses and bottles. They all seemed to really want you to get the most for paying for the upgraded plan. Be aware, however, that different speciality dining restaurants on Prima have select wines and it can be difficult to get one you prefer when dining in another restaurant. They did try, but we had to compromise a couple of times. For example, Palomar has only organic wine and the choice is smaller than say Onda. The wine steward was very knowledgeable and led us to a wine we enjoyed. Waiters were quick to offer and refill waters included in the “Plus.” Hiccups will occur, like a terrible gin used in a Negroni from the Prima Theatre Bar but it was right before show time and we should have specified the gin. In general, however, we thoroughly enjoyed and used are Beverage Plus to full advantage on the Prima and the bartenders were awesome.
  8. Just returned yesterday from 5 day cruise on Prima out of NYC and it turned out better than I anticipated. Booked about 5 weeks before cruise. Decided to be Zen and not worry if we could not get dining or shows we wanted. Resigned to enjoy the ship and spending time at sea. Happy to find I could get 5 Speciality Dining reservations by booking on line ahead and being flexible with times. Enjoyed all of our meals. Onda and Palomar were our favorites. Most shows were booked up and no comedy available by 3pm on embarkation day. However, we were able to book 3 shows and get into others later in the week by going standby 10-15 minutes before showtime. We ended up seeing all we wanted by being flexible and luck of our timing with the varied dinner reservations. So, yes, better than expected!
  9. Thank you for your review Bird! I have benefited from several of your previous reviews and wonderful photos. Like you, I had an overall positive experience on our 5 day cruise to Bermuda. There is always a learning curve to a new class of ship and I enjoyed exploring Prima. Lots of oops and turning around on a new ship. The staff was delightful, so helpful and great fun. Look forward to your next review.
  10. Sorry I could not be more helpful. Thought it might help you and others to know that at least you could sit in the venue to wait for the show rather than standing in a line outside.
  11. Just returned home from same Prima cruise as Bird. Rumors was not highlighted in Freestyle Daily, rather discreetly listed in evening entertainment time lineup. Syd’s Staff would not tell you what day ahead of time but to watch in Freestyle Daily. Two shows appeared Thurs at 7 and 9. My sister and I went to Syd’s at 6pm. They opened the doors and we got a prime seat on the couch. Able to wait sitting down while enjoying a cocktail was great. Yes, the room filled up with many standing. The show was a wonderful and the electric guitar player outstanding. Small venue made the performance special.
