  1. My guess would be that the days of getting PUPs without spending money are over based on recent offerings.
  2. Not to mention ungrateful. Would he rather you had not tipped him any extra?
  3. The first time I sailed solo after they switched to the double points offer, I did not get the double points. A quick call to the Captains Club took care of that and I have received double points ever since. But I think it's helpful to check after each cruise as opposed to letting them pile up. Probably harder to verify.
  4. I've only been once and I only went because friends were going and the price was included in my upper suite. If I had to pay for it, I don't think I would go. Dinner in Luminae is lovely. I think the price of Le Petit Chef is a tad high.
  5. I tried digging deep on the TV on the Summit in the fall and couldn't find anything. So if you find it, let us know where. Why they can't just publish it like they used to is beyond me.
  6. I wouldn't want to take the chance of being stuck in one of those cabins. Particularly for a 14-night cruise!
  7. That's pretty much always been my experience with the Retreat except for the night the officers come. That's why I think it's strange that they kicked Zeniths out for "space considerations."
  8. Love the not all who wander are lost sign!
  9. I had no clue my card was anything special, I thought they all looked like that. Just figured it was a new design. I think I showed it once--first time in Bacio. That's it. If I ordered a drink, they just asked for my stateroom number. Much ado about nothing. Now I'm curious--what do the regular ones look like?
  10. I saw a video of one of those. They're small and have no drawers and very little storage. No thanks.
  11. Your handicap SS is larger because you need to have room to drive a scooter or wheelchair.
  12. You will love Luminae--great staff! Give my regards to Lobo, Vikas, Yuda, and Emmy. I'll bet they're missing fighting over who gets to drive my scooter!
  13. I don't mind the gratuities part, although I always give generous extra tips. That money is at least going to the hard-working crew.
  14. Celebrity could fix this problem if they wanted to. Obviously, they don't. Extra revenue to them. Another solo cruiser.
  15. There is no right or wrong way to do a live from thread. Just post your experiences. I hope you have a wonderful time on the Summit--I've spent 34 happy nights on her this year. Wonderful crew!
  16. My understanding of the process is that the person getting recognized as a Zenith gets to invite the people to the event. That person probably does not know the other Zeniths on board. But Celebrity knows who they are. Why not have Celebrity invite them as well so they all get a chance to meet one another? Seems rather strange to me. Is there a Zenith group? Why not suggest this to Celebrity as a group?
  17. On my last cruise, I left a favorite pair of reading glasses somewhere. I always have a backup pair, but I was particularly fond of this pair. Checked with the Luminae maitre d', but they didn't have them. Went to Guest Relations. She pulled out a huge box of glasses and asked me if they were in there. They were!
  18. I always have a hard copy backup of my boarding pass. Once upon a time, my phone absolutely refused to display my boarding pass at the gate. Luckily I had used curbside check and they had given me a hard copy. Now I never go to the gate without one.
  19. And the new Three Pines Amazon Prime miniseries just dropped last night. Assume with all your technical ability, you can get it on board. First two episodes are up. Next two next week.
  20. Jim, I meant Zenith ceremonies, where new Zeniths are recognized. I've never attended a Zenith lunch as I am not yet a Zenith member.
  21. In my view, Yacht Club prices have already skyrocketed. And my TA almost fired me for booking with them--she had to deal with the idiots there. She hated the whole experience. Twice. I would never try to deal with them directly.
  22. I've always left my laptop and iPad out in the cabin with no issues. I used to put my phone in the safe and leave it there for the cruise. Now that I can message and call people and take pictures with it, I try to remember to bring it with me. That requires having a small cross-body purse capable of holding it. Otherwise, I never used to use a purse on the ship--just put my keycard in my pocket.
