  1. Based on how you described your past usage (go to the iLounge and use their computers), I would agree with you. But It's your laptop that prevents me from being 100% sure. If you are going to the trouble of lugging it on board, are you just going to use it mainly for off line usage like Solitaire or do you intend to surf the web with it (news, check on your stock portfolio, post on Cruise Critic etc)? You can go through 90 free minutes pretty fast depending on your browsing style. Like I said earlier, you can buy more Wi-Fi time after you get on board if you find that 90 minutes is not enough.
  2. Just to be clear, I believe the loyalty discount is good for a single wine bottle, correct?
  3. I just meant that you are financially better off for not having one (hardware costs and cell phone plan)!
  4. DaKahuna makes a good point. Depending on your usage of the Wi-Fi, you may not need to buy a package as they are pretty pricey. You can also decide to buy a Wi-Fi package or a day's worth of Wi-Fi after you get on board so you don't have to commit financially in advance.
  5. You mean you don't have a cell phone bill. You can still go to the iLounge and use your free minutes on the computers in there like the old days. Wi-Fi is available throughout the ship and you can use your Elite free minutes to access it or purchase an unlimited Wi-Fi package with a loyalty discount. As long as you log in to the Wi-Fi one device at a time, you can use your package or free minutes to connect your laptop, iLounge computer, iPad, etc during the cruise If you bring your laptop, you simply need to connect to the ship's Wi-Fi which will bring you to a login page. With your purchased Wi-Fi package, the log-in process is pretty trivial. You do not need to download anything in advance.
  6. I am not aware of any Transatlantic cruises by Celebrity that go to New York (since you are asking on a Celebrity forum). However those sea days will definitely be warmer for a cruise headed toward Florida vs New York. During our Transatlantic crossing from Rome to Tampa (Constellation, Oct/Nov 2022), the weather got progressively warmer with each passing sea day. As far as the seas go, that is a roll of the dice and you cannot say that heading to Florida will be better than heading to New York or vice versa. I surprisingly got sea sick for a couple of days and I thought the seas were pretty calm.
  7. Diverted to Acapulco because of a sick passenger that needs to be taken ashore.
  8. Hopefully the passenger will be ok. @DaKahuna, if you have an opportunity and a break from extracting money from the ship's casino, I would appreciate it if you would post the pages for Celebrity Today for today.
  9. Europe is more exciting to cruise than the Caribbean. But in the winter, the Caribbean is closer, cheaper and warmer than Europe and my wife likes to dive. So we dive.
  10. I am expecting some good photos from your shorex and tell me the best tip that you learned.
  11. The OP talked about both subjects in the first post: the cancellation and the "pathetic" offer.
  12. try the top left. That is where my subscribe button is located.
  13. I may have missed the answer to my earlier inquiry: can someone explain to me how this low limit (for a fee) gaming works in the ship's casino?
  14. I found the answer. Puerto Vallarta is on Central Standard Time and does not observe daylight savings time--anymore. I am in Chicago and it is now 11:36 am CDT. It is 10:36 am CST in Puerto Vallarta. So, no change in the ship's clock for Puerto Vallarta. Just as well. https://www.vallartadaily.com/this-april-is-the-first-time-in-26-years-that-puerto-vallarta-wont-move-clocks-up-an-hour-for-summer-time/
  15. Thank you. I presume that there will be one final time change and that it will be done on the evening of the Puerto Vallarta day. We will see.
  16. Good morning, DaKahuna. So there is no ship's clock change tonight according today's issue of Celebrity Today, correct? The schedule that was issued on embarkation day (below) shows the clock moving forward tonight as if Puerto Vallarta's time is different than Puerto Quetzal which it isn't. My guess is that the time change on the evening of May 4th is incorrect as well since it will be unneeded.
  17. How is it that you didn't relegate your husband to the inside cabin?
  18. Very nice and colorful. On the other hand, here in Chicago we have 50 shades of gray (weather-wise).
  19. The roll call for your sailing has members receiving cancellation letters.
  20. I credited @pukekolive with posting it, but I don't know the basis for its creation. A quick check of the roll calls will probably confirm its accuracy or lack thereof
  21. In the example I'm citing, Celebrity offered something like up to $500 in documented air fare losses. I cannot comment about air fare in your case other than I've yet to see Celebrity ever make someone whole on air fare. In the USA, we do get a voucher back good for one year. However my example is more than what's offered now and in the eyes of at least one person, too generous.
