  1. Good morning all! My beverages of choice are coffee, flavored water, and white wine. DH and I are part of DD's team of child care providers and have been since our grandsons were born 7 and 9 years ago. She was lucky to also have her MIL and occasional nanny. I so admire nurses for the work they do. Two of DH's sisters were nurses, as was our neighbor and good friend. Amusing quote, will pass on the meal, drink, and wine. Have never been to China, and have no plans to go. Today I'd like to go to my favorite nursery to pick up some annuals, including more Sweet Pea starts or seeds. Half of my Sweet Peas got frost bitten when we had a heavy frost/snow later than I thought we should! Prayers for all, especially Jacqui @kazu, Ann @cat shepardand Jack @Heartgrove
  2. I just finished ordering and receiving (5) $2000 cards (the max dollar amount allowed each day). At first I was worried because I thought I could do them all in one transaction, but it wouldn't let me. I eventually realized I had to do them each separately, one at a time. Will do one more tomorrow, this will pay for our next 3 cruises. Oh, also the first transaction wouldn't go through, said there was a problem -- and I immediately got a text from fraud alert from my credit card company. That was quickly taken care of, and smooth sailing after that.
  3. Is it 5 cards/month per household or per person? TIA
  4. Good morning all! I also "attended" the service for Jose. It was lovely and so moving. @kazuJacqui thank you for allowing us to join. Cartoonists are needed to bring some humor to our lives, especially in these days. We've been to many museums around the world, and I'm another one who loves Call the Midwife and have watched it from the beginning. I still have some later episodes to watch on the DVR. Excellent show! Will pass on the meal and drink, hoping the white wine is good. I'm thinking maybe Mexican take-out tonight (Happy Cinco de Mayo!) but have leftovers to use....decisions 😉 Debbie @dfishwhat a disappointing day for you yesterday 😞 I also can't believe they would make you room with a stranger in these times. Gerry @ger_77I hope you and DH feel much better soon.
  5. I'll go with the lady to her right, in the middle of the front row. (and compared to the mini skirts of the 60's, these skirts aren't short) 🤣
  6. Agree. Not tomorrow. Friday or Saturday would be much better.
  7. Good morning all! No rain today (so they say!) and up to the low 60's. I'll take it! I never took my bike to school, always walked. Recently birds built a nest in a wreath on DD's house, will share some photos here. Just a couple days ago the babies were able to safely leave the nest. It was a great experience for the grandsons! Between their cats, frogs they raised from tadpoles, Mason bees, and any other critter that comes along, their house seems like a nature preserve 😉 I don't think I've ever had candied orange peel. I'll pass on the meal, drink and wine. Tonight will be Chicken Piccata at our house. Have never been to Lahaina. Unfortunately we weren't able to tender in on our 2010 Hawaii cruise. I'll get another chance on the Grand Australia in '24, I hope we get there this time! Thank you for all the great photos!! Debbie @dfishI hope the ultrasound gives you some answers finally. Enjoy the quilting retreat! Jacqui @kazuprayers as you prepare for Jose's funeral tomorrow. We all wish we could do more. Prayers also for @cat shepardAnn on the loss of your close cousin. I have a close cousin like that, sending hugs. Here are some photos from DD. First the eggs One of the 4 babies waiting for a worm. The 4th was slower to leave the nest by a few hours, DD was worried until it did.
  8. If it is in fact the menu for that day wherever the ship happens to be (I really don't know), that's a good question. I know that things can change (we've had times when we had to miss a port due to weather etc., and they had to scramble to make up and distribute new, changed daily programs. Like I said, good question.
  9. Yes, once you're on the cruise it will change daily. In my experience the Navigator had so many mistakes I wouldn't trust it to be correct before the cruise anyway. But that could be because it was a new app when we last sailed. You'll also be able to see menus and lots more each day. 🙂
  10. It will be available to view on the navigator app. Before that became available, sometimes we would bring it with us, but usually we're back and forth to our cabin so often, it's easy to check at those times.
  11. This is what I have, I love it!! And I had nearly given up on can openers before getting this. None worked for me. No sharp edges, just set it on top of the can, push a button, that's all! No having to use arthritic hands 🙂 https://smile.amazon.com/Kitchen-Mama-Automatic-Electric-Opener/dp/B07FVQLBL3/ref=sr_1_6?crid=14SXIBA9QLPA8&keywords=can+opener+smooth+edge&qid=1651625199&sprefix=can+opener+%2Caps%2C155&sr=8-6
  12. Good morning all! The weather doesn't look too good for meditating in the garden today, but maybe later this afternoon. We're having a steady drizzle this morning and up to 55 F today. Lumpy rug....hmm. Will celebrate teachers though, we have 4 in our family. Will pass on the meal, drink and wine, but am enjoying the photos of Port Arthur (thank you Sandi @StLouisCruisers!) as we will get there for the first time on the Grand Australia. I think we'll make a trip to Costco today, other than that just general housework. The A/C guys were here yesterday for 8-9 hours, so I didn't get much done. I'm SO glad I looked outside where they put the A/C because even though they'd been asked to be very careful around my Azalea, the poor thing was half buried under heavy mud. It will be fine, but wouldn't be if I hadn't caught it in time. 😕
  13. I prefer "Dressy" over formal (some people would think formal means tuxes and formal long gowns are required), and I'm sure many people asked them "what does Gala mean???" I think "dressy" is more appropriate and easier for all to understand.
  14. Good morning all! Thankful to have never had melanoma, I have one remaining sister and we both miss our older sister dearly. I like tuna ok, but it isn't a favorite. Will pass on the meal, drink and wine, have never been to Malaysia. Well it's 8:29 am, waiting for the A/C people to get here (scheduled for between 7:30-8:30.....) LOL Of course we got up at the crack of dawn to be ready for them. 😉 Yesterday was a beautiful day, today not so much. Raining pretty hard right now. I got a lot done in the back yard yesterday, digging out wild ferns that pop up everywhere (other than where I'd like them to be) and general clean-up. The yard waste bin is half full again. Prayers for all, especially Jacqui as she deals with the loss of her dear Jose.
