If you book a spa mini suite whats included within the spa area? And does the spa have an outdoor sunbathing area?
In the spa you have use of the thermal loungers, salt room, sauna, steam room, pool and hot tubs. No spa services come with it.
There is no outdoor sunbathing area for the spa.

For my upcoming Breakaway cruise, I paid $1750 pp including taxes and port charges for a Haven Spa Suite. When I went fishing to check out cabin prices on different weeks, I did not find any week lower than this.
I'm happy because I saved a ton of money. The Queen is happy because she's in the Haven AND she has access to the spa.
If the Queen is happy, then there's a chance some happiness might come my way too!

.....and wants to be a cruise director one day. I wish he had the initiative to do this. Thank you for putting your view on display for all to see. It definitely will help kids with their thoughts about cruising.

Our 8/23 week on the Getaway is coming up in less than a week. If thermal spa bookings are still available, I would like to look into it. Not sure if I want to spend $199 for the entire week or maybe a day or two at $45. I find these kinds of things really relaxing and would love to try the salt room. One factor, we don't have a lot of extra money for activities so I need to choose wisely. What would you do? Thanks in advance for any advice.
.....with my wife, aka, the Queen. Having access to the spa was wonderful. We also had access to Vibe, so you would either find us at Vibe, the Spa or our cabin.
I highly recommend what I did, the Queen was continually happy for the week.
Happy Queen, Happy Time!

I sort've didn't think about that. We want to spend some time in Seattle and thought that it would be better to do that as part of the first part of the leg. We figured by the time the cruise is over, we will be ready to go home. We were debating to spend a couple days in Anchorage, but may just be ready to get home.
I saw one flight that had a 23 hour layover . Uh... no thanks, I'll just fly the next day out.
.....roundtrip Seattle. We figure we have relatives out there and we would stop by to say hi.

.....and it was so good it turned me into a cruise addict.
My one bit of advice, or probably my preference, is if I was to do Alaska again, I would do the Southern route. Being from the east coast, I would much rather have the longer flight on the way there than on the way home. When I did it before, the flight was 6 hours to Vancouver but 10 hours from Anchorage with a stopover in Minneapolis for 1.5 hours.

Does anyone know how often they change the water in the whirlpools?
.....with the abundance of water around the ship that it would be done daily.

Thanks for the information, very helpful. One point of clarification you stared decks 9/10 and 12 have the largest balconys. Logic would say 9/10 and 11. Was that a typo or is there something strange that would make 11 smaller than 10 an 12?
.....the Balcony Spreadsheet of course!

On the Epic, Getaway, and Breakaway, it would be Haven Spa Suites. The thing that most people don't realize is that when you go to NCL.com and go to do a booking, the Haven Spa Suites are NOT listed with the Haven suites! So, if you're trying to get in to the Haven as cheaply as possible, and you choose the Haven as your cabin category, you are NOT seeing the lowest possible priced Haven cabins. To see those, you have to look at the Spa category cabins, and within the Spa category, find the Haven Spa Suites.
Again, this is ONLY on the Epic, Getaway, and Breakaway.
.....on our Breakaway cruise last year we had a spa mini-suite. I guess we're moving up the food chain now that we have a Haven spa suite.
And we don't see anything wrong at all with having all the privileges of the Haven even though we are not in the complex.

It's a crap shoot. You never know what the higher ups will do as far as prices.

Thanks. Does the early saver also have to be booked early? Or does it remain a choice for late bookings? I am not as up to date with Carnival policies. We like other lines better and all the perks we get as loyalty members do tend to help keep us loyal. Still, it is good to know what other lines are doing.
.....and here it is:
IT PAYS TO PLAN AHEAD
Carnival's Early Saver program
At Carnival, we're all about you having the time of your life. That's a lot easier to do if you aren't worrying about whether that guy lounging next to you in the pool found a better deal than you, right? With our Early Saver program, you can book your cruise vacation early and know you got a great deal!
Here's how the Early Saver program works:
1. When you book a 3-5 day cruise three months in advance, or 6 day or longer cruise five months in advance, you are assured the
lowest rate with a cabin assignment.
2. In the unlikely event that you do find a lower Carnival-advertised rate after booking your cruise, we will honor it and adjust your cruise rate accordingly. Simply fill out the Price Protection Claim form and we'll take care of the rest. If you booked your cruise with a travel agent and need to make a Price Protection Claim, simply contact your travel agent and they will submit it for you.

Sure, you can make them before. But, as you will find out, many people just wait until they have a better idea where and when they want to eat onboard.
.....this year, since I'm part of the "Suite Life", I'll defer my reservations to the concierge.
Even though I'm not a virgin to the "Suite Life" (I had a suite on my Honeymoon), I didn't know what I was doing then, I had no experience. I hope it will be better this time.

Wasn’t there another thread very similar to this? I just don’t understand the frustration. To expect to pay for an inside cabin, and after a free upgrade to a balcony, get a portion of the balcony fare they never paid for returned to them makes no sense.
OP booked and paid for an inside cabin. OP was bumped up to a balcony. That is a HUGE upgrade. OP is now upset that the price of the balconies has gone down. The price drop and the upgrade are not unrelated events: apparently, on the OP’s sailing, the balcony cabins are under booked. OP benefitted from this when they were upgraded. Even after upgrading all eligible bookings, balconies must still be under booked, so they drop the price to try to attract more customers.
On ships that are undersold, prices will continue to drop the closer you get to sailing. Now that all the inside gtys have been upgraded to ocean view or balcony, it is possible that the inside staterooms will be available for less than the OP paid.
We all have to accept the fact that the fares are a product of supply and demand. The fact that NCL upgrades you after final payment is a boon…they could have just dropped the price of the balconies and left you in your inside stateroom after final payment.
.....the way I read it was they paid for a GTY inside and THEY upgraded to a GTY balcony. They were not upgraded by NCL.

I have already booked it for the first night, before I heard out the $10 credit. Is the credit only for certain sailings or for all sailings?I've heard that only certain categories of cabin get a discount. Don't assume that you'll automatically get a first night discount. None of the NCL reps I spoke with you even knew of it.
.....the credit is good for all sailings, all cabin categories.

Did you have a good time there? it is certainly "a lot of bang for your buck"! This is a first for us' date=' usually it is Horseshoe or Church Bay. when we docked in St George, Catherine's was the #1 choice. I really liked Catherine's...[/quote']
.....do you think I would be going back there if I didn't have a good time?
