  1. Someone will be bring this up, so it might as well be me: remember when the waiter would bring out the tray with the actual desserts on them to show you before you ordered? I'm hungry.
  2. If they found something wrong their cabin, nobody (including davekathy) would be shaking their fist at the sky yelling "damn you, previous guest"!
  3. A one day rental with pickup at San Pedro and dropoff at LAX is $100 total for a full size car for the dates we need next May. This is for Enterprise. It's a little high and I certainly wouldn't want to rent a car for a week. My wife's employer will get us $10 off on that. Enterprise will pick you up for free (link) so there's that.
  4. I know I joked about it, but I am sorry that your clothes got messed up by Celebrity--esp now that I know how light you travel. Are you planning on seeing the battleship?
  5. When you have time afterward, please let me know how that worked out. I am asking because I think we will be doing something very similar a year from now when we get tossed off the ship at San Pedro. We will likely be renting from Enterprise which has a location in/near the Crowne Plaza which is across the street from your Hertz location.
  6. What is your plan on getting you and your luggage there from the pier? Looks a little far to walk (with luggage) and almost too short for a taxi? Does Hertz pick you up?
  7. Thank you. I was looking at an Enterprise location in San Pedro.
  8. I am thinking of staying in LA for one night now when we do this cruise next April. I am curious as to where (location and company) you will be getting your car rental. Oh, and did you decide to see the battleship? Thank you.
  9. Mountain Daylight Savings Time = Central Standard Time (Puerto Vallarta)
  10. You may have bought to early if you are expecting new cruises to come out during the 6 month option period. Although the schedule was temporarily disrupted by COVID, Celebrity typically releases the next season's cruises in Nov and Dec of each year.
  11. The USS Iowa museum is open 7 days a week from 10a-4p. There is a 2 hour self guided tour that can be purchased for $26 pp. You can buy the pass in advance or as a walk-up https://pacificbattleship.com/museum_visit/ As an add-on to the $26 general access ticket (that allows you to do the self guided tour), you can purchase online a private guided tour for $75 pp (additional). It runs daily at 10:30a, 12:30p, and 2:30p. There are other add-ons, too. Some require 2 weeks advance notice (the Gun Tour).
  12. Iowa was decommissioned over 20 years ago so there shouldn't be a crew to enjoy any fruits. She did a few canal cruises back in her day though:
  13. Yes, it reminds me of the times I had to get the house cleaned up before my in-laws arrived.
  14. This happened a while a go: https://vancouversun.com/news/metro/cruise-ships-mast-will-be-altered-so-it-can-fit-under-lions-gate-bridge-next-year
  15. So the ship's clock is still one hour ahead of LA? Or did I miss something? Anyway, have a nice sea day and May the 4th be with you!
  16. Once again, thank you for doing that. BTW, I guess you will have a chance to see the USS Iowa when you dock at San Pedro. I didn't realize that she was there. I imagine that Iowa is not allowed to have an area on the ship named the "Retreat" or anything like that. Here's the port cam: https://www.portoflosangeles.org/news/livestream Current view: Emerald Princess and USS Iowa
  17. Good morning, DaKahuna. If you don't mind, I would appreciate it if you would post today's Celebrity Today when the time allows. I hope you enjoy your sea day! Looking forward to more dolphin shots although a whale would be mighty nice.
  18. Sorry about the unneeded cabin information, I sometimes will answer a question that is not being asked! Charles4515 is the proud M2 MacBook Air owner. I do have a M1 MacBook Pro though with pretty good battery life, but not 14 hours either. Your Asus Flip is pretty nice, too--and yes, Apple does not do laptop touchscreens.
  19. You will not find an abundance of accessible outlets for your laptop in the public areas so plan on being battery dependent and maybe even bring an extra battery if that is important enough to you. Your Summit stateroom will have European outlets as well as American ones (photo). So bringing a Euro to American adapter will also be useful in your cabin
  20. Yuck. All reports I have seen up to now about Equinox's shape have been pretty good. I am sorry this happened to you, esp the water. How much future onboard credit did they offer as compensation? Interesting CC screen name you chose, I hope you like it in the morning!
