  1. Jumping in - my husband uses a power chair full time because of MS. When we have cruised in the past, we have taken a manual chair as well, since this allowed us to go into ports, take cabs (he could transfer) etc. I LOVED having the manual chair. It was basically a luggage cart I was allowed to keep all the way to the gate, in line at port, etc. Rather than considering a separate manual chair an inconvenience, you may find it is a Godsend. My husband can no longer transfer, so we will not be taking the manual chair on our upcoming cruises, and I will miss it!
  2. $15/day for surf, $31.50 for stream. Discounts for more devices.
  3. Thanks to all. I have talked to my CVP who directed me to a video of the cabin. It is not obstructed, the deck plan is wrong.
  4. I just upgraded from Inside to OV on an upcoming Summit cruise to Iceland when the accessible OV came available. Was offered Cruise Only fare, and the difference was $600pp for 12 nights, or $50pp per night. For us it was a no brainer to accept. My husband doesn't drink at all, not even soft drinks, and I am fine with a soda package and a coffee and a cocktail daily from Elite lounge. Elite Internet package will do just fine. So we will save quite a bit. We have AI on next year's TA in Aquaclass, but I guess I won't be able to change that one. Too bad! That cruise is 16 nights, so it would save even more. I appreciate their offering the option.
  5. I just contacted my CVP to upgrade to a newly-available cabin on our August 2022 cruise, and he offered a cruise only fare. I was thrilled to find that it was ~$50/day/pp lower than the AI price. We do not drink much and are elite, so the internet is not a real value. All we need is my soda package and tips, and we are set for a big savings. I plan to try to do the same for next year's TA.
  6. I booked an accessible AQ on Apex months ago for an April 2023 TA. Now that we are starting to plan, I looked at the cabin again on the X deckplan and the cabin is marked Obstructed View. What? I specifically chose the side opposite the Magic Carpet, and there is no bump that I can see. Cabin is 9231. Both adjacent cabins do not have the obstructed view warning. Can't find anything in search. Anyone know what the Obstruction is or if it could be a mistake?
  7. My husband's MS and my age have progressed to the point that we can no longer easily transfer him from chair to bed and back without our hoyer. We have a cruise planned for August that will end overseas. Does anyone have experience either renting a patient lift, or bringing one especially on an overseas flight? Our hoyer says it is "portable" but that means it collapses to a pretty large size. We're willing to invest in something new if there is a practical take along option. What do people do?
