It seems that some of the May and June Crown cruises got some FCC or on-board credit because of the missing or delayed ports. I would be asking for something while on board. Especially if I bought the cruise before the changes. sightcrr.

This will give you a rough idea of how many other people will be trying to go on tours. Taking a quick look it looks like Princess does not use Ward Cove which is a really good thing. Some rccl ships have 4k people. sightcrr.

I tend to be an over planner and want to read reviews of what I am going on. Spend some time on youtube to view the excursions you are thinking about. In Ketch go on the crab boat tour and walk town if time allows. Even more so if you are at Ward Cove and not downtown Ketch. You will never see bald eagles like this again. Juneau glacier and whale. Find the one with the smallest boat for best viewing (not the best for motion sickness) that works for you time in port. sightcrr

It is a very easy drive as there is only one road after you get to the edge of town. Before you think about this to long check if they have any cars available. In years past they would go quick and would be long gone by now. It would be like driving 101 with one lane each way and no traffic. Just like the bus all would need passports and may need new ArriveCan entry. Make sure car has full gas tank and everyone has used the restrooms before heading out. Yes, You have to do it before you get on board most cruise lines. You are likely in Canadian waters within 2-3 hrs of departing Seattle. The timing is tied to when you depart Seattle. sightcrr

I my opinion if it is for 2023 you may want to wait to see if WP&YR goes into Canada in 2023 before you book. 2022 was an odd year with them only going to summit. If they do go into Canada in 2023 then tours similar to years past will run and train to Frazier & bus back or reverse will be available. If it is for 2022 and told full and not available head straight to ship's tour desk and inquire and if that fails head to the train reps at the pier or the train station. Been told 10% of tickets are held for walk ups. With some ships rerouting or having to tender some folks may have to cancel which would open some train tickets. sightcrr

I don't remember seeing any tours available at the cruise dock. Have a look at the bear tour flights to the Katmai Coast from Kodiak. Do a google search on touring Kodiak and likely something will come up. We have enjoyed renting a car and using visitor info. Our go-to guides moved on when HAL stopped going there every other week. We are working on a May 23 trip and haven't found much jumping out at us and to early for bears but Sept at Katmai may be just perfect timing. Check youtube. Sometimes the size of ship for the depth of the water is a determining factor as to where they can moor the ship so just because there is an empty pier doesn't mean they can put you there. Short tender rides may be required. sightcrr.

It looks to me that Majestic starts on the 9th and is in Skagway on the 12th with several others. Now listed at RRF which could be affected but I don't know that for sure. Maybe call Skagway port. sightcrr
