  1. Yes, they will exchange other forms of currency for Euros.
  2. I was able to make my request via the "Contact Us" form on the Ufficio Scavi web page which is an option that I had read that others were able to do even though the Scavi website only says fax. I don't recall how far in advance you can secure reservations. I can tell you that I received a confirmation email on Apr 25 for a tour on Oct 21. So you can book at least 6 months in advance. I don't have the date that I sent in my request, but the turnaround time was fairly short--perhaps a couple of days.
  3. In response to one of your earlier questions, the Albergo del Senato doesn't have any awesome indoor public spaces that are worth hanging out during an afternoon to ride out the summer heat. The closest thing they have is a parlor room with a wet bar but it is more suited to sipping a drink rather than relaxing with a book. Here is a photo: As far as proper attire is concerned at the Vatican, there were people who were wearing longer shorts when we visited in October. Here are is a photo to give you an idea. That day was not hot so most people wore long pants (including us). Finally, if are looking for an excuse to really splurge to avoid the heat, you could take the VIP Key Master's Tour of the Vatican Museum and Sistine Chapel. It is an exclusive two hour pre-dawn tour with the Vatican Museum Key Master as he unlocks the doors and turns on the lights. It will set you back around $450 per person and you will have to get up when it is still dark outside to do it. You will completely beat the crowds and the heat. You can make up for your lost sleep by napping at your hotel later during the hot afternoon. I did not book it during our visit last October but it will be something I will be thinking about it when we return someday.
  4. The famous Vatican Scavi Tour is a great ticket to get during the summer, if you can get it.
  5. So next time do you plan on using TBL/Viator or will you be doing PJ?
  6. No, I did not. I found it on the last day of our cruise. I guess I could have confiscated it.
  7. During our last cruise in Oct/Nov which was on board Constellation, I found a 3-prong, surge-protected power strip installed inside a cabinet underneath our stateroom television. It was put there because there was only one outlet available inside the cabinet while two outlets were needed--one for the TV and one for a component that worked with the TV. It had the words "AV Dept" hand written on it in black Sharpie.
  8. Here is the new flyer published for the Extend Your Stay program which includes an FAQ section. The program is available only for Civitavecchia, Barcelona, Ravenna, and Piraeus. FAQ #25 indicates you have to temporarily surrender your passport and SeaPass card until you are ready to disembark.
  9. There is a light duty electrical outlet in the bathroom meant for shavers, etc. The outlet will accept 2 prong American and Euro style plugs. Because it is light duty, it is inconveniently located high above the sink next to the light fixture. Here is a photo taken of the bathroom on Silhouette's younger sister, Reflection:
  10. Very good point. I went back and edited my post to add a screenshot that had some of the fine print. I wonder what shore excursion is being shown in the ad photo.....
  11. New sales variant in email today. 5% additional off cruise fares, but no OBC (for Captains Club members) for selected sailings:
  12. I apologize for nitpicking, but I presume you mean "Exciting Deals" promotion.
  13. I like it, too. It's hard to get mad at the message (website is down) when you look at the beautiful shot in the background.
  14. Perhaps I may be mistaken. I came across this very recent thread which tends to support what you heard. Too bad.
  15. Yes, I realize that which is why I said I think your CVP is mistaken and not you. I simply do not recall reading on CC that Infinity is limited in that way. When I get a chance, I will scour CC to see if I can back that up.
  16. I am guessing the British Virgin Islands, but I really don't know. Celebrity's website is down (at least for me) and so I thought I would ask.
  17. First, as others I think have pointed out, the complimentary Wi-Fi for being Elite is 90 minutes. The minutes do not have to be spent in one sitting. You can log on and log off to the Wi-Fi and you are charged the elapsed time against your 90 free minutes. And so you see that as one of the options in the screenshot I took and put in my prior post. I have observed multiple times that the employees at the iLounge are rather forgiving and generous if your Wi-Fi signal was lousy when you used your free minutes or if you forgot to log off and accidentally ran off your 90 minutes with your phone in your pocket. They will often put free minutes back onto your account. (After all, iLounge techs want a good rating from your post-survey when you evaluate them). Second, yes you have the option to buy Wi-Fi for a continuous day--one day at a time. You can buy this for whatever days you want and are not required to buy it for every day of the cruise. In my case that was for $35 (per day). The screenshot was taken on Oct 22, 2022 when we boarded Constellation.
  18. I don't know what's on E class, but most television sets these days have dropped the 3.5 mm headphone jack in favor of a Bluetooth connection which requires menu access to perform the pairing operation. It's possible to use an audio output (RCA or an optical out) on the back of the television along with a converter.
  19. Thanks for posting your in-depth review. It's disappointing for me to read how the kids club came up short for your kids. It's distressing to read about your dining experiences.
  20. That's why I think this sale variant (assuming no change in base fare as you say) is financially better for families booking triples and quads (esp in suites where 3rd/4th passenger fare is higher than normal stateroom). I think solos come out ahead, too.
  21. That mirrors my experience as well. Fortunately I was able to make dinner reservations myself for two different nights during our 5 night stay at Albergo del Senato last October. One big tip to those people looking who may book this restaurant: I found that Armando al Pantheon's online reservation system does not work properly with my Chrome web browser. There is no warning or error message telling you so--I was just unable to see any available dates. It was only after I switched to Microsoft's Edge web browser did it work for me.
