  1. We did a water taxi to our hotel near st marks. Our taxi could get us about 1 block from our hotel. He did help us unload our luggage to the dock. Basically he lifted it from the boat and we set it on the dock. All luggage was wheeled to the hotel.

Sent using the Cruise Critic forums app

  2. I used them in November for transportation only to Rome and back to the ship. There were a few things I wasn't thrilled with (not a big deal) but we ended up with about 5 hours in Rome on our own. We tried to do too much (our fault) and ended up almost running back to the bus. There werent alot of us doing the Rome on Your Own transportation only. The bus dropped us off in a parking garage near the Vatican and picked us up in the same spot. They did take us up to street level and show us where we were to make sure we'd find the bus on the return. It worked fine for us.

There were good reviews before we left but there are some bad reviews recently. Not sure if they are getting a lot of business that they aren't prepared for or what their issues are now.

  3. We did that a few years ago on the Summit. We had our hotel store our luggage and headed to the ship about 4 pm. We ate dinner on the ship and then went back out for a while. The cruise line can tell you what time they want everyone to check in but I think it was around 7pm.

  4. I am not familiar with this company. But there is a bus from the airport to the Piazzale Roma. We took the ACTV bus to the P. Roma and walked over one small bridge to our hotel. The bus is an express bus so there are no stops between the airport and P Roma. I think it was about 7 euros per person one way.

  5. I did the original climb (about 3 1/2 hours) in November 2007. As previous posters have mentioned, you do wear a jumpsuit for the climb. I was allowed to wear my sunglasses using the strap they gave me. No camera was allowed. Yes I purchased my picture as it is a once in a lifetime opportunity. I did make a reservation before going there because of my limitation on time. The cost was the same but I had my preferred time. Enjoy!

  6. We used JBL from Naples. We had 10 people (was supposed to be 12) so we had 2 vans. Paolo was our driver and the other van had Giovanni (Joe) as theirs. Everyone had a great time. We stopped at Pompeii first and then went on to the Amalfi Coast. It rained in the morning (at Pompeii) but did clear up a little bit later in the day. I would definately use them again.

  7. Is it possible to travel from Toulon (Royal Caribbean dock) to St. Tropez? I understand that the bus is the best way. Is it easy to reach the bus station in Toulon? Is it easy to rent a bike in St. Tropez?

I was just in that part of the world but it is really easy to get around and their train along the coast is excellent. There is a train that runs along the Cote d Azur. I cannot remember the name but you should be able to google it....It is the same train system that runs between Nice and Monaco.

I wasn't in Toulon but hopefully others can let you know how to get to the train station. If it is close, I would look into the buses.
