    VISTA

Excellent review - agree with almost everything you stated.
  2. I finally figured out that I should not wave my hand but just hold it still in front of the sensor.....it only took 3 weeks onboard for me
  3. Perhaps the difference is cocktails that do not involve any liquor (alcohol free or not) "Virgin" are included and if you are ordering something that involves an "alcohol free liquor" do involve a charge.
  4. Thank Lynn for your correct response - a separate paper detailing on how to complete the end of cruise evaluation was left on the bed with the nightly Currents several night before the end of the cruise. It was also mentioned in Currents and on the daily CD talk. The paper was also available at reception, the internet lounge and in the concierge and executive lounge,
  5. I was simply answering the OP's question if it was like Viking - which it is not, since Viking does not give any choice of wine poured other than red or white....I was not commenting on the quality of the choice just that you have one. Not everyone has your well refined palate and do enjoy some of the offerings onboard O. Obviously, enjoying a lovely meal ashore with local wines and food is the ideal but not always an option when not in port,
  6. No - on river cruise you have a choice of one red or one white that they carry around - on O there is an extensive list of red, white, rose, champagne, beer and port by the glass....all are included in any dining venue during meal times.
  7. Our cabin and 12016 are on the port side under Culinary Center, if you are under the Card Room then you are on the starboard side. I can't comment on your cabin.....but the stage for Horizons is on the Starboard side so you might here something if you are at the end of that hall. Right now the live music stops at 11PM and then it is taped music,.....O isn't known for late night revelry, as most are in bed early due to getting up early the next morning for going ashore.
  8. I am sorry - hopefully your TA will be able to talk with O and get them reinstate your original FCC
  9. We are currently on Vista deck 12 and your suite location will be quiet. There is a door separating the hallway for these suites from hallway for the stairwell, elevators and door out to pool and Waves Bar. The Culinary Center is not a noise issue either as it is not used constantly and generally for a 2 hour session in the morning or late afternoon - there is no loud music/talking nor chairs scarping as people stand at their individual work stations. We LOVE this location and have booked it for upcoming cruises on Vista. You will be happy...
  10. You decided not to take the FCC that was offered? Wouldn't this allow you to postpone the trip and take a trip you would like to see? It has been widely posted on this topic that O is offering a FCC....
  11. We are on a B2B2B on Vista - our current experience, we went through US Customs/Immigration in Bar Harbor, Maine, picked our room keys from reception day before Miami, were told we would have to get off ship in Miami around 9AM. Received a phone call at 8:30AM that US Customs/Immigration informed O that we did not need to leave ship. Next stop at Miami at end of cruise, told to meet at 8:30AM to get off ship and this time we did have to get off the ship, walked through Terminal J as a group, back upstairs, waited 10 minutes and then back on the ship...so procedure depends upon what the countries Customs/Immigration decides.....Either way, even when we have had to get off the ship, it has been a quick and easy procedure
  12. Thanks - I went on all 3 websites and checked their WIFI offerings and was only quoting what it stated on their website concerning their free WIFI included and available options. None of their websites state that the free WIFI included in their basic fares include unlimited devices at this time.
  13. Sounds like same as O offer: Option 1 Re-book another Celebrity Cruises sailing for a later date at prevailing rates. Please know, you'll be responsible for any difference in pricing for your cruise fare, taxes, fees, gratuities, and other non-cruise fare items. Option 2 If you wish to cancel, we'll provide you with a Future Cruise Credit to use toward any future Celebrity Cruises sailing. Future Cruise Credit (FCC) valued at 100% of the cruise fare paid on their current booking to book an alternative Celebrity Cruises sailing. If you used a Future Cruise Credit on this sailing, we'll refund any NEW funds paid above the Credit amount, and we'll reinstate your original Credit.
  14. According to this article, Celebrity canceled their stops in Israel and changed their itinerary but did not cancel the cruise - Over the past two days, Holland America, Celebrity Cruises, MSC Cruises, Norwegian Cruise Line, Regent Seven Seas Cruises, Oceania Cruises and Celestyal Cruises have all canceled calls at the Israeli ports of Ashdod and Haifa scheduled for this week, with several of the brands canceling calls into next week, too.
  15. Thanks for the info - so all but Viking offer a program to upgrade to a package that offered more than one device but none of them included it with their basic WIFI...so an add on that will pay for before cruising with an upgrade bundle or pay on board with the upgrade.
  16. Thank you - so Viking does but you indicated most cruise lines and I am not finding any others that offer multi devices without an up charge
  17. You should try Seabourn (but their free WIFI includes only one device so that won't work), Silversea (oops only 1 device) and Regent (oops only 1 device)- never mind
  18. I am afraid I have yet to sail on a cruise line where it is free (other than Oceania) O does offer it free to everyone now but I believe you want to be able to have many devices online at the same time. The mass markets charge or include in an upgrade package...I understand that you enjoy Viking and it appears they have free WIFI . Since it is not that important for us, it is not high on our list to check out on an airline or cruise line. As you said in your excellent review, different amenities are important to different people and so can choose the airline, cruise line, hotel, etc. that best matches their needs.
  19. I believe the OP is talking about air, hotel, etc. not booked through O. Perhaps they will come back and clarify if the air and hotel, etc. were booked independently or with O. That makes a big difference in financial responsibility. As many have stated, airlines allow cancelation of a ticket and the value of the ticket can be used for another air ticket within one year of the original purchase. Hotels that are booked with a non-refundable rate may be more of a problem.
  20. As far as I can tell, the issue with the elevators on Vista is they now have a sensor that stops the elevator from working if too many people try to squeeze in.. Then a voice comes on asking the last people to get off and if they refuse, it causes the elevator to stop working, It then takes awhile for the elevator to cycle back to working....happened several times on the elevator on deck 4 with many people coming back from excursions and on deck 5 when an activity lets out in the Vista lounge.... you will see a white circle with a red line through it to let you know that the elevator is not working due to overload.
  21. Same on Vista - sailing from Miami to LAX through Panama Canal - 2 accounts and quick internet
  22. We remained onboard Vista for the cruise through the Panama Canal so can only report on WIFI on this cruise/ship. We have had no issues with using 2 accounts and I have checked with several other friends and no one has experienced any problems. I was up in the Internet lounge a few times to print off some things and people were coming in claiming they could not make the 2 accounts work but they had not set up 2 accounts so that was their issue. Hopefully those people not finding the WIFI working as planned will be able to resolve by going to the IT person who can see if they can fix their problem.
  23. It was the policy for years and with the start of Simply More, they changed to 2 accounts for each cabin. For many 1 account per cabin was not an issue as everyone were not on their phones/Ipads all the time. I understand for some that are used to/need to have several devices on at the same time, your DH for his blogging, etc., it was a burden.
  24. Luckily the one device per cabin ended with the Montreal - Miami cruise and now each cabin has 2 accounts so much easier when both want/need to be online.
  25. You did not enjoy the 3 production shows? You did not mention them. Understand everyone's enjoyment of entertainment is about as subjective as everyone's enjoyment of food. We enjoyed the 3 production shows, the comedian (one of the best we have had on a cruise) but the violinist was fine but did not go back for his second performance.
