  1. As of Jun 1, you can no longer purchase Basic Wi-Fi ala carte--your only option is Premium Wi-Fi. Basic Wi-Fi still comes as part of the Always Included cruise fare--from which you can buy an upgrade to Premium. Here is Celebrity's official flyer on this change: link
  2. Just to give you an idea, here is a view of the sunset and SV balconies: Millennium, near the Strait of Messina, Jun 24 2007
  3. I will tell you that Infinity has awesome aft balconies (better than Solstice class) and so I am biased towards the SV option. The SV balconies are large (they have a lot of depth) and you have a choice of being on the portion of the balcony that has an awning above you if you want shade (or shelter from the rain) and you can also choose an area of the balcony (closer to the rail) if you want sun. The SV balcony is easily large enough for all 4 of you to be out on the balcony at the same time with plenty of room to spare. If you choose an SV, I prefer to stay away from Deck 9 since there is a public deck above you. Deck 7 and 8 are great although I am partial to Deck 8 for no good reason. We have been on 14 Celebrity cruises with our two kids but have always been in one cabin. If we were to split up into two cabins, I dislike Option A (price) and Option C (don't want to be split apart on different decks). I would prefer the Option B arrangement. Aft balconies on Summit (Infinity sister), Jan 2015, St Maarten.
  4. Family Veranda (FV) has been converted to Horizon Suites only on Silhouette. They are not suites on the other S class ships (in fact they are renamed as Ultra Deluxe Veranda).
  5. As a scuba diver, RCG's "option to develop a private island in Vanuatu, Fiji" was eye opening to me.
  6. I don't recall this being discussed--or has it? https://www.cruisecritic.com/news/celebrity-cruises-looking-at-buying-a-private-island
  7. Did you communicate your request using the Contact Form on the official website or via fax?
  8. No, Celebrity does not have anything like the Key program that you can buy as a standalone package. However the Key program benefits are very similar to the perks that suite guests receive as part of their cruise fare. That is why I don't think Celebrity will offer a purchase-able package like because they do not want to dilute the suite benefits.
  9. I came across this Galapagos checklist issued by Celebrity: link Look at the 3rd item listed under the "Double Check" list.
  10. It happens a lot more frequently than you or I would think. Nine Japan sailings on Millennium (late 2023-early 2024) were declared as being oversold for certain categories in Apr of this year. It was a mess to unwind and it was a customer relations nightmare.
  11. I may be in the minority, but I agree with you--I would keep your veranda.
  12. So did you say something like, "that was easy" after you finished printing? And aren't you back from your cruise now--and if so, don't you have something more insightful to post other than how the luggage tag crisis was dealt with? I want details. Lol. You didn't change your avatar picture so I take it nothing traumatic occurred.
  13. If you haven't already, you should definitely check out the "Recently Returned on Flora" thread pinned at the top of the Flora Roll Calls. There is a similar (but larger) one for Xpedition which may be useful if you are hunting for information that would be common to both ships.
  14. The 5th award night is also free with Marriott.
  15. Oops. I miscounted. Five nights was the length of our reservation there this past October. It will go fast.
  16. As you know, MGM and Hyatt are not renewing their partnership which is set to expire at the end of Sep. It is being replaced with an interesting newly announced MGM - Marriott partnership. Fortunately, that works better for my wife and me.
  17. Congratulations on booking your superior double at the Albergo del Senato. I guess you somehow found a way to book 4 nights.
  18. Celebrity is always having a variation of essentially the same sale. The variations allow them to run a FOMO countdown clock and when it is over it is either extended (by popular demand of course) or a different form of essentially the same sale is started with a new countdown clock.
