  1. No - at happy hour it is buy one and get one free so he paid $14.00 for his first drink and the second drink, of the same cocktail, was free..
  2. Already answered......booked an executive collection vehicle, used SM SBC but did not count towards 25% discount. It is clearly stated on the shore excursion page ....
  3. The GDR does have the always favorite Jacques roasted chicken still on the menu Here is a sample menu and it shows Lobster pad thai ( a Red Ginger entree) and several Jacques items - https://www.oceaniacruises.com/Documents/Menus/13391/Grand-Dining-Dinner-Menu.pdf
  4. I just checked one of our upcoming cruises for the pricing on private car/van and it shows a tour price and then a "simply more excursion package" price of NA . When I click on the "?" next to the words "Simply more excursion package) is says "minimum of 5 excursions for 25% off) . So the private cars/vans can be purchased using the SM SBC but will not count towards the minimum needed for 25% off. I also checked my upcoming cruise before 01OCT and it shows the same situation under OLife options - not applicable for 25% off,
  5. I do not believe they have a Welcome Aboard party on the first day ......they do have a Captains party, usually the second night or so, and it is held in Horizons with free drinks and nibbles. Also during the Captain's party, drinks are free all over the ship,
  6. And I, for one, love seeing people dressed up when enjoying dinner....it makes my dinner even nicer!
  7. Neither NCL management or anyone from NCL or O monitor CC - so you will not be getting any response from any of them.....
  8. I believe most people indicted they are fine with an App as long as they offer both options.....since the O ships are small, walking to do anything is easy (and with all of the good food, any exercise is a plus for me!)
  9. I believe that means they don't qualify for the 25% discount when purchasing several excursions. They only offer the base price
  10. ? - could you explain ...are you currently onboard? We have friends onboard and have not heard anything, According to cruise mapper it is on it's way to Bermuda Oceania Insignia current location is at North West Atlantic Ocean (coordinates 32.29208 N / -64.78351 W) cruising en route to US NYC>BM BDA. The AIS position was reported 2 hours ago.
  11. Highly disapproved and several CD's will ban someone if caught.....and believe me, other trivia teams will complain! The majority go to trivia to enjoy the event and do not try to cheat. But, as in life, there are always some that believe rules are for someone else...same ones boasting about taking their drinks from their room to "beat the system"
  12. Seeing the old and new post for Crystal sailings, it appears most men wear a jacket/sport coat every night to dinner in GDR....just going by the posted pictures from people onboard. We did Seabourn to Antarctica and loved the itinerary but not so much the dress up for evenings and Crystal looks similar..
  13. Or you receive both O pass thru perks and TA perks.....
  14. Since I don't use my Iphone like a laptop/IPad, fitting in my pocket/purse is more important to me....choices are good!
  15. Agree - no matter the price I would wait at least a year for the kinks to work out on both Explora and the rebirth of Crystal.
  16. Does it matter whose pocket it comes out of as long as it is in my pocket? My TA belongs to an agency or consortium that qualifies for the OCCAP perks so that puts the perks in my pocket. If I booked direct those perks would still be in O's pocket..
  17. We have looked at Crystal but the more upscale dress is a not for us plus the $$$ of both are above our "pay grade" . Crystal just started sailing again after bankruptcy and Explora is just sailing their first cruise. It will be interesting to see the reviews. We will compare pricing for O with other upper premium lines and see if we find one that is less than O with SM for 2025.
  18. Unfortunately, as many of us are finding, there is no comparable cruise line that has not morphed into the same drinks and excursions inclusion. At least with O, you have a $$$ credit that you can then use on any excursion instead of a "no choice included excursion - usually bus or walk around town"...we are not writing off O yet. We have our 2024 cruises booked under "OLife" so will face this when getting ready to look at 2025.
  19. Already do that but , my phone is the small 12 and when the font size is bigger than I can only see a small part of the page......I use my laptop for almost everything and my phone for calls, pictures, text and emails...each of us do what works for us! My work requires using IT all day so not a newbie to this. My DH does not even own a smart phone. Thanks for the help, though😉
  20. It is Aqua de Parma and is very nice....I love Bulgaria but would be very happy with Aqua de Parma
  21. Perhaps, Bulgaria for Concierge and lower and the other brand for PH and above.....both are wonderful so happy with either.
  22. All good if it works but it did not work over 1/2 the time our first few days so gave up....also for those of us "eye challenged", trying to read anything on our small IPhones is difficult. We would have been fine if there was the old fashioned "printed daily" that we could have requested to be delivered. O ships are so small that bars and food are no more than 15 steps away and lots of servers happy to bring you anything you want, finding any place is easy since they are only 2-3 decks up or down - I think ToxM is right, if you have only cruised on a Mega ship then a working app might have some advantages. When O creates an App for those that want it, great - just keep my Currents on my bed at night (by request is fine).
  23. DIdn't you already reprice doing the ESS? I doubt there will be any sale that good...
  24. because there were things, once onboard, that could only be done on the app....after a few days, put phone in safe (where it is on O) and if we couldn't do without app, we didn't partake. There was no printed daily activity sheet so had to write down from TV the time/place of things we wanted to do during the day (or carry the phone around to find on App - which didn't work 1/2 the time).
