  1. Cab ride should be about $16-17 each way (fare covers up to 4 passengers in the cab) - current cab rates will be posted on a board near the taxi line for your pier. Admission/chair rental is $5 each with the expectation that you will spend another $10+ per person on food and drinks. There is also an all-inclusive option that is about $70+ per person.
  2. Even cheaper (shorter taxis ride, no admission fee) but with no water toys, pool or sandy beach is the Money Bar. Good snorkeling from the shore, good food, drinks, service and facilities, and a nice sandy area with loungers and shade. Look at reviews online (Mitsugirly has a photo intensive review from a few years back) to see if it would work for your crowd.
  3. Welcome to the boards! 😎 I always check both Uber and Lyft to compare rates and wait times. Typically, but not always, they are the same or less than a cab (and in Miami I have always had better service). Try this link to check taxi rates to your hotel near Dolphin Mall: Taxis & Ride App - Miami International Airport (miami-airport.com)
  4. Flat rate taxi fare between POM and MIA is about $28+tip (ignore the meter if they turn it on). Same fare for standard cabs and SUV & van taxis. With 4 plus bags wait for a van/SUV cab to come up in the line.
  5. Ask the hotel front desk to call a van taxi for your group when you are ready to leave - they know who is reliable and taxis are readily available throughout downtown Miami - you should not wait more than a few minutes.
  6. If you were arriving late the night before your cruise it might be a good option, but two days at the MIA airport is cruel and unusual punishment. 😲 Lots of downtown hotels will offer nearby dining, shopping and sightseeing options - Hampton Inn Mary Brickel is the most often suggested option among many others. If you prefer a hotel with a view of the port try the Doubletree Biscayne, the next-door Marriott, or the Intercontinental. Taxis and Uber/Lyft are easy to access for the MIA airport to get you to your hotel (and also from the hotel to POM).
  7. Cocoa Beach Shuttle, CORTRANS and Cruise Control are often suggested on this board - or rent a car one way.
  8. I would also check with Cocoa Beach Shuttle and CORTRANS
  9. Arriving that late I would choose to stay near FLL and then make my way to POM the next morning. Lots of transport options including limo, taxi, Uber/Lyft and shared shuttles
  10. www.sunny.org has lots of FLL/PE area hotel and tourist info. Lots of hotels in the downtown/17th street area very close to the port.
