  1. We have only done one TA and experienced that connectivity problem you described, but that was on Constellation before she was equipped with Starlink. Is this still a problem with Starlink?
  2. We did one of the slot tournaments that was held on Constellation in Oct/Nov 2023. It was run exactly as djneph described although in our case there was no final round as the person with the top score after everyone had a chance to play once was declared the winner. The tournament is conducted on a certain set of slot machines on the casino floor. In our case it was 8 slot machines (there were 4 other machines being used that are behind the 4 slot machines that you can see in the photo). So the tournament was run 8 players at time--where everyone had a chance to play once. The mechanics of the game was exactly as djneph described right down to the balloon popping. If you look at the photo, you can see that the 8 machines are tied together because the players in 2nd and 3rd place (among the 8 playing) are declared up on the top screen.
  3. I know that @Ken the cruiser had very positive things to say about Flora's zodiacs in terms of ease of entry and exit. Here is one of his posts from his recent Dec 2023 Flora sailing: link. The photos in his "Live" review show the zodiacs very clearly (one photo is reproduced below) and I can see how they are a better design than Xpedition's.
  4. That is a shame that the Celebrity shorex tour description changed to something less attractive to you after you purchased it. I was looking through Celebrity's offerings (here's a link to the Mar 14 (aka PI Day) 2026 sailing; just be sure that you are logged off the Celebrity website for the link to work) but I now realize that the old tour description would not be listed. Were you given any formal notification that the tour changed? The floating market closest to the Laem Chabang port, Pattaya  Floating Market, had a serious fire last year and I wonder if that is the reason that the lunch was scrapped. Nonetheless I can understand your disappointment.
  5. That performance was with the Premium Wi-Fi package. I managed to buy the upgrade to premium wi-fi when Celebrity mistakenly priced the upgrade at $9.99 for the entire cruise and not per day like it was intended (here's a thread on that subject). But Celebrity got the last laugh because the performance was pretty poor anyway. There was a Wi-Fi performance warning published in the Celebrity Today (link). It said that speeds would be slow when we were sailing within Chinese territorial waters which affected a few days towards the end of the sailing or us.
  6. Yes. On the other hand, this is precisely what the OP was asking for over a year ago (and it wasn't available then).
  7. Here are the Wi-Fi speeds that I measured during our trip--both on board Solstice and at our hotels. For comparison, I also threw in the Wi-Fi speed that we had while onboard Xpedition during our time in the Galapagos this past November. Xpedition also had Starlink but somehow her Wi-Fi speeds were awesome unlike Solstice. The days that I didn't post a Wi-Fi speed while onboard Solstice likely means that the Wi-Fi was so slow that I couldn't take a measurement.
  8. Good morning, Suzanne. I didn't realize that you had a second sailing. How nice (and exhausting). Well, when you recharge and recover, I would love to hear from you about both cruises. David
  9. You mean the kind where you can delete other people's post?
  10. During our visit to Phu My (Ho Chi Minh City) on Solstice last month, there were 20 Celebrity shorex buses that arrived back to port late which I thought was crazy.
  11. No. When you use up your free 90 minutes, you are not required to purchase additional WiFi.
  12. Suzanne, how did your Hong Kong to Singapore sailing go? I want details!
  13. I didn't say it's the same thing except they are both sad.
  14. Welcome to Cruise Critic, Rooster! Go to the Mediterranean - Eastern & Western Cruise Critic forum for good targeted information on your cruise ports. My personal favorite ports are Italy and Greece, but that is just my opinion. Give serious consideration to hiring a private guide for some or all of your ports--something that you would not typically do on a Caribbean cruise. Whatever your budget allows, It is money well spent. A private guide will save you lots of time and will be a superior experience to a ship excursion. Private guides will often get your admission tickets in advance and will allow you to skip an admission line. Because of your small group size, you will often beat the larger ship tours to the big attractions. The Mediterranean forum (above) will have recommendations for excellent guides. If you don't see a recommendation, then post and ask for one. Then if you find one, book them as soon as possible. The real popular Cruise Critic favorites will get booked up real fast. You definitely need to find the roll call for your sailing (once you decide on a sailing). Here is a link to that forum. If you don't see your sailing, then start the roll call yourself by being the first one to post. Roll calls are where other Cruise Critic members on the same sailing will hang out. It's a great place to exchange information and ideas. It's also a great place to get a small group together and share expenses for a privately guided tour. Finally, you should seriously consider booking at least a couple of nights (more if possible) to stay in Europe before your cruise starts and after your cruise starts. This will allow you to explore those areas much more thoroughly than you will at the ports that your cruise ship will stop at. It will be one of the highlights of your trip. Allocating time on land before and after the cruise also allows you to enjoy things that you can't on a cruise like night time sightseeing (photo) or having dinner at a nice land side restaurant. Night time is cooler and less crowded. Also flying into Europe a few nights ahead of your cruise will allow you time to absorb unforeseen problems without missing your ship (e.g. cancelled flights) or hampering your cruise (waiting for lost luggage to catch up to you before your cruise starts). Good luck.
  15. From the archives, here is an old Millennium deck plan showing the Olympic in Deck 3: Here is the current Deck 3 configuration for Millennium:
  16. Don't disagree either. If we are going to adjust the denominator for visitors, I am sure that Chicago and SF received far more visitors than that (even if you just counted the international visitors alone).
  17. Nice watch! You're cruise sounds fun.
  18. Yeah, that's bad, too. We used to live in the Philadelphia area many years ago (1990's).
  19. I believe that in-cabin babysitting for a fee is provided. We made use of that 25 years ago when our kids were very young. During our Solstice cruise this month, we saw this which was intended for kids that were not old enough to be in the Camp At Sea kids club:
  20. They need to put a bulletin out for my hometown of Chicago. Sadly, we have 23 murders YTD.
  21. I agree that the wording is odd. It is also possible that the wording reflects what they actually will have to do once the change goes into affect. We will see.
  22. You can ignore the announcement as the payment terms are unchanged for your sailing since you booked before Jan 30th. If you look at the first post and read the last italicized sentence: Bookings made prior to the new effective date will be protected by having their final payment terms adjusted to keep their original payment schedule.
