The grats are always messed up on our Star Class bookings.  I wouldn't worry about it until much closer to final payment.  If you booked with an agent, they will be able to take care of this for you.  If you booked directly with RC, wait until near final payment and then ask them to fix it for you.  I don't know why this is always an issue, but it is.  I also just recently booked a Star Class (Oasis, Dec. 2020) and they had the grats on there.  I have learned to just ignore it until right before time to settle up.

Good to know.  OK will do.  It’s more fun to be impatient about the countdown anyways ☺️

  2. I have booked a star class suite for a May, 2020 sailing on Harmony last week.  Since the booking, RC has added gratuities twice.  I called CS the first time I saw the addition, and they took the gratuities off after explaining a code was not entered to prevent them from being added.  RC added gratuities again yesterday.

Has anyone experienced this?  Who else do I need to speak to to have this resolved? I don’t want to keep calling CS every time I see gratuities mysteriously appear.

Sorry if this topic has had already been addressed.  I searched the forum for any related topic but didn’t find anything.

CALL.  I just called Crown & Anchor and was able to book the 9-night Caribbean/Bermuda run on Adventure of the Seas for Summer, 2020, out of Bayonne.  Also booked Freedom of the Seas, Southern route from San Juan, for November, 2020.  It's still not showing on their website for me, so I called and was able to book.  🙂

Just did this! Booked my May 2020 cruise in the 2 bedroom Aquatheater suite, deck 8! Thank you Niquein, I was going to wait until I saw it online.

I have told many people that if you want to take a trip, book it a year (or more) in advance, figure out how much you need to put aside each month and make it happen. You'd be surprised the number of people who take a cruise on a whim - last minute and don't understand how much everything adds up to - they just see that $$$ per person. I also always caution them to make sure they don't book a non-refundable rate if they aren't 100% certain they'll go!

For myself - I figure out exactly how much from each paycheck needs to go into the vacay account to pay off the cruise, grats and drink package by final pay. Excursions etc. are paid for in advance out of normal funds. Love walking on the ship and it's all paid for :).

Exactly! And truth be told, my husband is that guy.  Whenever I talk about taking a vacation, I already have the costs estimated because it's the first question he will ask.  When I tell him how much it is, he says it's "too expensive".  Well yeah, but you plan for these in advance, save up, and then go.  Yeah, people are silly.

  5. Hi.

In looking at the Cruise Compass, I see you can pay a fee and be on the Rising Tide Bar during the

70s dance party. I understand drinks are included but I have the alcohol package so that doesn't matter to me. I have sailed Royal before and know we can hang on the Promenade but wondered

if anyone has actually done this and can share if they thought it was fun to do? I love to dance to 70s

music and probably my dh would be in the casino but thinking someone in my family of 20 may want to

hang and do this with me LOL

    Thank you.

My husband and I attended this event, and we had so much fun. Obviously, since it's the Rising Tide Bar, they elevate you half way while the party is going on. It's great because you get to view the entire scene, and you're the center of attention (especially towards the end of the party). They lower it for attendees who need to use the bathroom, and they block off all the plebs who try to get on in the meantime ;p You will want to sit at the opposite end of the bar because that's where you will be able to see all the action.

The provided food was nothing but sweet stuff (candies, cookies, chocolate covered strawberries etc), so be prepared to grab some pizza if you start to feel sick. One lady who attended drank too much and blew chunks in the corner, so watch out for those who can't handle their liquor. The bartenders/servers pass out drink after drink of their choosing (champagne, shots, cocktails, etc), but you can order something specific if you want.

Attached are some pictures I took (it looks like they loaded upside down). I hope you enjoy it as much as we did!

Are you travelling during the Super Bowl? :)

  7. I booked next month's cruise in October, 2015. Mom was planning on retiring and finally gave me her last month. I didn't tell her anything, but I booked a family suite on LOS. On Christmas day, I had her open gifts that alluded to the cruise; cheap flip flops, an ugly floppy hat, and generic sunscreen. Her reaction was funny because she had that look of, "*** is this?" on her face.

Finally, for her last present, she opened a Faberge inspired egg. Inside the egg I placed a personalized itinerary for the cruise with the RC logo. Needless to say, she became very excited :)

    42 days and counting :D

  8. It was my 1st as well, June 1998 with my mom (her 1st as well). We had so much fun. I remember when she had a movie theater, and my brother and I watched The Game with Michael Douglas.

Funny story. I also went on my honeymoon on Monarch. It was my DH's 1st cruise, and I was very excited to be on this ship again. She had been revamped by 2007 and I told him there used to be a movie theater onboard. He didn't believe me because he couldn't see where they would have put it. One night when we were in the elevator, I looked at the different decks listed...and sure enough, there was the movie theater listed on one of the decks. With the revamp, they must have forgot to change out the sign (or maybe they didn't??) We got a good laugh out of that one.

  9. I apologize if this has been asked before, however I couldn't find any topics with a quick search.

When I was on Allure, there was a drink called Drink of the Day. It was my favorite and I look forward to ordering it again on Liberty. However after looking at an itinerary for Liberty, there is also a "drink of the day" for each day, but it's a different cocktail for each day.

If I order my favorite, will the bartenders know what I am requesting? Or will I have to explain I don't want the "drink of the day"...but the actual Drink of the Day(this makes no sense when I say it in my head haha).

  10. No problems here. Coulc you be using it from a system that has it Blocked like at a place of business?

I'm using it from my normal home laptop. I haven't had this warning pop up before trying to access the site, so it's a bit weird. The reporting of malicious content is what concerns me. I'm trying to make a payment towards my cruise
