  1. And somebody will have to go to the Trooping of the Colour.
  2. But why eat in the buffet?
  3. Really? Nobody going to the Derby or Ascot or DDay?
  4. Perhaps as well in view of the luggage probs. And still very few children, I should imagine.
  5. The luggage chaos is very uncharacteristic of Cunard. Often the luggage reaches the cabin before the passenger. It is something this ship really needs to get sorted.
  6. This is something they really need to get sorted. I imagine people missed trains and possibly planes this morning, which casts a pall over the whole holiday.
  7. I don’t quite know what went wrong, but it was not good. We were supposed to disembark at 7.45, but were still on board at 8.20. Goodness knows how slow it was for later disembarkation groups.
  8. Mysterious. Try one of the pop ups. They are very nice.
  9. I shall do a summing up, possibly even a review, after I’ve thought about it a bit. But at the moment my feeling is that the least good part of this cruise has been the slightly disappointing weather, which is something it is hard to blame Cunard for. This ship has so much lovely outdoor space, even with its inferior prom deck, that it is made for warm weather cruises. We have two Med. cruises booked, fortunately.
  10. Barring mishaps, lunch is usually 1-2.30.
  11. And when we got back from breakfast, we found this sad but inevitable sight.
  12. I think the Britannia Restaurant is the most beautiful room on QA, despite a lot of competition. It may be rather noisy though.
  13. She was submerged under piles of books. She needs a bigger desk. I said I would go back tomorrow.
  14. I went to the Library to sign the book, and Ashley knew about it but couldn’t find it.
  15. Tonight’s canapés and menu.
  16. Dinner the other day included something called elbow pasta. Your dining room picture gives a whole new meaning to it.
  17. @Host Hattie Do you have a booking on this elegant ship?
  18. These aren’t quite as bad as the ones they used to have on South Western trains, where I always ended up squirting the person diagonally opposite me on the other side of the aisle. Alas, SWT ultimately solved that problem by abolishing catering altogether.
  19. That sad notice headed Preparing for disembarkation was waiting on our bed when we got back from breakfast. 😢
  20. Milk sachets in our cabin are currently Lakeland, if it makes a difference.
  21. Not necessarily. I arrived at 12.30, as requested. There were a lot of people about, but I didn’t have to wait long, as I was Grills. However, the person in front of me had a time of 2.30, and had clearly been allowed to go ahead. All a bit of a lottery.
  22. The word tart is a particular lottery. Sometimes it is a small circular pastry thing with a filling, sometimes a triangular slice from something bigger, sometimes a long rectangle with a pastry bottom, and sometimes a disc of puff pastry with no sides but stuff assembled on top. Usually agreeable, however.
  23. I think the food is very good, though not always what one expects from the description. The veal was very beefy, so not a maltreated baby calf!
