  1. My wife and I did the Southern Loop Xpedition sailing in an Xpedition Suite (502) this past Nov. Here is the live thread that I posted. The suite air conditioner was just fine. Except for a bug we caught right after the cruise, the trip went very well. Celebrity did an excellent job. The trip is expensive, but we got what we paid for and more.
  2. I’d like to know what they’re really thinking…
  3. Hi, Mark. I haven't seen a breakdown published by Celebrity in a long time. Here is something that was posted by @Jim_Iain back in 2020 (the rates have since been raised a few times): Here is the thread that went along with it: David
  4. I did look at the S class cabin sticky and I clicked on the large spreadsheet and found your Eclipse cabin listed (1642). It said that it was one of nine cabins with the vent over the balcony. Until I saw your post and then the spreadsheet, I didn’t know that such a thing existed!
  5. Thanks for writing this review. I agree that Ushauia is a great port and it's awesome that you got to spend extra time there. Sorry that your cabin was a disappointment. It may be worth paying your cabin info on the S class cabin sticky thread pinned at the top of this forum.
  6. Here is a 13 page brochure that gives more detail about the shore excursions that are run at each island. It might be useful in helping you figure out which itinerary you want. Although it is written for their flagship, Flora, the shore excursion description should be the same for the other two ships--it was for our Xpedition sailing.
  7. Here is a comprehensive 68 page Galapagos brochure published by Celebrity. I hope you find it useful.
  8. Yes, you read that right. The promotion is essentially a credit. $750 pp towards your air fare if you use Flights By Celebrity or $500 pp credit if you book it yourself. Also some people like to use the credit to cheaply upgrade to business or first class.
  9. As far as the all inclusive aspect of the trip, you're not missing anything. Everything is covered except for the gift shop, massages and some alcohol. When I would go to my online Cruise Planner for our Nov 2023 Xpedition sailing, this is what appeared: Tips are also covered but some passengers will hand out extra discreetly. Extra tips are not solicited nor implied.
  10. Here's the flyer on the current Galapagos air promotion which includes the fine print. This promotion has been active most of the time in the past. You save $750 pp if you book your air through Celebrity. The fine print days you will be credited $500 pp if you independently make your own air arrangements. When we are talking about air, it refers to the flights from your home and back. The round trip air from Quito to Baltra is part of your package.
  11. My understanding is that you can book onboard and get the OBC. That's what they told me. You just have to find the time to do it. Of course there's no OBC to be gained if you book another Galapagos sailing. Too bad!
  12. We were on the road to North Carolina when the email/video came out. The webinar is well produced. Having just been to the Galapagos last November on Xpedition, I certainly agree that it is a great destination and Celebrity does a great job with it from beginning to end. Maybe we will do Flora some day. There is a total annular eclipse occurring at sunrise at the Galapagos on Jan 26, 2028--so maybe then.
  13. The layout for the 3 sets of elevators on Millennium class ships (aft-mid-bow locations) is an older ship design I would say. Horizon and Century class ships had the same layout for their 3 sets of elevators. It's the newer Celebrity ships that have gone away from that.
  14. Hi, Bob! I will get your custom door sign made up and emailed to you. I'll be traveling to see family this and next week so it probably won't get done until closer to the end of May if that's ok (I need to do a couple test prints on my home printer before sending).
  15. I had to research what the bottom (last) two photos were that I posted because although it was an aurora, I had never seen it shaped like that and it was over my head. Evidently what I saw is called an aurora corona and according to this website, it is "widely considered to be the most impressive type of aurora". I guess I would agree.
  16. My congratulations to the paradox. (Get it?)
  17. Yeah, flying in on the same day is not a good idea! One of the advantages of foregoing the package is that you could build some pre-cruise time by staying on the islands which I think would be pretty cool and nice mix with the cruise.
  18. Thank you for that--you make very good points. Sorry to hear Fri/Sat was a washout though.
  19. This is great information because you can save quite a bit of money if you do a "cruise only" booking with Celebrity. During our Xpedition sailing in Nov, we bought a Quito package but if we go next time, I would prefer to avoid the costly package. I didn't realize that you could get non-stop commercial UIO-GPS flights.
  20. Can you give us some information regarding how you booked your flights to Baltra and how easy it was to coordinate it with Celebrity? For example, I assume that you get to use the shuttle that Celebrity uses to get to the Panga dock from the airport (GPS) and back?
  21. I’m not as familiar with the app for that information. However for your sailing, two of your three Evening Chic nights will almost certainly be: Day 2 (Sea Day 1 of 4) Day 12 (second day at Copenhagen) And the third EC night will likely be: Day 6 (Sea Day 2 of 4)
