My understanding of the process is that the person getting recognized as a Zenith gets to invite the people to the event. That person probably does not know the other Zeniths on board. But Celebrity knows who they are. Why not have Celebrity invite them as well so they all get a chance to meet one another? Seems rather strange to me. Is there a Zenith group? Why not suggest this to Celebrity as a group?

How "safe" is the ship?
Happy Cruiser 6143 replied to PineappleTraveler's topic in Celebrity Cruises
On my last cruise, I left a favorite pair of reading glasses somewhere. I always have a backup pair, but I was particularly fond of this pair. Checked with the Luminae maitre d', but they didn't have them. Went to Guest Relations. She pulled out a huge box of glasses and asked me if they were in there. They were! -
How "safe" is the ship?

I've always left my laptop and iPad out in the cabin with no issues. I used to put my phone in the safe and leave it there for the cruise. Now that I can message and call people and take pictures with it, I try to remember to bring it with me. That requires having a small cross-body purse capable of holding it. Otherwise, I never used to use a purse on the ship--just put my keycard in my pocket. -
Thanks for the link. Just went there and signed up. I've noticed absolutely no difference with the Go Green service. So why not pick up a few extra points and maybe save the cabin attendant a bit of time.

You'll still get that with Go Green.

It wasn't like a ghost town because the suites were sold out. I didn't spend much time in the rest of the ship. Where I noticed the difference was on the following cruise which had 1600 pax. I walked into Bacio and said to my favorite server: Where did all these people come from??? Cruising was just ramping up again after we'd all been imprisoned for so long and the ships weren't allowed to sail and they did not have the regular amount of staff on board.

Interesting factoid on Uber vs. cab: last time I returned to RSW my usual car service couldn't pick me up because he had two drivers out sick and my time was iffy because I'd picked up a rental car in Miami when getting off the ship and I had to return it. Cab was $10 cheaper than Uber and right there, controlled by a cab stand.

All of that is true. All I can tell you is that when I have gone to Guest Relations to register my credit card on the second leg, they tell me they already have it. They're not stupid. They know you are booked on a B2B.

I was on a Summit sailing this spring. There were 350 passengers on the ship. The suites were completely sold out and had been since the sailing was announced. So one has nothing to do with the other.

In my view, Yacht Club's biggest problem is the food and service in the YC dining room. Celebrity is a definite winner in that category. And I wasn't particularly impressed with the reserved seating area in the theater. Nor with the entertainment, for that matter. That is not a high priority for me. My deck furniture all had cushions in October in a RS on Celebrity.

Is Celebrity pulling out of San Juan again?
Happy Cruiser 6143 replied to fedexretiree's topic in Celebrity Cruises
I believe they are scheduled to be released December 12. Would be great to have the Summit sailing out of San Juan again--love sailing on her. -
Will be interesting to hear what you think of Ponant. I wasn't aware they did Great Lakes cruises. I've been looking at other vendors of Great Lakes cruises. And if you find something great to South Africa, would love to hear about that too. My niece lives in Cape Town and absolutely loves it there. The retreat concierge on my October Summit cruise was from Cape Town and said I absolutely must visit. It would be nice not to have to do that long flight both ways.

I had no problem booking specialty restaurants on board on my last two Summit cruises.

Just book it when you get on board. Either your butler or the suite concierge can easily handle it for you. Don't know why they are shuffling the shoreside concierges around. I had an excellent one for my last two Summit cruises. Now she is handling different ships.

I used the Go Green option on my two recent cruises and absolutely did not notice a difference. However, I have not seen that option offered on my January cruise. Maybe it is being discontinued.

I'm aware of the climate differences as I spent a lot of time in California. Had clients out there and my son was stationed there for many years. I could not afford to live there, however. What's interesting is that many Californians are moving to Florida now. And of course, driving real estate prices up.
