  1. That's what I was hoping on night 1, but went to the internet desk the next day, (long, long line there by the way), Freddy told me that the weather wasn't the issue, and I could expect the same problems all week. He was right, it never got any better. I had to constantly turn the wifi off and on to reconnect. However, on turnaround day on March 5th, they reset the system, and it was much, much better the next week. Even on the last 2 days when we had crappy weather, the connectivity held up.
  2. Starlink was TERRIBLE the week of February 26th. Many, many internet refunds. But they reset the system at the end of the cruise, and it was like night and day the week of March 5th. If you have the same connectivity, I wouldn't anticipate any issues. Although internet calling wasn't the best. But if you're staying onboard in Florida, you can always use the hotspot on your cell phone!
  3. No delay in getting back to Bayonne, we were already docked at 6:am, when I woke up. But we also got to Nassau on time, if not a bit early.
  4. It depends on what time folks are arriving. A you’d need to provide a fake airline itinerary to book a transfer. I just booked Go Port for a cruise next month.
  5. Yep I asked for a refund for the 1st day. After that I figured I knew what I was getting. I only paid $13.99 per day on sale, and they refunded me $20 for the day!
  6. It was terrible last week. Connectivity was constantly dropping. Internet desk just told me to keep toggling wifi off and on. It was impossible to stream shows and wifi calls dropped every 10 minutes or so. MUCH improved this week. Was able to stream a show on Hulu, and didn’t get kicked off during regular use. Had some issues with wifi calling but difference with last sailing is night and day! And yes we have Starlink.
  7. No we are in Port Canaveral now. Gangway is down for less than 2 hours. We needed to stop here for supplies.
  8. The oasis class ships have a shallow draft. There are only a few decks below water and many more above. So you do feel the motion more on these ships even though they are so large. I learned that at Captains corner on Symphony.
  9. There is no way to know in advance. I was on a B2B on BR last month. Was disappointed to see cans in my room on the first leg for my “welcome aboard” drink from loyalty. I confirmed with the bar tenders that they only had cans onboard, no bottles. On turnaround day I went to Publix and bought a case of bottled water. Got back to my room and found 4 bottles waiting for me! I noticed they were only serving cans at the bars though, until about half way through the cruise, then they switched to bottles ship wide.
  10. Individual and Group Reservations from consumers and travel agents, casino club reservations, loyalty, post cruise etc.
  11. Haven’t had any complaints about my onboard experiences. But they are definitely cutting costs. Just heard from a reliable source that they laid off 60 people from the Wichita call center.
  12. Please let them know in advance that you will be bringing a cpap. The room attendant will provide a jug of distilled water and extension cord. Yes you can request from him onboard, but turnaround day is busy enough. No need to bypass the room attendant and involve the D (or suite) concierge!
  13. If you look on the Royal website you will find extension cords lists under banned items. Not saying it’ll be confiscated for sure. But it could be. I always bring European adapters so I can use the 220 outlets for phones, laptops, tablets.
  14. No way to know in advance. As I mentioned we had cans on first leg of my B2B on Brilliance. Bottles on the second leg. No problem bringing your own onboard. On turnaround day I went to Publix and got a case of Dasani, and brought back (only to find 4 bottles waiting for me LOL). I did bring a refillable bottle with me but for some reason the tap water tasted funny on BR. And the 12 oz cans don’t go as far as the bottles. On NV in a couple weeks and I’ll bring a case with me.
  15. The only difference is that if you are in a suite the drinks are free. This used to be the case for everyone long ago. But I believe that since they went to the coupon allocation they will now use your coupons for drinks like they do in the DL. Not sure if this is the case every time, but when we were in a suite on EX in Sept they took our cards the first couple times we came in the lounge and ordered drinks, even though they didn’t charge us. Other than that you still have a dedicated concierge, 24/7 specialty coffee machine, continental breakfast, and happy hour. I don’t understand the whining!
  16. They started putting Diamond lounges on ships, because the concierge lounge was too full. And this is why they added suite lounges specifically for suite passengers. No one has “lost” anything. Previously D+ could choose between CL on those ships that still had one, and D lounge. Now they are only assigned to D lounge. Which is only fair as suite passengers can’t bop back and forth between the 2. Either use the D lounge, or book a suite so you can get the exact same amenities in the CL.
  17. I prefer once a day service. I tell my room attendant how many towels and washcloths I need to have in the room, and tell them not to worry about coming in the morning. On Celebrity they actually gave me an extra night of captains club points for choosing 1 service a day. And I couldn’t see the difference between twice a day!
  18. We had cans on Adventure in January, then bottles on Wonder in March. Then bottles on Enchantment in April, and Explorer in September. Just finishing a B2B on Brilliance. Was disappointed to find cans on the first leg. Second leg we have bottles!
  19. OMG why is this an issue???? All of the ships have Diamond lounges that have the same amenities as the concierge lounge! We are not losing anything! Remember suite guests ONLY have access to the concierge lounge - unless they are Diamond or above. Why should their lounge be over crowded while the Diamond lounge sits empty. It’s just a way to manage the venues. No privileges have been lost!!!
  20. Just need to let the cruise line know you are bringing a cpap. They will provide a gallon of distilled water and an extension cord. You can fill out the form others have posted, or you or your TA can call in to reservations and get it added to your booking. Your Guest Confirmation will show “BRG CPAP” under your name. I had one cruise where the room attendant didn’t get the information in advance. He was able to take care of it that first day, but please let them know in advance, since boarding day is so hectic.
  21. We are onboard this week. The fire took place while the ship was docked on Miami. We had just entered the terminal when the fire alarm went off. They calmly evacuated all the guests and staff from the terminal and had us wait across the street. We didn’t know the fire was on the ship. We thought someone had pulled the alarm in the terminal. We could see the passengers onboard eating lunch in the windjammer or sitting on their balconies. Didn’t hear the emergency signal on the ship at all. The fire department responded and came back out after about 20 minutes and left. Again we didn’t even know they went onboard the ship. We thought it was a false alarm in the terminal. After we were cleared to go back in the terminal the staff did a great job of getting everyone through quickly. First we heard of the fire onboard was on Day 3 when my husband went up to the pool deck for the corn hole tournament. He was told the boards burned in the fire, which was in the sports equipment storage room. So zero drama associated with the incident.
  22. I've cruised many times since the restart and buy the Emed test kits by the 6 pack! I've tried the test with phone, ipad and laptop, and found the easiest way is to set the laptop on a coffee table, and sit on the ground so you are even with the laptop screen. Yes the test will need to be in the view of the proctor, and you will need to open the test kit while it is in view of them, so trying to hold an iPad really doesn't work unless you have 2 people. But haven't had any issues when using coffee table scenario - must admit learned it from my daughter, but it makes life very easy!
  23. Thanks for the info. You just saved me a couple hours on hold. I was going to call today to check on a block from Odyssey last November!
  24. I usually sail in Aqua class and love dining in Blu. That said, I usually order from the MDR menu. Have done so on all 3 classes of ships. I look at the menus in the app before dinner, so I can order without the waiter having to bring multiple menus.
  25. Me too. For me it’s a 3 step process Turn off Data Roaming Turn off Cellular Data Turn on Airplane Mode No it’s not all necessary, but it’s a just in case….
