Since PHX is my home airport, I can help with some thoughts. British Airways has a non-stop from AZ to London Heathrow. However, they use an old plane for that route.
Most of the U.S. carriers fly that same route but require a change of planes. You might want to check out Air New Zealand. They fly non-stop from Los Angeles and offer a cool version of Premium Economy.
I generally pay extra for economy plus which gives a bit extra legroom but doesn't give extra width to the seats.

Loved the road to Hana. We drove the entire loop as the rental car contract said it was ok on "graded" roads. I had to drive as I get car sick....could never had done it any other way. I would do it again! Very long day but so much fun.

I love the packages on Celebrity. It included fresh squeezed orange juice and the specialty coffees. I wish NCL would either do that or the coffee card like princess.

I stayed at the Hotel Violino D'Oro a few years ago. I agree it is a great location. Cannot wait to read your review!

That sounds great! Do they have a website you can pass along so that I can try to do this also?
The website is nationalexpress.com. Really easy website....

There is a bus from Heathrow to the Victoria Coach Station (a couple blocks from the tube) which I think is £6 per person. I am doing that in the fall.
-
I've been to London twice (and going back this fall). Pick the sights you really want to see, as you won't see it all. I've stayed near Earls Court and Russell Square. This next time is between Victoria and Sloane Square.

Thanks for the idea. It looks like they allow you to book about 2 weeks out.

Princess use two berths in Southampton, Mayflower Terminal (berth 106) & Ocean Cruise Terminal (berth 46)
Hopefully your ship is on this list:
Mayflower is a 20 minute walk to the station, much of it in the docks but on sidewalks. Ocean is 5 minutes longer, but a more pleasant & interesting route.
There's no restriction on walking out of the docks, and it's all level ground, all on sidewalks, roads to cross but with traffic lights to help.
On this map, A is Mayflower Terminal, B is the train station, C is Ocean terminal
Taxis available at both terminals, the fare will be £8 to £10.
Three trains per hour to Winchester, which is a 15-20 minute ride. Buy a "day-return" ticket - pay in sterling or plastic.
Winchester's station is a 10 - 15 minute walk to the centre, mainly downhill.
Follow this route, which takes you via the Great Hall of Winchester castle (the only part of the castle still standing, & houses a 13th century copy of King Arthur's round table), then down High Street past the little West Gate museum, the last part of the High Street is pedestrianised.
If you don't fancy the walk back to the station, there's a taxi rank in Broadway, at the bottom end of High St.
JB :)
This is helpful. I am boarding the NCL Escape later this fall for the TA. Is it walkable (shows Berth 46) from the bus station to the port? I will have my carryon (backpack) and a rolling bag.
Is it walkable from the bus terminal?
I've seen mostly recommendations for a cab but I would prefer to walk as I could at least "see" the city.
Thanks
Dena

I was planning on checking my local walmarts(I live in AZ and they are everywhere). If I don't find them at the store, I will find them online.

Thanks for the info on Senseo pods. I will buy a few before sailing as I expect their coffee won't be as good[emoji1]

Note, I am not happy with all of the new fees/increased fees. However, when I booked my fall TA, my other cruise lines of choice (RCCL/X) were considerably more than NCL. NCL will still be much cheaper. Plus I get to go to an embarkation city I haven't been in years.

OP,
If an individual is in a frequent flyer club -- name actually varies by airline -- there is a page for a traveler to maintain his/her personal profile for each airline. In each of those profiles, there is a place to enter a trusted traveler number. As others have said, this number gets picked up when flying on that airline. But the crunch time for GOES certified passengers comes re-entering the country regardless of airline.
When you got your GOES number, you also should have gotten a small GOES ID card. Did you? (If not, prior to your trip contact the powers that be at the closest GOES office to get one.) Carry this ID card with you on your trip. That way, if you have trouble scanning your passport at the special GOES kiosks, you'll be able to provide documentation for your GOES status. Now that I've read about the trouble you've had with your fingerprints, I'd be doubly sure to carry that card with me in your situation.
Before they offered the ID card, you got a sticker in your passport. It is small and in an upper corner (inside the cover). I had to pay extra for my ID card although I've never used it.
I did get stopped once as the machine could not read my fingerprints. Took about 10 minutes and I was on my way. I get to renew mine next year but luckily, if needed, they now have an office near me.

Your global entry number is connected to your passport. When you get off the plane, look for signs near passport control. Sometimes they aren't so obvious. You scan your passport and then follow the instructions on the screen. Having it in your reservation in the US helps you use the TSA pre-check.

There is a bus that runs from Piazalle Roma to the airport. We took it from the airport as our hotel was near P. Roma. Very convenient....
-
I've taken the Eurostar from St Pancras to Paris. Very easy! We had purchased our tickets online and then you print them at a machine in the station. We too each had a rolling bag and carry on. Of course, I was stopped so they could search my rolling bag[emoji1]. It only took a few minutes. I love the train....

If that doesn't work, try Special Needs at Sea. My parents used them and were very happy. It was delivered to the ship and on their cabin when they boarded. When they left, they reminded their room steward and the company claimed it from the ship. It wasn't very expensive either.

Watch prices. On a cruise I have booked in the fall, the insides were cheaper than the studio. Although maybe not all the perks of a studio, you get more space. I have a friend who booked a studio cabin and as the date got closer, prices dropped. She ended up with a balcony cabin.
-
IMO, I would schedule a tour for early afternoon. Everyone will have time to get checked in to their hotels and meet back at Piazzale Roma. If you have time to kill, there is a neat area over the large bridge and past the train station.

Thanks
It looks like all BA cabins, that I looked at, have the bed next to the balcony:confused:
Are they not alternating bed placement anymore?
I noticed that too, when booking my balcony cabin. I even randomly checked other balcony cabins and they all looked the same....

Check Priceline. We've been lucky with downtown Miami hotels.
-
Sheraton at the Wharf. It is not too far from the cruise pier.
-
Anything gInger (candy, crystallized, pills, etc), green apples, cola syrup (coke or Pepsi but not diet) or meclizine (I buy a bottle at costco). Meclizine is at the pharmacy but you don't need a prescription.

I've been in that situation once[emoji1]. I bought myself a Swarovski pen which I love. Reminds me of my cruise every time I use it...don't worry, you will find a way to spend the money.
Help getting from Heathrow to hotel by Victoria Station
in British Isles/Western Europe

You could take the National Express bus between Heathrow and Victoria coach station. Their prices are reasonable.
